Cinema Nova reviews
43Liked how you can get tickets before you enter, the screen is smaller than franchise cinemas but the seats and audio are pretty good. Friendly staff too. Would come back here in the future
Staff were rude, arrogant, and had an attitude. Certainly won't be going there again.
Cinema Nova provides a decent movie experience, although the seating can be uncomfortable for extended periods. The ticket prices are reasonable, but the snack options are limited and overpriced. The staff are generally helpful, yet peak times may result in longer queues. Overall, Cinema Nova is a satisfactory option for catching the latest films in Melbourne.
Like an oasis for those thirsty for a bit of quality cinema. Great IFF selection, some interesting new releases. Wish I was staying longer.
The cinema itself is good and I like that they show independent films as well as the latest movies. I was a bit disappointed in the cafe though, I waited 20 minutes for a very plain looking toasted sandwich and then had to try and eat it in a hurry so I didn't miss the movie. Next time I'll just go to Brunetti's beforehand instead.
Nova Cinema has such a diverse selection of movies, from mainstream to independent, without the hassle of big crowds. While also in the heart of Carlton's fine dining strip.a perfect combination
It's a long time since I've been here, but Cinema Nova shows excellent films with a good selection of Australian and international films.
Great old school cinema give. Great selection of films. Also offer 2hrs free parking. Only a stroll from Lygon St restaurant. Great for date night.
My favourite cinema in Melbourne. Choc tops are available as well as beers and red wine to enhance the cinematic experience. Or for the budget patron, you can get what you like from the supermarket downstairs and smuggle it inside in a lady's handbag or gentleman's overcoat.
Lots of cinemas of varying sizes so plenty of variety from popular to arthouse films, comfortable seating, lots of food options available, conveniently located amongst the Lygon St shops, Brunetti's is downstairs. They pack their schedule so expect to be moved along promptly after your session concludes. I found the COVID-19 procedures to be thorough and we'll organised. I never felt crowded for my Sunday midday session.
Foyer ceiling is pretty weirdly designed and very short, try not to hit your head if you're over 2m
I've enjoyed your cinema for as long as I can remember but for you to remove a perfectly acceptable Australia Day ad because of 1 complaint (out of the many hundreds of patrons you get each week) has cost you my business. I will also be strongly advising my friends not to attend your cinema.
So wonderful to be able to go back to the cinema. Cinema Nova has lovely, friendly staff, who are taking all precautions in this time of Covid to ensure your visit is as safe and as pleasant as possible. I also love that Cinema Nova shows interesting films, as well as productions from the National Theatre in the UK.
Good taste in movie selection. Have been enjoying the cozy atmosphere for years. Great location too - always a treat to grab something sweet at Brunetti before or after a nice movie.
A Cinema like no other, great location, quaint appearance inside and out, awesome staff and a fine selection of indie and post epic movies/experiences.
Very good variety of arthouse and world cinema. Screens are old school and tiny but that's what the experience is all about! Good selection of food and very good quality seating.
Beautiful cinema, can be quite romantic when its quiet i.e. Midweek, and when the surly, bad tempered and ill-mannered child with the dark, curly hair isnt "checking" your tickets. Literally the worst attitude of anyone I've ever met, and I've been in customer service (serving customers) almost my entire 20 year career.
It was an awesome retro experience of an older style cinema but the crowds and chaos of the front desk really take away from the enjoyment otherwise worth a visit
The film didn't start. Someone else in the audience had to ring Nova management to let them know this. Finally when the film begun it was screened blurred to us all the way through. This place is left in bad disrepair including black tape peeling off and left on the main stairs, a tripping hazard. It is grubby.
