Chain of Fools

Worst customer service ever! Took 20 minutes to take our order by a man. We asked questions about the menu and he didn’t have answers. We asked if it was his first day on the job but he mentioned he was “the longest serving member at the establishment”. If that was the case, how does he not know the menu? He was creepy and the jokes he made were classless and distasteful. We had another waitress reconfirm our order only to hear half our order was taken down incorrectly. We received our cutlery and they were dirty. Another 15 minutes later customers walked in after we order and they were served before us. We decided to leave and the owner chased us outside and opened the car door to yell at us. Completely unprofessional and unsafe! If you value your time and safety of your family I strongly do not recommend this place.

We enjoyed our lunch here today. The curry of the day was either beef korma or eggplant. We opted for the beef which was very good and hit all the right spots. I'd like to try their eggplant option the next time. Their burger of fools has a slight Indian touch to it, which was very tasty. Also like the papadam placed on top of the burger. The tikka salad roll is also very good.

A very different Cafe. The home made curries are fantastic and make a great change from the usual Cafe fare. Coffee very good service very personal and excellent.

Best breakfast ever had. Everything was so delicious and made with care - the cheesy potato rosti and the flavours in every ingredient were just divine. Our new local for sure!

Great place for coffee. The house made muffins are to die for. Lunch options are also really yummy.

Hands down the best cafe on the beach. Everything is delicious, the servers are friendly and the atmosphere relaxed. It can get busy for lunch but it's worth the wait! The vegetarian burger and the chai of fools are my favs!

If I could give this place 10 stars I would. The food, service and atmosphere - just superb.

Food portions were too small. The chilli egg omelette ($21) was very small and came with just 1 piece of toast. Not enough on the side of the plate to fill up with after omelette and toast was eaten.

Lamb curry was delicious but a larger serve would have increased value for money.

Everything is good about this place, great food, great value, quick service and opposite the beach! Will return!

Good customer service at chain of fools. Generous servings and quality food. Friendly staff. And the beach is just across the road! Soak in the fresh air.

Wow! I bought 2 curries today from Chain of Fools and they were fantastic… full of flavour and so authentic! Who needs a local Indian restaurant when you have curries like these? It was like proper home made Indian food… the kind our Indian friends make to eat at home. Tender beef in the beef Marsala was matched by a wonderful cauliflower and potato curry… I now want to try the lamb Korma! We ate every single mouthful, including the naan and pappadams! My fussy hubby and I were so impressed I’m going back for more tomorrow! Don’t miss out!

Their healthy juices are quite refreshing after a long walk and the toasties, burgers are awesome too!

Got an egg and bacon roll with Swiss cheese and it was $12.70 I was hungry so took it but never again that was on the lockdown menu apparently

It was a great start of the day: delicious curry for breakfast. I'm so happy i can have this during the 6th lockdown

Had come here on a cold Melbourne day after 4PM. Most cafes were closed and Chain of Fools was about to close as well but after a quick call the Manager assured us he'd stay open and made us amazing coffee, and threw in a complementary muffin too! Loved the service, the coffee and the muffin. Will definitely be returning!

Pathetic food! Ordered a gluten free veggie burger and who the hell puts oats in a vegie pattie and in the name of gluten free burger this stupid restaurant gives you a gluten free bread slice instead of a gluten free bun! Horrible food. I would NOT recommend this place to anyone.

Nice little coffee shop come restaurant, on beach Rd, great coffee and Indian food. Bubbly atmosphere, very friendly and pleasant atmosphere.

A great little place to visit for take away during lockdown. The Beef Korma curry was lovely, the meat just fell apart in your mouth, and the curry base was fragrant and not overwhelmingly spicy. Papadams and Naan came up a treat. Finished off with the Tumeric and Pear muffin. We will be back again in the future. Service staff pleasant and efficient.

My favourite mid week coffee spot. Gets very busy on weekend mornings, but foor is amazing and coffee great. Ravi is so sweet and a pillar of the local community.
