Coles South Melbourne

Less variety of products in comparison to different coles around Melbourne and suburbs. Looks less organised, as well.

No parking discount for shopping at the Coles Supermarket - that takes away my interest in shopping there again. Go around to the Aldi and get free parking above there

This customer service is shocking. I was the only customer at the self serve checkout, one of the staff (old lady with a lazy eye) was telling me off because i wasn't putting my scanned items in the bagging area. I kept pressing the button to indicate i was using my own bag, and i was placing my items directly back in the trolley as they were large, and i had a lot of shopping so they wouldn't have all fitted in the bagging area. After i was nearly done, she had to fix the machine because I went over the limit of not placing items in the bagging area, she had a go at me and told me off for doing the wrong thing. I asked her why didn't she tell me at the beginning, because she was starting at me the whole time. She turned away and said that i was being unreasonable. What the hell?

Team members need to work on their personal hygiene before anything else, especially the nightfill grocery team (smokers, body odour). Item location knowledge is lacking too. Very disappointing for a main flagship Coles store.

Honesty this place has gone so downhill. I used to shop here regularly but have now moved to wollies.
-shelves are always a mess/ mixed up
-many shelves empty/ products unavailable
-many of the staff have some serious personal hygiene issues- some overwhelmingly bad.

Really need to sort out the Delhi never any roast and being told that they do a limited run on the weekend

Well serviced by trams, Precious 1.5 hours free underground parking also makes it so easy to shop here for those with cars! Next to the major banks, Coles provides a lot of local conveniences! It’s only a street away from the South Melbourne Market, only few hundred metres from South Bank (Aquarium, Melbourne Convention Centre, Crown Casino, Village Cinema, city centre.) from here!

After 8years as a faithful customer i was hassled over a $1 refund by the manager so dont shop there anymore.

It's a good place to get groceries, or light lunch. Of course like with any Coles you need to check expiry dates to get the freshest, it's often hidden at the back of the shelf, otherwise the choice is good, and prices are good.

This is a proper sized super market
so you can find almost everything inside the store.
They have quality products too and excellent customer service.

One of the best supermarkets in my opinion, you can find everything inside the store, the staff members are always there to help you out. Simply Fantastic

Nice place to shop. You will get verity of fruits, vegetables, meat and other grocery items. Deli section is not bad, different type of marinated olives, dried tomatoes, verity of cheese, salami, meat, fish and roast chicken. I like their dry fruit section. Staff is helpful.

Good variety of fruits and vegetables. Friendly staff. Convenient location as underground free parking for 2 hours. Many coffee shops and restaurants close by which makes Saturday grocery outing a relaxing event.

This is a fairly big store compared to all the other "metro versions" around Melbourne. This is a proper sized super market. Is there bigger in outer suburbs? 110%. But this is a good sized supermarket close to the CBD.

I am a local Andrew this is my local coles.the past few months I’ve seen a rapid decline in this coles. But tonight’s was the worst EVER!
I am sick and tired of walking in and smelling disgusting BO from staff members who look dirty and oily! But tonight topped the cake! There were 4 guys all staff all talking their language so I didn’t I understand it but joking and laughing and I plus another lady asked for help and were totally ignored as they continued to talk And joke! Then to top it of one of them had the hand forklift with a empty pallet on it And didn’t bother to say excuse me he just ran over a lady’s foot and pushed my trolley and just continued to go into the back room without saying sorry or anything and cleary saw what he had done!

This is not the first time I have had bad experience in this coles it’s actually disgusting when I go at nights it’s full of men who look like they don’t shower! I am NOT RACIST AT ALL AS I AM from overseas my self BUT I HAVE HIGH STANDARDS IN MY apperance but in this store the they obviously don’t.

I also am a late night shopper And always shop at about 830pm onwards and seem to find all the fruit and veg packed away! And to ask to get something is like im asking the very to go and kill someone. It’s ridiculous at how your made to feel in this coles!

LUFT YOUR STANDARDS SERIOUSLY ITS A DISGRACE TO KNOW IN SOUTH MELBOURNE THIS IS HAPPENING!

How can people say it's got a good range of products? It's a tiny store, and for the number of people it services in the area, just doesn't cut it!
Also, where are the proper staff members if you want some assistance? The only people around are the guys who restock the shelves - they barely speak English, constantly push trolleys into customers and are rude when approached. The friendliest staff member is actually the lady security guard.

The staff are exceptionally gracious and sturdy.the selection of product is good and most of all.the layout of the super market is convenient and conventional

My local. Great supermarket with engaging staff. In there almost everyday. Much better vibe than Woolworths near by.
