I manage a nearby wedding venue and one of my couples booked Yering that night. They told me that there was no one to meet them on arrival at the desk just a map and a key. They had to find it themselves and drag their heavy bags upstairs. They were very disappointed. I think a hotel of this calibre should pride themselves on customer service and have a staff member on at nights. I will not be recommending this place to future couples.

We had our wedding recently at the chateau, the team were simply amazing and ensured all went smoothly and without a hitch. Was orchestrated beautifully by one in particular, that was Natalie. She was fantastic, fabulous and any other superlatives that you can think of. Takes her job very seriously with humour and a friendly calming demeanour. Fabulous food and breakfast. Rooms were great. All of our guests loved everything about the weekend. We highly recommend Chateau Yering for any event or even a romantic weekend.
Thank you Natalie, Olivia, Toby and all the team

Had a pre Christmas lunch here. I wouldn't rave about it. There's better places in the Yarra Valley to dine. It was expensive for what you got. No Christmas decorations in the main restaurant. Sad! Nice wines though. Will not return.

We stayed in the Stable suits. Room clean but absolutely stunk like old firewood. Everything dusty and outdated.
Pool and tennis courts dire condition and grounds really unkept.
This place needs a huge upgrade and re do. Probably wouldn't come back.

Great wines and great service. Be aware that those are very complex wines and have a premium price, and so does the tasting. If you consider yourself a wine lover and love to learn about the subject and without shying the cost, this is the place for you. If you just seek to taste some good wines, you might be better off in other great wineries in the Yarra.

Warning to anyone wanting to purchase a gift voucher. You may be gifting a voucher to the value of monetary figure, but for some reason these monetary vouchers are not valid to redeem on public holidays. So not such a great gift after all. Very arbitrary when you consider that the hotel may want to hike up prices over the public holidays (fair play), but what difference does it make to the hotel to redeem a cash voucher? Very strange policy. Could understand if the voucher was for a room for example then the hotel would lose out on a public holiday when prices go up. This way the hotel gets to take the money for the voucher, hold onto that, (money for nothing) and make it difficult to book a room using the voucher. *sigh.

What is it with the toy cats in the rooms?
They are just plain odd and scary. Decor in the rooms need to get into the 21st century. Too much floral. How about just solid colours? Felt like I was at grandma’s place in the 70’s. No curtains on the windows, just drapes. Bad luck if u want to let some light in the room in the morning. Get ready for a nudie run. Small tv. Coffee equipment in the bathroom. Why?
Dinner was average. We were a large group so set menu. Small serves. 2 out of the 5 dishes were ok.
Really disappointing.

I had my hens high tea.party here and the food, service and venue was absolutely spectacular. The staff were so professional, well dressed and went above and beyond to provide such a warm and friendly service. My girlfriends and I are truly blown away with our experiences here and we want to thank Chateau Yerring for making my hens such a memorable one!

Highly recommend the 15$ tasting menu so you can try pretty much every wine they produce! I bought the Pedro Ximinez, but all their wines were exceptional.

We stayed two nights and hosted a family dinner in the Library. We enjoyed every moment of our stay. The team treated us like family, made us feel welcome and accommodated our every need. A special shout out to Cathy who looked after our event. The food and service were outstanding.

Wandered in late arvo today from wine tasting next door to see if they were open for food. They weren’t open but totally accommodated us with the guest menu. It was such a lovely experience and I’m sorry that I missed the lovely ladies name who was very friendly and knowledgeable about the place. She even opened the doors outside to show us the historic palm tree. We just had such a lovely afternoon and are so grateful.

Quaint period hotel, good service, friendly staff. Tv in the room was pants and the hot tub needed a deep clean, but rooms were large, tidy and clean. Breakfast was fantastic.

We have stayed here a few times over the years. It has a special high class feel. Service is always friendly. On our last visit we felt the maintenance of the property and furnishings has dropped. The couches are old and stained. The gardens we're not maintained so there were weeds and overgrowth. Such a shame, would love to see it returned to its former glory along with some new modern touches.

The room was very inviting and cosy but there are little noises coming from the heating vent that made it difficult to sleep.
Elanores food was absolutely amazing! One of the best 3 course meals we have had so compliments to the chef/chefs.
The service however needs work for a 5 star hotel there seemed to be a lot of confusion between staff.
Forgetting drinks, stuffing up orders and bringing out a tables dessert before they had had mains.
The old man (Phil I think his name is) that was wandering around like Basil Fawlty although was amusing to watch at times, really does detract from the overall 5 star experience.
Probably wouldn’t rush back in a hurry.
