College Lawn Hotel reviews
47How very disappointing. Pub is awesome, but food was a complete letdown and waste of money! All the meals we ordered had no flavour, really very strange. Zero flavour in all 3 dishes but also no salt. Very annoying real disappointing as we heard good things, it’s presented well, but stops there. Don't waste your money!
Went here for lunch yesterday and the food was terrible. No taste at all. The pies my friend got had no gravy and were dry. The chicken burger I got was like eating rubber as it was way over cooked. Don’t bother.
Poor service. Was ignored by the employees as we waited to be seated. Waited 10 minutes, even when trying to get their attention at the bar. Waited 50 minutes for 3 cans of beer. They were clearly understaffed.
Great place to chill good service and drinks but the “wagyu” burger was the driest burger i have ever eaten in my life (it’s also underseasoned).
Room was huge, plenty of room for a shower, INSTALL ONE asap. Community bathroom small, cramped and not cleaned while there. Entrance foyer was filthy with a big bundle of exposed electrical wires next to bar door. Entrance can be opened with a plastic card easily so security wasn’t great. Room door was hard to shut and open. No TV, ridiculous nowadays with prices so cheap. Community kitchen was pathetic and useless! No mini fridge in room, no heating or air conditioning! Backpackers accommodation is all it is. Avoid at all costs. The food was average at best! Hotel security were not dressed in proper attire, bar persons were not customer oriented and were abrupt and a little condescending. The Flooring and stairs had more creaks and groans than a nursing home. The outdoor marquees are past their use by date and need gone. This Hotel possesses so much potential but has an owner with tunnel vision. Could be something special, needs fresh eyes and ideas.
Great value! (Cheap for location, and rooms are perfectly nice).
Probably the best place for just crashing out if needing to stay overnight in the area.
Nice place. Nice beer in the sun garden in spring. Had the chicken salad and it was super nice!
Had father's Day lunch and the food was delicious. Good vegan options.
Lovely relaxing atmosphere.
Dogs very welcome and water bowls available and a doggo menu.
Friendly staff
Highly recommended
Will be back
The bartenders were really good and helpful, had a great time. 10/10 will come again. Matt (the bartender) was definitely a star, can't wait to come back!
Quiet location away from the noise of chapel St. Spacious warm and welcoming. Birthday and cricket watching. Offered a choice of TV's to watch the ashes on. Food arrived quickly and was well prepared. My friend got a complimentary birthday beer. All up worth visiting the next time the Ashes are on.
Not sure just drove past. My brother said he took the dog there a few years ago and had a good time cheers
Such a great place to hangout with family or friends on any weather as it has indoor and outdoor seating area. Yes, it is kids friendly.
The food portion and price are decent, and it tasted amazing. The grilled haloumi cheese, the burger, fish and chips, were all satisfying. Best of all is the beer battered chips. Liked it!
One of the best in Prahran/Windsor area. Both food and drinks wise + it's suitable for any weather conditions
Awesome place to grab some food and drinks, loved the outdoor seating areas (luckily enough to have been there with some great weather).
An excellent spot in a quiet neighbourhood. Good pub menu and healthy options. Also an excellent place for a furry friend.
Always had a good time at this pub, never had a bad meal and always enjoyed the atmosphere. I don't get to Melbourne often but when I do I try and get to the College Lawn for a pint!
A great pub a short stroll from Prahran station. We were lucky enough to have a beautiful 20oC day, so we sat outside in the beer garden enjoying lunch, a few beers and the AFL.
The food was great, and they have heaps of local beer on tap. If you are visiting during a busy time I suggest making a booking.
Lunch meals are pretty good. Nice outdoor eating area too. The beer selection is getting better all the time.
Excellent place to have some drinks with friends. Amazing food and lovely service. Will be returning!
We do not go often but we have been eating here since 2005. A great pub with friendly atmosphere
