Chopstick Delight Chinese Restaurant reviews
59 The food is ok, whereas Service is very bad. It took about 20 minutes to get a half roasted duck and after waiting for 45 minutes, we still have not get the eggplant in clay pot. When I was asking the staff how long it would take to get it ready, rather than give a rough estimate, the staff just said it was on cooking now and went away quickly.
Maybe the staff sort of felt we were waiting too long, rather than provide us the eggplant, they gave us two bowls of steam rice. What can I do with the steam rice without any dishes?)
The food is so tasty, pre-booked Pipa roast duck & winter melon soup are the must order meals. It’s really busy place on Friday night, better book a table in advance. Will definitely go back.
Definitely book beforehand, pre-order duck. Most well-known for the pipa duck which is amazing.
Good food. But staffs service was really poor. Served the wrong dishes that we didnt order. They served 2 tofu dishes but we only ordered one. Informed the waitress about the mistake but she was angry and insisted that was our mistake not hers.
For the Winter melon soup (pre ordered), it was really good in taste. It was $9.80 (
+10% service tax) per pax. We have 9 pax (4 adults, 5 kids). The restaurant served 1 portion of winter melon soup that just enough for serve for 8 and a Half small bowls. It was not enough for serving. But, she still charged us for 9 pax cost.
The restaurant served very nice food but the poor service of waitresses and waiters can ruin the business and spoil your dinner atmosphere.
Food is ok however a bit pricy, service need to be improved as paid 10% extra on Sunday. 4 dollars transaction fee was charged for a bill which is less than 200.
The food here is fantastic and typically mostly patronised by people of Chinese extraction which usually indicates excellent quality. Don’t be deceived by the looks outside. The food inside is awesome.
Quality of food has decreased. Pipa duck was undercooked and full of bones. Winter melon soup no flavour (needs more cooking time). The " boss" was not in good mood when we arrived. No service. When we left, there were many tables with leftover food. Won't be going back.
Very popular restaurant for Cantonese immigrants.
Turn the stage twice at night.seafood looks fresh
The fried vegetables are also very good.
Food was delicious! Highly recommend the Olive Vegetable Minced Meat Tofu, super yummy, and you don’t get this dish elsewhere. PIPA roast duck (preorder) was tasty with crispy skin. Other dishes we ordered were also impressive. Will definitely come back!
A bit of a disappointing meal at Chopsticks Delight. There are more misses than hits in what we ordered.
Granted, we didn’t order the “must trys” like crab w foie gras and pipa duck, but because we decided on the last minute to go there, we couldn’t pre-order anything.
I thought, well, if they are famous for ducks, then Peking duck should be good? ! Sadly that’s not the case at all. The duck took ages to come and it was already pre-wrapped, with way too much sauce, lettuce (rather than cucumber and leeks) and very (too) fatty duck meats. My usually Peking duck kid was not impressed.
Hubby ordered truffle fried rice, which is quite nice actually and kiddo’s salty fish chicken fried rice wasn’t bad either, although not much salty fish flavour.
My highly anticipated crab w egg white was a huge disappointment- it was way too salty and it tasted only of saltiness and oiliness.
The char kuey teow was even worse. I know kiddo ordered it and we asked for non-spicy, but this is just dull and flavour less.
️️️️ so sad, especially when we drove so far to eat there (thankfully because we have other errands to do around the area, otherwise I would be so annoyed!
Our Monash Gardens Retirement Village decided to have Chinese food for our 10 March 2023 Happy Hour. We ordered 26 meals, all with special fried rice, which were ready on time as promised. They were hot and everyone agreed were very tasty and enjoyable.
We will do this again later this year.
Very good food especially the pippa duck! Melon soup flavor oa good. Unfortunately, chef cheated on the preparation of ingredients inside. Should've been cook in the melon and not cook in the wok and stuff in the melon later. Some waitresses were good but one bad one that shouldn't be working there. She was rude and un professional at all. Will be back and hope service improve!
A little classic Cantonese food restaurant in the area which is suitable for family with kids and elderly. They serves a truly authentic dishes with an amazing taste and a decent price.
The restaurant has only few round tables for 8 and they were all full. I did not make any reservation in advanced, luckily, there was only one empty table in the corner. So, make sure to at least check before coming.
We ordered four dishes, a personal seafood beancurd soup for $8, a prawn claypot with vermicelli for around $28, an eye fillet beef in Cantonese sauce, and the last was the mighty roasted duck. Seriously, they were all lovely. Perfectly cooked and decently presented. With two white rice and a pot of chinese tea, it cost $122 for three people.
Chopstick Delight is one of those mythical, suburban restaurants that unless someone brought you there, you wouldn't think to visit it. From the outside, it looks a bit run down and forgotten. Don't judge this book by its cover! Chopstick Delight is a family run restaurant that's fully booked many nights in the week by loyal customers who wish this place a secret. Serving Cantonese fare, you have to pre-book their Pipa Duck, which is some of the best in Melbourne: glazed and roasted to perfection, served on a huge plate. There's freshly steamed coral trout, stir fried and various other dishes. I could go on but consider this your tip off: if you like Canton food, you want eat here!
I was driving past and saw this restaurant. From the outside i thought it was going to be a cheaper restaurant but when i saw the menu i realised that this must be a decent place to eat. The food was quick and tasted great but i still think it was a little over priced.
Small and classic Chinese food supplied, tasted really Chinese, not WESTERN style Chinese.hope it is easy be understood. No offense!

#TB this extravagant LNY meal with my Food Fam! I have been here multiple times and quality was consistent. I enjoyed most of their dishes but there are some you must try! The pipa roast duck is my all time favourite. Skin was crispy with a hint of sweetness. The meat was juicy and succulent. The melon soup was flavourful yet refreshing. We normally eat our lobsters with ginger and spring onion! But their garlic butter sauce is next level! Remember to dip your buns into the sauce! You won’t regret it. Get the Foei Gras Sauce for a boujee option! It was flavourful but not gamy at all! This sauce paired so well with the noodles! Their homemade tofu was one of the silkiest I have had! It literally slipped down my throat! Food was at the pricey end but absolutely worth visiting!
I can understand CNY is peak. But you can just charge per kid $65 that’s ridiculous! (Especially they are 6m old and 22m old kid!)
Food is ok. Perhaps the rudest services in Melbourne. They really need to train their staff some customer services skills.
Came for dinner tonight to try their whole duck, tofu and kale, winter melon soup, and claypot veggies.
I thought the duck, winter melon soup, and tofu dishes were worth coming back for.
Please note that you have to preorder the duck and winter melon soup
