Cheese World reviews
57Less cheese than a supermarket.hard to call themselves cheese world when there was VERY LITTLE cheese
Disappointing. Mostly readily available commercial cheeses. Larger blocks available, though. The adjacent museum is worth a visit.
It’s cheese. How could it be anything less than great? Decent sized servings of nice food at a good price.
We dropped in on the way past, Only have a small selection of cheese, the museum is not bad but nothing about cheese world
Friendly staff. The little museum was great and the staff member showed my daughter how things worked. We liked the qr codes linking to videos showing the items in use. Really nice touch. We enjoyed cheese toasties for lunch and can't wait to eat the cheeses we bought to bring home.
What a find, museum very Interesting and well displayed. Cafe, good food, friendly service. Milkshakes not cold enough. Good variety of cheese. Worth taking the time to stop for a visit.
Have waited almost 3 years for it to open again but the wait was worthwhile, had an absolute great caesar salad with a nice glass of Chardonnay. Highly recommend this place for a stop over for all visitors along the great Ocean road.
First of all I was disappointed to see the saputo sign across the street. Tell tale sign for bad cheese. Also, what’s wrong with this place, lots of tourists stopping by and they don’t even have a tasting plate on the menu. We just used the washrooms. The only people eating were locals, most probably workers. No idea why this even shows up on the tourist route.
Haven't been here for awhile and usually
stop in when passing, called in on Sunday thinking it would be opened, its not, i checked website and they are only opened 3 days during the week seems like another business has suffered the covid plandemic
You can not go wrong at this place just perfect.if you love the best of the best of cheese's you MUST visit
This place is worth a stop off. Loads of cheese to buy and tourists bits. Reasonably priced too.
Unfriendly staff and overpriced, small selection of cheeses. Only worth to have a look if you have a lot of time or need to go to the bathroom.
It pains me to say as a cheese lovers of many years that cheese world is NOT a World of anything or a place to visit unless you need a free public toilet or a feed at a expensive road side cafe. My local Supermarkets have a better selection and range of cheese. The lack of a cheese marking facilitie or factory tour is disappointing. The service wasnt great and the man behind the counter seemed flustered. The cheese tasting is set up for a one on one not a tourist flow. The shelf pricing is a little hit and miss and the prices would be lucky to be an 8pt font. Give it a miss and go to your local supermarket deli.
Poor experience. Disinterested staff who lack customer service skills. The place is a real missed opportunity for the brand, the business and the local tourism industry. We arrived ready to spend and took our money back home with us. Sad.
Very poor customer service. We waited at the counter twice and were not served. Totally ignored. Others were served immediately. Interesting that those ignored have names from different cultures based on other reviews. Although the museum was interesting, it also did not share much on the cheese making process or cheese related information. I have been to cheese factories and this is really the most disappointing.
Discriminating place and bad service. My boyfriend wanted to buy a sandwich and they told him that the kitchen is closed, although they had it right in front. Other people got served after! Discriminating place!
This place is far better than we expected. There is two free museums there that we were not expecting. The shop had free taste testing of cheese that is made on site, a lot isn't available anywhere else. Some of the cheese had been there for 20 years! There was even chocolate and fudge to taste and buy. There was local wines and a lot of other local produce available. The cafe had hot food, sandwiches and special milk/thick shakes. Although you can't see in the factory, I still recommend seeing this place. I enjoyed it a lot and I don't even like cheese! Nice free museum also.
Okay experience. Museum didn’t have much to do with cheese. Can’t tour the factory and learn how to make cheese which is Disappointing. They do let you sample the cheese before buying which was cool. Nice that it says Warrnambool on it.
A local icon. If you're in the region you must go, try the cheeses (buy heaps), and have a look at the free entry museum. You'll be taking your friends next time.
I mean, it's cheese world. What's not to like? They do taste testing if you ask. They have a large selection of cheeses and some meats that they either make on site at the factory across the road or locally sourced. There's also a milk bar/cafe that I highly recommend. A small antique-y museum at the back is worth a look too.
