CERES Community Environment Park reviews
48A place to be involved and be part of a community. Sustainability as it's underpinning philosophy. Social justice and the area's local history and culture. A ride away distance.
Veey rundown picnic areas. People don't seem to care about when it is "communal". Rubbish everywhere, paper, cups, plastics etc. Natural doesn't mean dumping area.
Despite it being winter and a cold day we eff housed seeing this unique community garden. There were 2 bus loads of school children participating in programs whilst we were there. A lovely cafe for a hot drink after a stroll around the gardens and the fresh produce stall. It would be interesting to go in the warmer weather.
Great day out at CERES; lots to explore, be inspired by the natural atmosphere, and be entertained by the local music. Very relaxing and home to organic produce which is a treat!
The walking path is great but the cafe/market place was a bit disappointing TBH. Coffee, food and soup were below average and the staff were not very friendly. They had lived music with a young lady singing and she had an amazing voice.
Amazing produce, very interesting to walk around and read about what’s going on, and they have chickens which is just hours of viewing entertainment. Couldn’t ask for more!
After waiting 30 minutes to enter the nursery last year in the first lockdown. I was in for 2 minutes when a rude staff member said something like. 'We have people waiting, ' then made another comment a minute later essentially making us feel like we had to rush and get out. 30 minutes we waited. Rude. I have since heard from a friend a similar rude and discriminatory interaction with another staff member. There seems to be a lacking of integrity between organic environmental park and humanity and decency and what it means to be healthy.
Very nice place. Full of organic and eco friendly stuff. Beautiful plants! And very friendly personnel.
Brilliant. Great food. Excellent, well priced nursery. Amazing playground for kids. Excellent bookshop. Great day out.
It's like a dream. Staff are helpful and friendly. They had exactly what I was looking for and they have a heap of native options too.
Amazingly hidden gem great organic fruits and vegetables plus live music on weekends there's also a coffee shop
Great coffee and service at the cafe. CERES mostly seems like high density farm sheds and junk:) there's not much to do but it's a nice place to do it.
Wonderful stalls with interesting local clothes, jewellery and even microbats. Loved the cheese toastie. Peaceful walk along Merri creek too.
But it was a mad dash through the great vege GARDEN s up to the conveniences s that made the wonderful day out there a bit tricky. I was extremely glad when I finally got there though
I’ve been visiting CERES for at least 30 years, mainly just for some respite when the urban vibe gets too much. In last last ten years or so, I’ve been a regular visitor to the nursery - sometimes to buy gardening supplies but sometimes just to enjoy the layout and get ideas. It’s been interesting to watch CERES development over the years and I look forward to watching for many years to come
A nature haven, a short trip from Melbourne city.
On a fine Melbourne autumn day, we took tram 86 to the end of line, and then it's a short walk to Ceres. Yes, there's a cafe, market, organic shop etc. What we enjoy most is walking around, soaking up the greenery, and finding nooks and crannies for quiet moments. And then we took a stroll along Merri Creek towards Ottery Reserve. From there, its a short walk to take tram 11 back to the city.
A very relaxing circuit to soak up nature from the heart of Melbourne.
CERES, is great place. They have stalls every Saturday from 9: 00am to 3: 00pm.
They also have Courses you can attend. They also have restaurant you can coffee, tea, soft drinks and they also have cakes etc. And you can walk around and see vegetables ground on their land, Chickens with their eggs, and play - ground for your children.
I love visiting Ceres! The cafe, grocery, markets, gardens to stroll, plant nursery. As well as the range of small community groups that use the space.
We have been hired for our mobile bar service for weddings on a couple of occasions now, we love this venue. Outside space, a large decking area to host your guests. Get in touch with them and they will help with your DIY wedding. Thanks for having us, Kim - Little Happy Hut
Must admit serving coffee was such a wait outside. One staff member serving asking the public stand outside while other public going inside w Masks buying organic product was okay to do. Why cant coffee buyers do the same? Coffee
