Was a good night, friendly staff. Poker night on the Friday was fun. Cold beer and great food. Will go back again

We went out for dinner one night of our 5 in Ballarat so really hoped we'd make a good choice.
Cake yards inn did not disappoint. The staff and other patrons were friendly. A lot looked like regulars which is always a good sign.
The waitress was lovely. We had 2 different pizzas, garlic bread and a buyer chicken. All the serves were HUGE but we were offered the option to have our leftovers packed in takeaway containers, which we accepted. The meatlovers pizza was absolutely loaded with meat. They happily obliged leaving the toppings my kids didn't like off even though this meant my 6yo only has ham and cheese‍️. The garlic bread was AMAZING.
I had the butter chicken which again was a very generous serve complete with flat bread and poppadum. Rice was perfect. Chicken delicious and melt in the mouth. Dessert was Icecream and chocolate mousse. But completely devoured.
If we were in ballarat again, we'd definitely return

Great food. Parma was very nice and well presented. The meal size is adequate for myself but possibly a little large for the average person

Nothing beats the Cattle Yard's pasta. Pair it with someone and you have yourself a perfect dinner.

My order was incomplete when it arrived. I phoned and told I'd get a replacement immediately. After 30 minutes I called again. This time was told there was nothing he could do as he had no driver available. After a further 30 minutes another call, only to be told bad luck and hung up on. I found the owner rude, unreasonable and unprofessional. We all make mistakes but it's how we deal with them that matters and the mistake was simply ignored. Won't be back as its too expensive to pay for food you don't receive.

Tried the carbonara fettuccine tonight. Generous serve, very tasty. Had good pizza in the past from there too. Good food and prices and can get alcohol delivery

Really good hearty meals, great staff, reasonable price. I've eaten in there and had delivery quite a number of times and never once regretted it. When you want a solid, safe option that'll please everyone you go here

Thought we would support a local on the first day of another lockdown as we understand how this has affected local business. Haven't used their Menulog delivery until tonight and haven't ever eaten there yet. Pretty disappointed actually. Pizza was so oily and the salami so salty. We ordered a normal GB and it came with cheese on top? The chicken caesar salad said it came with anchovies, but none in sight, very little parmesan cheese and only a little dressing. I'll call it our donation to Cattle Yards Inn during the lockdown.

I went here more than a year ago so it might've changed, but I think their curries are delicious.

We had lunch here and was rather surprised on the quality of the food for the price you can't go wrong with a main meal and a wine/soft drink for $9.90. The serving a quite large and you can also help yourself to a vegetable/salad bar. I hihgly recommended this place.

Totally incorrect order, owner was pushy and argumentative and eventually refunded the bare minimum. Not the first time but usually its only slightly wrong so we'd deal with it. This time they lost us for good

Meals are very well presented. The steak came out on a very hot sizzle plate and cooked to perfection (medium-rare) and the banemarie was hot and full.

Consistently delicious - recommend the pizza with its generous toppings. Also love that they offer delivery of food and alcohol on menulog.
