Reception service would be good if they were more polite and smiled a bit. After al, we have booked a room with them. The rooms are very clean and tidy, but the spoons to make a cupa are dirty, kettle can do with a good clean as well, but it was comfortable.

Rooms were amazingly spacious, tidy and clean. Love the smell in the room.

Location is close to city centre and walking distance to Westfield.

The setback was the lack of sound proofing. Guests next door had their music turned up and could hear them talking at 1am in the morning.

Check in time was 2 pm but no one was at the reception. The owner arrived when I was ringing. Asked for my credit card for the deposit and to fill in the details to enable refund. The surface at the reception counter was uneven and I was told that my writing was illegible which can result in my refund not paid back.

This place was really clean and there was no noise. Staff accommodating. Location suited me as was close to where I needed to be. Would stay again.

Room was freshly Renovated and very comfortable. Plenty of space and bathroom facilities were also very clean with shower pressure like I wish I could have at my house. Don’t judge a book by its cover. Nothing special from the outside but inside was most comfortable and modern. Great value for money so will definitely be staying here again on my next visit.

Incredibly rude staff - called to book a room as online wasn't working, then I was hung up on due to not wanting to bank transfer the fees. I truly hope no one chooses to book at this motel. The way I was spoken too give me the feeling that you wouldn't be treated with respect or have a good stay.

Worst service I have ever received from a motel. Motel lost my original booking and once a re-booked they called back an hour later to cancel my booking for a group booking. Lady then swore at me over the phone when I advised I would leave a poor review. I can not believe how bad this experience was.

The service in this motel is terrible. I booked for one night and included my arrival time. I did not receive any notification that I would not be able to check in at my arrival time. When I called, their staff were very tough and cold, telling me I had to lose the money. It's not her problem. She has no other way. And it was too hard for me to find another place to stay at that time, cause many motel reception are closed. Also her bad and unfriendly attitude terrible affected the mood and schedule of our trip.

Owners are fantastic super helpful got us to where we needed to go. Their showers are off the hook. Best shower I've had in forever. The bed and pillows were comfortable. The place is old but its a good one. Defs would stay here again if in Ballarat.

Shower hasn’t been cleaned properly, there was little to none amenities. Two shampoos, no body wash, a tiny soap that looked like it had been left out in the sun. Bed was terribly uncomfortable. Overall cleanliness of the place seems grotty.

The woman who runs this place is the most disgusting human I’ve ever come across.
Honestly the service is horrendous, her attitude is horrible and the way she speaks is beyond rude.
I would NEVER recommend this place to anyone no matter how cheap the rooms are or how great the location is!
If you want to be ripped off and spoken to like a piece of dirt then this is the place for you, if not then I’d save your money and stay elsewhere!

Absolutely disgusting service. I cannot stress enough how incredibly rude and heartless the owner here is. She will happily and with no hesitation or remorse take your money from you with absolutely no space for flexibility, understanding or acceptance of your circumstances. Stands out as the sort of person that would take your booking, charge your account and find a reason to cancel your booking with no refund. Steer clear of this business and this woman at all costs, convenience and location are not worth dealing with this woman.

Ok so booked over the phone for 3 rooms with no follow-up email from both me or the hotel and when we got down there she said that I booked the next night. So I paid for three nights on the Sunday night and then had to repay for another two rooms for that night and friends had to go somewhere else. So my other daughter is a 30 today and she wanted to use the rooms so I'll run up and asked if we could take the rooms. We'll just take them cuz it already paid for them and she said it was ok. Then she rang and said that she needed a bond and photo ID for everyone that was staying in the rooms and I said well instead of taking three rooms we'll just take the two if there's you know a price difference and because she gave us a discount of $40 last night because of the mix up this is uncalled for. It's really ridiculous and she was quite rude so don't book there

Good adequate hotel nice modern rooms that are clean and neat but no free wifi and after accidentally locking myself out of my room found it near impossible to contact the owner to let me back in after ringing reception twenty times and banging on numerous doors I had to pull their fuse to get attention maybe an after hours mobile number or an emergency bell button at reception would be a great idea, otherwise can't complain

Spoke to Tam on the phone who point blank told me that it was my fault I got covid and that she wouldn't transfer or refund the room.
Least sympathetic and most heartless interaction I've had.
Spend your money somewhere that deserves it

For a motel, this place exceeded my expectations. Pristine bathroom, comfortable beds and on site parking. Definitely will stay here again

Would have loved to stay there.
After two years not being able to anywhere, we finally booked a night here.
Three days before our arrival date, I tested Positive for Covid and had to go into isolation.
We were also going on Steam train trip and we’re excited, being two aged pensioners.
We rang the steam train people who were happy to reschedule our trip without any problems.
Bay City Motel have a non-refund policy which we understand and agree with and we were quite happy to re-schedule our Motel booking. Sadly that was not an option or acceptable to Bay City Motel.
Pensioners get it tough sometimes.
We are sorry that we could not stay with you, maybe another time.

Worst service ever. The owner/manager was rude, dismissive and refused to even contemplate a solution. We booked and paid for 4 rooms but our staff were caught in an horrendous storm on our work site and their arrival at the accommodation was delayed. The hotel had zero compassion or flexibility and would not even consider trying to find a way to assist us get our people into their rooms. They just repeated that they closed at 9pm and referred us to their Ts and Cs on the website. Strange attitude for hoteliers. Worst I've ever encountered. DO NOT take the risk.
