Cochin Wine Bar & Vietnamese Restaurant

I recently dined at Cochin and was thoroughly impressed by the exceptional service and delicious cuisine. The ambiance was inviting, creating a perfect setting for a memorable dining experience. Have you tried the Tom Chien Com? They’re prawns covered in rice crispies services with some delicious pineapple flavoured sauce. They are the best. With the shaking beef and stir fried vegetables a close second. The staff are great and they know their drinks list too. You can’t go wrong if you come here for dinner. I just love it!

Delicious food and very nice staff:) There is also a good selection of wine. I would definitely come back while in Melbourne:)

I recently had my 50th birthday party at our Cochin. Sonija, Jason and the staff went above and beyond to make it a truly memorable occasion. The food was incredible (as always) and our guests were quick to comment about it too! Great selection of beer and wine and the service was first class. Everyone had a wonderful time and couldn't stop raving at how well they were looked after! Look forward to visiting again soon! Xx

Cochin is a Richmond staple! Friendly attentive service every time, great wine list, cocktails available and local and international beers too. The food is beautiful and plenty of gluten free and vegetarian options as well. Great vibe and atmosphere perfect for a date night or catch up with friends. They also do a super lunch menu as well with great specials and feed me menus. Once you experience this place you will go back!

I went to Cochin for a foodie meet-up in June and enjoyed every dish.

The quail was really delicious and it is definitely the dish of the night for me. I will go back for it.

The service was great and thanks for taking care of 20 foodies at the same time.

Staffs are accommodating with food requests.
The highlight is the Tom Chien Com and chicken salad, and we really enjoyed the coconut spicy margarita too!

How to describe the experience of eating here. If experimental French author, Marguerite Duras’ fever-dream novel, The Lovers, was food, it would probably taste like Cōchin.

Yes, it’s Vietnamese. Yes, it’s French. Yes, it’s fusion. But it’s also wholly other. The creative combinations of flavours, colours and textures leave the senses reeling.

The chateaubriand in fresh herbs has a haunting delicacy of flavours that left me feeling like I’d just astral travelled to a mythical place between modern Ho Chi Minh City and the Saigon of French Indochina.

Cōchin isn’t just multicultural cuisine, it’s cosmopolitan.

Bravo.

Found this wonderful place last night. We had the banquet and every single dish was delicious. The service was quick & super friendly & I loved the restaurant decor & lighting.

Party of four and did we have the most beautiful drinks and dinner pre Ed Sheeran concert. Swan Street was buzzing and did we pick the right place. Food was absolutely beautiful so so yummy and the staff are brilliant, they go above and beyond to make sure all patrons are looked after perfectly. Thank you so much cannot wait to return.

We were a group of 16 and opted for the "Feed Me" banquet. Everybody loved it! Every item of food we had was absolutely delicious and there was more than enough food. The service for drinks was also great. Highly recommend.

Very good food and the special - steamed barramundi with soy and ginger sauce - was outstanding. The Saturday banquet had more than enough food for 2. Very attentive service. Definitely will come again.

Super friendly staff and delicious food made this a great night out. We had the $60 banquet and it was a delicious and generous choice. The prawn tom chein com is so good as was the red duck curry. We will be back x

It’s been 7 years almost from when Cochin opened their doors that we first visited this little gem of a restaurant. Jason Baker a true professional and loyal to the fusion cuisine of French Vietnamese… the food is just as exceptional today as when we were first introduced to it.wine list compliments the delectable menu… please don’t walk past this one… your tastebuds will love you and you will not be disappointed ever.

One word - Impeccable! The food, drinks & service, we could not fault, all amazing…. We had the “feed me” option from the menu - the champagne scallops were to die for, you must try, the beef was the best we’ve ever had, barramundi, prawns & even the vegetables - omg - so good! We can’t wait to go back - do yourselves a favour & try Cochin, you won’t be disappointed!

Such a perfect experience! Was welcomed in with friendly smiles straight away by staff, felt taken care of all the time with all drinks and food, they cared about all our needs and would cater to everything we requested. Been here twice already and will happily continue to support a beautiful restaurant️
