Charcoal Chicken reviews
55Make sure you count what they charge you. Already overpriced and this is the second time they have tried to pull a sneaky when it comes to price.
Really great place to get tasty chicken and chips. I am gluten intolerant and have never had any issues with the food, gf chips are cooked in a separate fryer and put directly into the boxes keeping them free from cross contamination.
Highly recommend coming here.
I am Coeliac and recently held a 60th birthday celebration. I heard this store had gluten-free roast chicken, so I went there for some roast chickens. It turns out they provide gluten-free stuffing in their roast chicken they can provide gluten-free Greek salad, rice salad, potato bake, we ended up having them provide all the food gluten free and the lovely lady did a fabulous job no one knew all the food was gluten free every one enjoyed the food the cost was very reasonable definitely I recommend this shop photos unfortunately aren't the greatest as people had already been enjoying the food
I tell you what! Trying to find a fantastic charcoal chicken in Cranbourne is very hard UNTIL now! Best ever chips, best ever chicken, together it was the best charcoal chicken and chips I have ever had.
Lady was very nice and told me they change the oil very frequently hence why the chips are so fluffy and golden! I have found my charcoal chicken after a long time living in Cranbourne. See you soon!
Food tasted amazing, it wasn’t processed like other restaurants, this was real authentic chicken.
The owner is lovely but the food is far overpriced and the quality is not satisfactory for the price. The hsps aren't hsps they are roast chicken on top of some chips with some sauce on top. Pretty disappointing but as I said the customer service is good.
$10 for a roll that just had chicken and mayo on it, too expensive, don't waste your time
Always wonderfully fresh chicken and chips. Our kids won’t eat chicken anywhere else other than here. Beautiful staff. Highly recommend
To be honest the chicken tasted like it fell in the charcoal. The owner looks like she is trying her best but the have to do taste test or something. That was bad.
Love coming here, their chips are on point.
Will always be a return customer.
Highly recommended.
Can't believe they don't do meals like with a burger, chip and drinks anymore.
Far too expensive now to be worth while.
Very friendly staff who helped me with the HSP order - $12 dollar pack shared with the 'not that hungry' members and they polished it off! HSP and chicken roll are a great choice.
Chicken extremely dry & whole meal underseasoned. Chose this place because of the reviews and it was a massive disappointment! Pricey for what you get- veggies were not even roasted properly
Absolutely glorious gluten free chicken and chips. I've heard stores like this existed but hadn't come across them.
Gluten free for a chicken shop means the stuffing does not contain gluten and there's a separate fryer to make gluten free, coeliac safe chips. Great stuff, I wish more places did this.
The chips were freshly made to order so they were hot, crunchy, fluffy inside and all the good things. The chicken was just as I remembered charcoal chicken, juicy tender meat and delicious crispy skin.
I also tried their chocolate mousse (also gluten free) which was really tasty. It has a rich chocolate taste with homemade vibes. It's easily two serves so it's good value for money.
Great options for coeliac diets. Staff really know their stuff! I don't have a lot of take away options that I can trust 100%. This place is amazing. Great options with HSPs, burgers, chicken and chips, most salads and sides are also safe.

COELIACS BEWARE!
Long time customer here as a coeliac to unfortunately get glutened: (I ordered chips, they were cooked in the gluten free fryer. The girl then tipped half the chips in the box and the other half in the section where they scoop them up with the scoop only for the girl to then scoop chips up and put them in the box (she must’ve been topping up my order). Been early in the day I (stupidly) assumed that’s what they do and the chips would be safe for a coeliac. I ate a cold chip and I realised straight away…that chip must’ve been cooked in the non gf fryer…I suffered effects of glutening for days. I was a regular customer here but now I don’t have any trust: (
A gluten free haven!
Since moving into the area this has quickly become our go to for delicious, affordable gluten free meals. Their charcoal chickens are always GF, just ask for GF chips that are cooked in a separate fryer. Other great GF items include their chicken nuggets, HSP (using shredded charcoal chicken) and potato bake. Definitely recommend for everyone but especially coeliacs!
Was pretty disappointed as a coeliac there is basically nothing other than chicken they said was coeliac safe - as in, just chicken on a plate. I told them ALL chicken was coeliac safe so that’s nothing special. I asked if they at least had gluten free wraps, so I could get a kebab - no, of course they don’t have any gluten free wraps or bread. I asked if they have a deep-fried chicken gluten free option. Nope - of course they don’t offer a GF option for fried chicken… They said I could have grilled chicken and lettuce on a plate and that is their gluten free option. I asked why they advertise on the sign outside that they are a gluten free shop if practically nothing they offer on their massive menu is gluten free and basically just got a blank stare back - so I walked out. What a waste of a trip!
Best charcoal chicken shop since the shop in Hampton Park had to close. Stoked that my suburb is back in delivery range again.
