Chez Bob Restaurant reviews
40 The food was great - I had the mussels for entree, the barramundi as main and the chocolate mouse with raspberry gelato. All was delicious!
The service was fantastic and we were very well cared for by each of the waiters.
This place was as authentic as a French restaurant can get in Australia. The starters were delicious. The mains were equally Devine. The service is what really topped it. Completely professional and welcoming atmosphere. I would highly recommend this place. 10/10
Fantastic little French spot, small but diverse menu. The Bouillabaisse was particularly good and the Rabbit pie was incredible!
We had the snails and rillettes for starters and a French Onion soup which was flavourful with a very high quality beef stock!
Lots of wine and great service, will definitely be back!
Was taken out by a friend, ordered fish but it was almost raw, didn’t want to make a fuss or embarrass my friend so didn’t say anything but it is not a cheap restaurant and the fish should have been cooked properly, very disappointed
I've been a client here for over 10 years Jean -Paul, Pasquale and the team quite simply are very good at everything they do which is why Chez Bob is so very popular.
I recently had the pleasure of hosting my wedding dinner at Chez Bob, a fine dining French restaurant that exceeded all of my expectations. From the impeccable service to the stunning ambiance, every detail was taken care of with the utmost care and attention.
Overall, I would highly recommend Chez Bob to anyone looking for an exceptional fine dining experience. The specially made Croquembouche alone is reason enough to visit, but the entire menu is filled with delicious and beautifully executed dishes. I can't wait to return and savor more of the amazing cuisine at this outstanding restaurant.
Authentic! Had a lovely night celebrating my father’s birthday. Cannot fault the service, food or ambience. A special dinner just like dining in Paris!
Great food! The dinners were wonderful and presented nicely! The main courses did not disappoint; this was authentic French cuisine at its finest. Excellent wine selection. The service was excellent, and the waiter was both professional and courteous. Sadly, I just snapped photographs of the wine and sweets, but the experience was fantastic! Definitely return!
Twice in a row have we booked only to be turned away.
First time, with 8 guests coming from NSW, Tas, country Vic and local, received phone call 20 minutes before we were to arrive, that they would not be opening - go find another restaurant for lunch.
Second time, two of us turned up having made a booking for Wed Feb 1,2023 for 12.30 to find the restaurant shut. Not even a phone call this time.
Clearly, once a great place to eat has completely lost the plot.
Loved my first visit to Chez Bob last night.
Great to be in a restaurant with intimate ambience, great service, and wonderful food. Will definitely be back when the budget allows me to have another treat.
This has been my third visit and unfortunately has gone down hill. The entrees are really good (escargots + Steak tartare) however the steak was a real let down. I wouldn’t say it was bad but had very little taste and the mushroom sauce on offer also was very bland. I unfortunately won’t be visiting again.
Decadent and authentic food delivered with incredible service in a vibrant atmosphere and at very reasonable prices - what more can you ask for! Jean-Paul was a fantastic host for our evening and made our experience a special one. We will be back tout de suite
We had a wonderful night at Chez Bob. The food was delicious, and service from staff was impeccable!
If you’re feeling like a truly French experience from waiter to food you will truly enjoy this dining experience ️ Bon Appetite
One of our favourite restaurants, the atmosphere is great and the food second to none. The staff are very welcoming and uniquely French. Steak frites is always my staple and it was perfect.
We had a special family dinner here - 16 of us! 8 adults and 8 children aged from 5 to 16. Apart from the food, which was delightful, the waiters were impressive from the moment we walked in the door. They were attentive to all and adapted their approach appropriately according to the ages of each child. Thank you for a lovely evening.
Great atmosphere with friendly and attentive service. I had cauliflower soup for entree and my companions had escargot and onion soup - all fabulous. For the main I ordered Steak cooked Australian medium not French medium. My companions also had Steak and Bouillabaisse. Both Steaks were cooked perfectly to our liking and the Bouillabaisse received high praise. I highly recommend Chez Bob and look forward to going back again.
Really enjoyed the meals here, reminded me of Paris. The escargots are on point so don’t be afraid of trying it here! Steak tartare was refreshing and a dash of tang. For mains: the soup was flavourful and plenty of seafood. The soup wasn’t thick and great to warm the tummy. Also had the duck confit - it was delicious!
Very disappointed, as we had had take out from here during lockdown and it was very good, but last night i had a very poor onion soup, main course of duck was lukewarm, served on cold plate, watery mashed potato, duck oversalted and soggy. Not pleasant. Tart tartin had soggy pastry, not cooked in pan, think it just had a couple of lumps of apple put in under cooked pastry case. For an anniversary dinner it was under whelming. Very sad.
We ordered takeaway today. Filet steak and barramundi capped-off with cream brûlée.
The steak was perfect, barramundi delightful and cream brûlée…well…amazing!
Thank you Chez Bob!
