Charcoal Chicken

First time going here since it’s been Bird Box & Co. Called over the phone and ordered two quarter chicken and chips and both wing pieces, young lad taking the ordered re confirmed the order no issues! Pick up, come home and both chicken pieces were leg! Seriously, how hard is it to get it right especially when you inputting on a computer and re confirming the order! Given it’s one of the more expenses chook and chip joints at least get the order right. Would maybe think one order was right but both orders wrong, when you have kids that only eat wing pieces it’s disappointing to say the least! Food was ok small pieces as well and chips were nice. Not sure I will go again

The Roast Chicken is magnificent, great salads with a huge variety and our favourite chips in Melbourne. We also love the Chicken Gyros and highly recommend the Schnitzels.
Also a friendly and obliging team working very hard behind the counter.

Wow the chicken was absolutely delicious - moist and tender! And the chips were hot and really fresh. My family had a really good experience with the take out food we ordered. Will most definitely be back again soon.

So good. My son just said it was the best burger he’s ever had (chicken schnitzel burger). Daughter loved her burger and i had a qtr chicken and Japanese slaw which was lovely. We go semi-regularly and will definitely be back.

Absolutely perfect charcoal chicken. Amazing, fresh salads and the scalloped potatoes are incredible. We are so lucky to have this as our local, it's hard to find real, quality charcoal chicken and this place smashes it out of the ball park.

Best local chicken shop i've been to in melbourne. Chicken very flavourful, great selection of salads which are excellent and generous serves. Souvlaki's are outstanding.

Been there 3 times and they stuffed up my order twice.
Second time gave our meal to someone else and my kids went hungry as they had no food left. Don’t bother with them!

Absolute shadow of it's former self when it was known as McKinnon Charcoal Chicken. Visited this place for the first time in 2 years recently and the food was revolting. Ordered the mixed gyros and spat half of the 'meat' out.

Covered in fat and chewy tendon. Absolutely revolting. I'd rather eat what my cat chunder's up at 3am.

WOW! Just found my new local chicken shop, really friendly and efficient staff. Chickens were great and salads exceptional. Will definitely be coming back.

If you ever need chips as a side for a group meal, probably the best possible place to go, decent price for large portion. Tastes 10/10 too.

The chips are to sweet and it’s a 1.20$ for 2 chicken nuggets, the chicken are very beautiful but please change the chip recipe

Best charcoal chicken shop I’ve been to.
Actually use charcoal to cook with instead of gas, unlike most others.
Good portion sizes and super fresh salads on top.

Love the open box with pita, coleslaw, grain salad, tzatziki and either lamb or chicken.
Too much (almost) to eat in one sitting!

Good flavours but way to expensive and order took forever as a few of his mates visited and my business became a 2nd or 3rd priority.

A great addition to the Mckinnon region, the chicken is juicy and succulent, service is quick even during busy hours. One of the best souvalaki I have had for a while and the salad options are amazing, fresh and healthy.

Honestly the best charcoal chicken I have ever had, every dish that we ordered was absolutely beautiful, even the salad was so fresh, the chicken was so flavoursome and tender, and beautiful crunchy fresh chips! My new local!

The GO TO take-away shop in Mckinnon and surroundings! This time, we ordered lamb and chicken gyros completed with two salads (Greek salad and beetroot, walnuts, feta, broccoli and rocket salad), chips, pita bread and tzatziki.
The meats are always juicy, the salads so fresh and very generous portions.
Overall a delicious and convenient meal!

Chicken used to be Lilydale and chips used to be gluten free, portions used to be very big. I realized there is new management.they are gone cheap.antibiotics and hormones chicken no more gluten free chips, small portions and overpriced food.wont go back there.
