China Bar Epping Buffet & Grill

My husband and I went to China Bar Signature for dinner specifically because we remembered how awesome their seafood selection was. Unfortunately this no longer exists at the Epping location. They have clearly spent a lot renovating the store to include a Korean-style barbecue function at each table. Unfortunately, the fact that they spent so much money shows with the service provided. The seafood selection has been replaced with a range of raw meats (and by range I mean about five different cuts of wagyu and a couple of different versions of pork) with very few vegetable choices for the grill. The rest of the food was extremely disappointing. Where they used to have a large range of mainly Chinese dishes available, the selection has been significantly reduced and is basically just your standard Western-style buffet. The only "Chinese" options are sauteed veggies with garlic, over-cooked western-style noodles and sweet and sour chicken. The rest is either totally Western food or finger food like you would buy in the freezer section of the supermarket. Even the dessert was disappointing - there used to be a range of ice cream flavours like black sesame and durian, but now there's only cheap vanilla, strawberry and lemon. If you want to pay $55 per person to eat pretty much nothing but grilled meat off paper plates and only get one non-alcoholic drink with the package, then go to China Bar Signature Epping. If you want Korean barbecue with a proper selection or actual Chinese food, go elsewhere.

Went past about a week ago and it was closed. Looks as though it’s been closed for quite some time.

This place use to be great with high quality service and food standards. But they all going down too much each time i visit.

Good variety of food. Friendly staff. Reasonable priced. Most seafood are reasonably fresh. Would definitely come back again.
