Chicken Central

Great tasting chicken, whether it be in burgers, wraps or strips. Chips are delicious, and tasty and healthy salads are a nice addition to round out a meal!

Have been a customer of Chicken Central for awhile now.
Unfortunately i have noticed the chicken sizes are getting smaller and smaller.
On our last order (early at 5 pm) the chicken was dry and over cooked, Chips were also overcooked (usually best part of the meal!) Gravy was Hmmm.i'm not sure looked more like a jelly paste than gravy (actually clung in container when turned upside down).
Roast vegis were also overcooked.
Not a very appetizing meal and also not cheap.
So disappointing i was a big fan.

Our family consumes 2 to 3 chickens per week, previously regulars at red rooster, $13 for whole chicken, chicken central $4 more (@$17). BUT literally double the size, more tasty and juicy!

Terrible, been waiting for almost an hour for chicken, pretty poor effort guys, even rang that store, how you can run out of chicken that $45 when coles has it all the time for $10 is baffling

Amazing chicken and chips. The amount of chips you get for your money is absurd! Also the burgers are fulfilling and taste real!

Burger was mostly bun, salad was coleslaw and rocket and chips were both soggy and uncooked.
This rubbish should be illegal!

Its that good, I've considered living off chicken central for every meal. Definitely worth a visit!

Have never had bad service here. Team members are friendly and the food is nice and fresh. Can recommend the Deluxe Burger, the Mr President burger and their new one the Jam Session burger. They can also come in wraps if burgers aren't your thing. The chips are really nice as well and the serves are very generous. Can't wait to get back again soon.

I love chicken central, I go there often and the food is so good! The prices are very reasonable and there are so many items to choose from, burgers, wraps, chips are some of the food you can get! The staff are friendly and helpful and there is indoor and outdoor seating! Definitely recommend

Friendly staff, however they always seem to run out of chicken! You need to go early (before 7.15pm) if you want a chicken or CC roll. Seems ridiculous for a chicken shop to not have chicken, but it's happened to me about 5 times now! I'm not sure why they are open to 8pm when they provide their full menu.

Absolutely delicious. Chips were cooked perfectly and they weren't stingy with the chicken salt. Best chicken burgers in the area.

Great chicken roasts and burgers. Always a good place to get dinner but I do feel it's slightly overpriced. Great customer service although the website ordering can be a bit buggy at times.

Chicken was dry and horrible. Corn tasted ok but different sizes? !? Burgers are good but expensive. Roasted vegetables are really overcooked and oily.

This place is really not your average 'chicken shop' the burgers are to die for and the chicken is of the highest quality and super tasty. There are heaps of healthy options and the salads are always fresh and exciting, cannot recommend enough!

Nice grilled chicken wings. However, shopowner please ensure there are no more than 6 customers in your shop at any point in time as per your notice on the shop window under the current Covid-19 health and safety law. When I was waiting for my takeaway order to be ready there were 9 customers inside the shop today around 1pm.

After my first visit to the balwyn store, was keen to try the one in ashburton for the new specials!
Quick takeaway service, well priced food with both items impressing me!
The 'jam session' burger was damn good! Cooked well with delicious flavor and fresh turkish bread buns which I loved!
Just could've used more heat to the combo to give it a kick for perfection!
Also got the harissa loaded fries and they were absolutely AMAZING! Cooked perfectly and flavor was a hard 10/10!
Would recommend trying these specials if able to!

The Big Fat Fried (BFF) Budget is exceptionally good with a very crispy but moist patty.

I also had "The Jam Session" burger which is also very crispy but with a nice after-burn from the Asian Slaw.

Chicken Central in Ashburton needs to work on their customer service standards. A couple of weeks ago, we ordered takeaway chicken and chips, however we were very disappointed to get home and realise that the chips were so dry / burnt / stale that they were pretty much inedible. (Even my kids who love chips couldn't eat them!) I rang the store to let them know about it and they said that I could either go back for a replacement or have the meal replaced next time I was nearby. We couldn't head back that night, so I left my name with them for a replacement meal. The staff member who took my call was lacking in customer service skills and I would have appreciated an apology, considering our meal wasn't enjoyed as chicken and chips (we just ate the chicken on its own). Today I went back to the store and unfortunately the staff member I spoke to also had poor customer service skills. She asked me to explain the problem again (I don't see why I needed to explain it again considering my name was already on a list for replacement meals they keep). She then proceeded to tell me that they would only replace the chips (seeing there was nothing wrong with the chicken). I disagreed with this decision as the meal was "chicken and chips" and we hadn't enjoyed our meal because half of it was inedible. I believe that if a store has made a mistake (serving inedible chips) then they should do something to compensate the customer for the mistake. Replacing the chips that weren't edible is not compensation - it's just a replacement. Good customer service would be replacing the chicken and chips to compensate for the disappointing meal and to try and regain the customer's trust. Unfortunately, all I received was the replacement chips, plus some attitude and eye rolling from the service assistant. It was very strange - she kept trying to wrap up the conversation by saying "so are you happy with the chips". I clearly and calmly told her that I was "not happy", however I would still take the chips and she made no attempt the resolve the matter. There was no apology for the bad chips or the misunderstanding. It was very clear to me that they didn't care whether I remained a customer or not. I will not be a customer in future because of this poorly handled incident. We were actually regular customers for many years and I feel for the Manager who can't always be at the shop to supervise his staff and their service standards. However, staff need to be trained in customer service and learn how to resolve complaints appropriately. Even if they are not allowed to replace the chicken portion of the meal - they still could have thought of something else to do or say to compensate - perhaps an apology or a free drink for my child or a coupon of some kind for next time. Anyway, they have lost our family as a customer based on their decision and attitude.
