Omg where do I begin. 1st of all I would NOT recommend Chisholm Institute. Do not waste your money or time enrolling. Bad Bad choice. There's other reputable organisations before you consider this one
They are nice to you before you enrol but after that.that's when the nightmare begins.
Please do your homework, check out the reviews. Once you enrol is too late. I am still waiting for my refund its been 6 or 7 months (is a joke)

I enrolled in 2020 and it took almost 2 years for me to finish my qualification even though I had RPL making up to one year of studies. I could have finished sooner but the staff is incredibly unsupportive and horrendous. I had to complete placement in x 2 different centres because the first centre kept lying that I didn't complete the tasks while I did it repeatedly and everytimg they had an excuse like the room leader changed, the new one didn't see it, we were busy, we didn't see it, we were not in the room. Absolutely not my problem, the centre was getting a free worker who they were abusing and then kept lying I didn't do my tasks. I wasted months of my life and had to look for another centre to redo my tasks. The staff was ridiculous making it difficult for me to complete simple task. The qualification that I could have complete in a year or less, took me two years to complete. Avoid at all cost.

If I could give Chisholm Institute a 0 star review I would.

From the enrolment, to the course delivery to the amount of time and effort it takes to unenroll.every step of dealing with this inept "institute" was painful.

For anyone considering doing the TAE online please read my experience below before applying.

The Online TAE course is the single worst piece of education I've ever attempted.

I've previously completed a Bachelor's degree, a Cert3 in small business, Cert 4 in Media, a grad dip in Film.and without a doubt the TAE delivered by Chisholm Online is the most disheartening, poorly delivered course I've experienced.

The assessment tasks have not been reviewed. The questions are open ended to the point where you could either write 100,1000 or 5000 words to answer some of them. Unfortunately there is no guidance as to the level of detail expected when completing the assessment tasks.

The assessment tasks 9AT) are ordered in a completely moronic way.you do AT1 after week 5, AT2 after week 3, and AT3 after week 4. Why don't these tasks align with the content being delivered week to week?

I spoke with staff about how these tasks haven't been proofread and have been unsatisfied with their responses. I was assured that the course material is regularly reviewed and updated but I can assure you it hasn't.

Another complaint is how we learn about contextualisation but the course itself hasn't been contextualised. Why am I completing weeks of assessment tasks relating to teaching a course that I have no interest in? Perhaps making the course relevant to the students is too difficult so we all do this awful generic course that isn't relevant to us?

On top of all of this, the TAE40116 I am enrolled in has been superseded but at no point during the next year will we transition to the updated qualification. I just pray for future students that it has been optimised for online delivery.

I've spent 40+hours so far, but can't imagine spending another 300+ without losing my mind.

Oh, another oddity with Chisholm Online is the number of different communication methods that are used. If I'm looking for something I'm never sure if I need to check my text messages, my email, the chisholm online app, or the message section of Moodle. Putting it all in 1 place is an obvious starting point.

Unfortunately it appears as though they won't refund my money because it took longer than 4 weeks to realise just how bad this place is.

I think ultimately the TAE40116 is a textbook on how not to teach. If I ever find myself teaching in the future and I'm wondering how to deliver something, I'll be sure to do the exact opposite of how Chisholm Online delivers the TAE.

If you've got this far, congrats. You've probably put more effort into reading this review than the staff put into teaching the TAE40116 at Chisholm.

Hi everyone,
As we all know that this place is one of the greatest places in Dandenong for recently overseas people. Therefore I have been in waiting list for almost two months. Just the day before yesterday, they message me to come and join my classes. I was really worried about how will be the first day at Chisholm! How will be the people around there! You know I was confused so much! But that time when I came to my class, I catch up my new Respected Teacher (Angela) and three were three others Joyfully Teachers either students too.
I saw their smiley faces, kindness, respect, behaving, they all were attractive, adorable. And after that there were too many Toys that they were dicribing us with much love and happiness. By the way, I wanted to give five star because they deserved that. Thanks!

Do not use Chisholm

They kept telling me my course was being postponed. Just contacted them and was told they removed the course and my enrolment isn’t coming up. They said they were going to keep me informed which they didn’t. Didn’t even have the courtesy or professionalism to let me know. And I was definitely enrolled which they’ve now tried to imply that maybe I never was to explain the fact that they just decided to not do their job and waste my time for over a year telling me yes it’s just being postponed and should start in a couple of months. Unacceptable. You think you can disrespect people with no consequences but look you’ve got nothing but terrible ratings across the board now and nobody’s going to want to go there.

But go ahead and reply with your automated response by all means.

I went three times for english certificate 3 course they put me in waiting list so after 8 months they messaged me you can come to class as i did 6 months job so nessy behaviour just need some enlargement to give more guys chance to get their wanted skills.

How about you answer your inquiries properly in detail.frustrating that you won't put complete cost of course on website if you won't answer properly.
And the website get acourse guide.you don’t!
Nothing gets sent only emails and abundance of phone calis.people want information before they decide not someone trying to talk you into something that you no nothing about

Would give a zero if I could. Student engagement team are rude and love to make things as difficult as possible. Daniel and Azra have the worst customer service skills i have ever come across. As an education provider, you would think that they want to support and set their students up for success. All Chisholm want is money. I will never recommend them to anyone in my industry or ever study with them again.

Bad experiences with two faced teachers stuck right up their own arse, others did too. As evident by the other reviews here, it's got to be the upper management that's killing it for everyone else, and it's been this way for years. Place has gone down the toilet entirely.two stars. I should give one star, but I suppose there are worse places you could study, I won't mention them!

