Comedy Republic reviews
36 Such an amazing venue! The loveliest team bringing life to the place and even management/owners go out of their way to ensure all punters are enjoying the night! Always cracking line-ups and I love the variety they have throughout the week, especially the effort they put in to mid-week events too! As someone who works weekends it’s always great to have fun weeknight options as well. I love that they showcase up and comers in comedy too so there’s always nice surprises in the line ups. Props to the bar as well, there’s a fantastic non-alcoholic drinks menu too well beyond your standard soft drinks. It’s nice to be able to feel fancy with a nice beverage and not just a coke or lemonade.
Really appreciate having this space to enjoy a well-loved form of entertainment. Well done team!
Great laughs. $10pints. Enthusiastic crowd. Entry price less than $20. Comedy was clever, on point and most of all had the crowd laughing. A great night out.
It requires a lot of TLC and $20,000 spent on freshening it up.
A lift would be nice, climbing up 3 sets of stairs is a bit to ask on old knees.
The best comedy driven venue in Melbourne! Get on it! It’s great. Upcoming and established comics. Everything you want
I went to see a comedy show. I didn't have my digital certificate, only my paper ones. They couldn't let me in, because the rules for spaces are explicit that it must be a digital certificate.
The guy on the door was considerate and patient, and went out of his way to try and help me fix the problem so I could still attend the show. While I wasn't ultimately able to (which was entirely my fault), he did let me speak with my friends about why I couldn't attend.
The door guy is doing a hard job in trying times, and doing it will style and aplomb. Fantastic service, much appreciated.
I was at this venue over the Melbourne International Comedy Festival period. Welcoming atmosphere and I thoroughly enjoyed my time.
Staff were really welcoming and friendly. Comedy was awesome. Great bar downstairs. Only comment would be way too hot in the upstairs room. Otherwise I will definitely return!
Overpriced tickets for average comedians, overpriced drinks, a very hot room (literally sweating in a t-shirt), and a long line to the restroom during breaks. Oh, and seats crammed in like chickens in a cage farm. Still, 3 stars for supporting Melbourne's standup scene with a dedicated CBD venue.
Comedy Republic is my new favourite place to hang out after work. Fun times are had by everyone.
Absolutely Brilliant!
What a great venue to kick back have a couple of quite drinks and see some absolutely awesome entertainment.
I went to see a show as part of the Midsumma festival and cannot express enough what a wonderful evening it was. The team who work here are excellent at their jobs and made the experience all the more memorable.
Warm, inviting and modern bar with cracking comedy upstairs - you wouldn't believe you're right above Bourke Street! The team here really uplift fresh new acts and local breweries / wines, a great new venue to support.
This place is an awesome place to go to for after work drinks and a laugh. Lots of fun and a great vibe
Fun environment, we were in the bar area which was intimate and not too crowded. Friendly staff. Granny Bingo was the show and that was a blast.
Great crew, great space. Drink selection is broad for a little bar. You may even spot someone famous on the odd occasion. 100% recommend you check it out!
Very small but the air-con didn't seem to keep up. Drinks are very expensive. The toilets wow. I have never seen so dusty, dirty and disgusting. Very Rude lady on the door. The show was okay.
