Citrus reviews
58As a local in the area, we get takeaways twice a week and I’ve been sorely disappointed recently. The past few times we’ve visited, the new guys serving takeaways have been VERY stingy, especially with rice which is strange as rice is generally the cheapest part of the meal. We have to go home and make rice to have with the takeaway which defeats the point of takeaways. Good sized portions when the girls serve. Not inclined to return now.
All you can eat plate for $25 and a slightly smaller single portion $20 plate. It's great value for what you can get. Chicken curry was slightly spicy. Eggplant curry and potatoes were delicious definitely must haves. Beef curry is a little too sweet in my opinion.
What a find. $25 a head, all you can eat buffet. Wonderful flavours. The fish curry was a revelation, superb presentation and beautifully flavoured. You real must find this gem.
We love Citrus for a guaranteed delicious vegan meal. You can dine in buffet style $25 all you can eat, $20 for one plate, or Takeaway for $15.
One of the most over priced Sri Lankan restaurant in melbourne. Buffet is 25 per person which has only rice and curry where most of the other Sri Lankan restaurant has rot, hoppers, noodles, rice and curry plus 2-3 varieties of desserts for under 20 dollars.would not recommend to anybody
On 20 October for our Date Night we went to Citrus located in 252 St Georges Rd, Fitzroy North
Citrus offers $25 all-you-can-eat option to feast on the massive varieties of Sri Lankan food. Whether you’re meat eater, vegetarian or vegan, there are plenty of options for you?
Everything we tried was delicious and packed full of flavors, also you definitely have to get the mango lassi (not included in ayce but so worth it!). You must book beforehand as it got super busy around dinner time
The quality of food was good in comparison to other buffets.liked the warm plates.good value cod money and extra bonus points because they were playing taylor swift.
Nice, authentic Sri Lankan food. Great vibe and reasonably priced.
The best Kottu I had in Melbourne.
Definitely a must try place.
Cheap, friendly & delicious. Even though I've moved away from this suburb I still come back for a solo meal out (good ambient lighting, lots of smaller tables & unfussy waitstaff) or takeaway now and then. $15 for generous serve in a biodegradable takeaway box is a bargain & the curries are tasty as.
Buffet is available for 25$ and one time serve for 20$. Anyway food is not yummy. Even they serve Sri Lankan foods, not taste as Sri Lankan. Most of the customers are foreigners, not Sri Lankan. It might be bcz of taste. Simply no ලුණු ඇඹුල්. Worst experience. No parking facilities. If you are a Sri Lankan searching for our Sri Lankan flavour better not to go.
For $25 eat all u can buffet, i stuffed myself atleast a kilogram of authentic Sri Lankan cuisine.
There's about 4 meat dishes and 3 veggies and 3 types of rice to choose from. But i tried them all on my first round and went back a couple more times for the sweet n crunchy fish bites, goat and chicken curries, lentils and green beans, papadums and pineapple chutney. Ordered a mango lassi and puddings for dessert.
What a night of belly full of great food and laughter with good friends who introduced us to this fantastic, value for money restaurant in Fitzroy.
Make sure to go early on Fridays coz by 7: 30pm, it was packed full when we were there.
Will definitely visit them again soon
I love everything about Citrus - been there numerous times - but what's with the hand sanitizer? The scent was disgusting.please change brands. Please.
Always love eating here. The staff are friendly, but not intrusive. Tables are well spaced out and mask wearing while serving food is followed by patrons and staff which speaks to great culture and management.
The food is such great value and so filling. There's heaps of variety available to suit all dietary requirements. Highly recommended!
Honestly this food is exquisite. Fresh, perfect blend of spices and made with love. You can't get better. I travelled through Sri Lanka and this is totally genuine cuisine. It is also such incredibly good value. I got the take away 16.90 box and had an array of beautiful curries to feast on and some left overs.
Love supporting this gorgeous family business
I love eating here. The banquet is extremely reasonably priced and totally delicious. The staff are super friendly and accomodating. Would 100% recommend the devilled fish!
Amazing Sri Lankan and only $20 for an all you can eat buffet! We walked in without a reservation - food is great, there's both vegetarian and meat options and I would definitely recommend going
The food taste was so good and service from the staff is very nice. I preferred this restaurant for an alternative of Indian food.
Great value, the takeaway meals are huge I always have leftovers. Staff are super nice, would highly recommend this place.
I’ve been going here since it opened on the regular. Super friendly staff, delicious food and all you can eat. The fish is always delicious as are the papadums, the coconut sambal and the chicken.
One of the easiest 5 starts I give. The food was great, the service was very warm, the prices are reasonable. There's really nothing not love here.
I would have enjoyed some Sri Lankan background music instead of the Western music that was playing.