Chisholm is the most terrible institute to study in, careers team is the worst, I’m still waiting for response from careers team to find me apprenticeship from 5th of January with numerous emails from me sent to them and no response. The teacher for my electric pre-app class was rude and told some of my classmates to shut up and the quality of education is terrible. I absolutely hate Chisholm.

I am extremely disappointed in Chisholm customer service and admin side of things.

My course was great, I didn’t need help from teachers during the whole course luckily or that would have been a whole new nightmare in itself with the lack of communication they provide.

I finished my course in June 2021, over 18 months ago and I STILL HAVE NOT RECEIVED MY CERTIFICATE!

I have chased this up over 20 times since I completed the course, each time waiting over an hour on hold to speak to someone who also turns out to be absolutely useless and tells me a different story each time as to why they cannot seem to send me my certificate.

I moved over a year ago and updated my address with them multiple times over the phone, each time the different staff member I spoke to told me it was updated successfully and my certificate will be sent out the next day.

Since chasing this up AGAIN I have finally been told that my address is in fact NOT updated and to update your details you have to send them an email. They are now claiming they posted my certificate 4 months ago to my old address after I had updated it with them 3 times prior to the date they apparently posted it to me.

They now are telling me they are going to charge me a $50 fee to post the certificate out again. Not a chance I will be paying a fee for something that is at no fault of my own, it will probably be sent to the wrong address because I have no faith in any of their staff at this point AND what sort’ve golden envelope are they sending my certificate in for it to cost $50 to send a single sheet of paper in an A4 envelope.

What an absolute joke, I will NOT be returning to Chisholm for further study and I advise others to look elsewhere for study.

Can not recommend studying with Chisholm online. The teaching was incredibly poor at times with zero support and them just reading straight from the course material with no insight. The material frequently had spelling/grammatical errors and hyperlinks that don't work. To add to this there is obviously communication issues internally as you'll be told one thing and then told something completely different when dealing with the student officers. They also decided to implement and coerce expensive "student service fees" halfway through the course.

Absolute Dumpster fire of a Company!
It's insane that they're allowed to operate. I heard it's the upper management that all the teachers and staff are leaving constantly, apparently not listening to suggestions to make it a better workplace.

They don't have enough customer support administrators, you would think that because they train so many, that they would give the qualified ones jobs? But I guess they don't hire people with Chisholm Certificates!

Customer service is absolutely Dismal. You don't hear back from anyone and it's been like this for 4+ years. I give them another go, every so often, but no still trash.
They lie about contacting you saying they "missed you" when they never make contact.
They hardly Ever Reply to email enquiries.

It is an absolute MESS, get you're act together and send this to upper management feedback.

Worst educational experience ever. Completely disorganised, unhelpful and unprofessional. From no access to modules for 8 weeks-To constantly changing teachers-to forgetting to mark modules.leading to failing units. To summarise. If you wish to actually learn something and not just obtain a self taught certificate- study elsewhere!

Put an application in to study with Chisholm institute online. They then sent me links to complete tests taking up to 2hrs of my day, which I willingly completed in order to continue my adult education.
I then spent days following up with them to see what was happening with my application as I had not heard anything other than their request to do these tests for them.
Finally after calling AGAIN today, they now tell me they don't service my area. This is online study, is it not? Why does it matter if I live in Country VIC?
Why waste my time with these tests etc, then dump this on me after I have to continually follow up. Such poor form, I am not impressed at all

DO NOT ENROL!

Chisholm Dandenong use to be great but is now going down the toilet!
Firstly the staff at the information centre have no idea what they are doing and messed up my inrollment. Not to mention the kewi guy who mangers them was kicking people out an hour before closing time so he could go home early.
Secondly the teachers are extremely incomptant not willing to help or teach and always on their phone.
Save your money and go elsewhere.

What a complete waste of my time and effort!
Enrolled into the BET course July last year and although it was a government subsidised online based course due to covid, the organisation of the course was an absolute nightmare. They tried to make me pay for it twice because they enrolled me twice, my Chisholm email didn’t work for weeks even after multiple calls to the BET department. They couldn’t work out if I was doing the Batchelor or the Undergraduate even though I had enrolled in the Undergraduate.
The engineering mathematics subject kept changing teachers who all taught differently to the reference books Chisholm had supplied for the course and when they were called out on it online over recorded video, they would state that their teaching method was right and the book was wrong. However, the test reflected otherwise and after failing them and attempting to seek support consistently I would just get shut down by both the teachers and the head of the department, Tharshan Vaithianathan.
Tharshan would constantly tell me to wait till next week but never responded or provided any support to my emails or calls. He was the original mathematics teacher and always had to leave early until he was replaced by Pinkee Dey who I believe turned up drunk to several online lectures as she would act rather inappropriately.
At one stage I told the lecturer, Pinkee that I wanted to seek a tutor and she advised me I didn’t need one and I shouldn’t have one however I kept failing the tests cause the equations were completely different to what we were being taught.
Then once I finished the course I didn’t get my final exam results. Only my course results. I had to continually request them but Tharshan kept saying they were on there but they weren’t. In fact I consulted one of the other amazing professors, Arthur and he couldn’t find them either. No one could give me my proper results and it wasn’t until I kept bugging Tharshan that he finally gave them to me after Christmas just before they closed.
Surprise surprise I failed the maths component and received an email to re enrol a weeks ago however it was going to cost $4000 because they didn’t receive funding this year. I spoke to Tharshan for almost 45 minutes today explaining the lack of support and teaching issues only to be told there is nothing they can do. So I wasted 6 months of my life and annual leave as I work full time and had to take time off to do this course. Lesson learnt though. I will never enrol in a Chisholm course again and will be going elsewhere to study my BET (which Tharshan advised I do as well surprisingly)
