Chopstick Delight Chinese Restaurant reviews
59 Food is authentic Cantonese flavor, recommend their roasted duck (around $69 each), melon soup and ginger & shallot fish head.
Truffle fried rice not bad, but a bit over-value ($35.8).
PS. Roasted duck and melon soup need call to book at least one day prior to arrival.
Staff were so friendly n amazing! Offered to help in any way they can
Food is amazing n delicious
You would need to pre order the duck
We had the winter melon soup too n it’s a must try
Superbly poor customer service. Was really rude when we were just looking at the menu and asking questions about some items. Turned around and walked away. Definitely not returning.
This restaurant is located in Mulgrave, in one of the suburbs in Melbourne, not far from Dandenong. From the outside, it looks simple, and ordinary. But once inside, the space is bigger and there are lots of people and tables. For a Chinese restaurant, it had lots of Asian people, which is a good sign. I always look at who is eating and what they are eating when I go to a restaurant eg are there many Japanese in a Japanese restaurant, how many Italians (or who I can hear speaking Italian) in an Italian restaurant, say in Lygon Street Carlton. We had tom yum soup, braised fish, ma po tofu, seasonal vegetables, stir fried mushrooms, sweet and sour pork, eye fillet steak with black pepper sauce, seafood with beancurd and of course served with rice. The food came within a reasonable time, was hot and tasted good. Service was also good and staff, although busy, were attentive and responded to our requests quickly, such as refilling of tea pots with hot water, etc. When we finished our meal, we did not feel pressured to leave (like some other restaurants). Overall, good food coupled with pleasant surrounds, making for a good night out with family and friends. Happy to recommend it and come back.
Food was ok, typical Cantonese food. The signature dish was the duck, but personally I didn’t like it because the duck itself has no flavour, you need to dip a lot a plume sauce. The melon soup - was very average. The place is a bit squashy as well. Overall I give 3.5 star, food is ok, it’s just didn’t surprise me.
一只龙虾也不知道多少磅,居然要$323.2一只黄油龙虾,味道一般,吃完很腻。豆腐味道也缺点味道的感觉。总之不会再去了。
I spent $323.20 for one lobster without know how much kilograms it is. The taste is very pale and greasy, I will not go back anymore
Good food, tasty dishes and fast service
Dishes are a little bit expensive
Highly recommended
Very good cantonese restaurant, recommended
1.winter melon soup
2.the duck
must order
Simply the best Chinese restaurant in this part of Melbourne, well, at least for my Indian taste buds! Very clear menu options, great lunch specials, very courteous staff!
Went in place was very busy, 25 to 30 minutes for takeaway which wasn't a problem. Ordered salt and pepper squid and small steamed rice. Got home looking forward to dinner, squid was so oily that all the coating was sliding off. Tried soaking up oil with paper towels however this didn't work. I have given up and will never recommend or return here very disappointed.
Had 2 takeaway meals for lunch of which both were very tasty. The menu for lunch is extensive. Excellent value for money. 2 complimentary cans of soft drink included in price was a bonus.
A number of people were seated for lunch on what was a very hot day.
FOOD WAS A BIT BLAND AND STAFF WEREN'T HELPFUL OR FRIENDLY UNLESS YOU WERE ASIAN I FELT. SORRY.
The appearance of the foods look exactly the same as before, however, all dishes have too much MSG now, and the taste are less tasty than before.
I have ordered Chicken/Beef Chow Mein. Taste wise it was good. But with the price they are charging the quantity they are offering was not enough.
Food took more then double the amount of time I was told, barely and meat in the blackbean, food was no where near as good as usual = (no one made sure people were checking in, most didn't, restaurant had people sitting in it and staff behind counter had his mask down.covid who? -
Must Try - This place truly was a hidden gem. I wasn't expecting much from its location, and it seemed very unassuming from the outside as it it was just another neighbourhood Chinese restaurant. Oh man, I was so wrong. The food was absolutely delicious, we started off with this amazing Chinese melon soup which you apparently have to prebook in advance (and definitely should if you know how to! - which unfortunately I don't), and had lobster (very nice butter sauce, different from the typical sauces), steamed fish (really really good, wedding banquet quality), and tofu with some greens on top (sorry, not being very helpful with my descriptions here!). Anyway tl;dr - Try this place if you like Southern China/Cantonese food!
This use to be one of the best little hidden chinese restaurants in Melbourne! But since changing ownership it's definitely lost some of it's soul. We use to religiously eat lunch here whenever we could, and would often drive for 40 minutes for the privilege. The balance and flavour of the Beef and black bean sauce, spicy salt & pepper chicken spare ribs and the salty fish and chicken fried rice made us salivate just at the thought. But since the change of ownership, there is nothing 'special' about the food any more. All 3 elements of what makes food great (Appearance, taste & texture) are now lacking. Now for the service, it was never particularly good but the ridiculously delicious food made up for it! But the new head waitress really seems to try her best to deliver a particularly underwhelming experience. This place is going downhill at a rate of knots! Very Disappointing
I discovered this outlet when I was hungry and in the area for a meeting. I took takeaway and had the food back in my office and it was good. A bit salty but the beef was cooked right.
Nice food for reasonable price.
I live close by and this restaurant is the best Chinese around Mulgrave.always busy.live the food.so much to choose from.this update is after two years.
Restaurant was clean and service was good. However, we had found that since the restaurant had changed owners, the peipa duck was a little dry and not as tender as before.
