Castello's Pakenham Hotel

Great range of food to choose from.
Not a fan of the bright spotlights in your face though

There is no visible signage from the highway at night. On the side street there is a small sign saying Costellos. The in the car park there is a large sign saying Pakenham Hotel! The branding and signage at the place is terrible and utterly confusing. Then to add to the confusion, ice cream isn't at the dessert bar, it's at the actual bar!?
I can't eat pork for religious reasons. I asked for some roast beef but if it could be carved on a fresh cutting board and knife etc. The chef in the servery was not interested in helping me and hand balled me to one of the other chefs. I explained my request and his response was that they couldn't guarantee no cross-contamination as the 2 Meats are cooked in the same oven anyway. It was evident he wasn't really interested either. The renovations inside are great! And the other food seemed ok. But much room for improvement.

I liked the atmosphere of this country hotel table setup and seating was good self service choice of mains and sweets was good on the down side the main courses Eg roasts and vegies Not hot enough although all cooked well, Sweets plentifully displayed and good quality very good, the serving bowls all children size the cost, Athough we asked for seniors was $29.50 a head Not Impressed

Awesome customer service by staff n manager here n food was good. Only issue was roast was very dry otherwise everything else was good

The staff are friendly food is great you can get bar meals or got to buffet all you can eat $30

Kids play area is so nice and clean too and kept the kids busy.

So impressed we even booked a birthday lunch.

Love Castellos, they have a great buffet. If you like to pick your own food and serve yourself great pub. Kids loved it and they loved the ice cream.

Went here at 1: 30pm sign on the door said 7 days a weeks from 12: 00pm to 2pm, and the bistro was shut, so we asked in the pokies and apparently Monday and Tuesday are different days

It's a nice All-You-Can-Eat Buffet Restaurant. Food is delicious and currently being served to you by chefs due to divide which means the wait time is a bit longer.

Cooks served you the food from the smorgasbord, you are not allowed to handle the food yourself. You had to wait in the queue to be served, isn't this a concern in itself? Food quality, and limited choice of food, not as good as it has been in the past. Staff service was good, environment clean.

You get little food. I ask for mav and cheese and got 4 mouth fulls. I ask for chips and get 5 chips. Never go back. I never had 60$ of food maybe 10$ the wait to get your food was about 20mins and to get enough for a kid given to an adult. Never again. Wasted night. I didn't want to line up for another 20 30mins. I just got out of there got takeaway on the way home.

Considering the covid safe measures it was well done.music was a bit loud but that is probably to discourage patrons from sitting talking once they were finished their meal

I get that there is COVID-19 restrictions the food was okay I did like the dessert however the staff serving us was so rude and served our food in a rude manner. In terms of food selection it was very limited and the staff that were on actually were rude I was not happy with the customer service very disrespectful in the way they spoke and how they had served the food on my plate. I will not be coming back here again. I will have to look for another place to dine but definitely not Costello’s. Costello’s You’ve let me down due to staff (chefs working behind the food buffet).

Great food and really good playground for the kids. Staff were friendly too which is always a huge bonus.

Food was below average for the price. The kids didn't even enjoy the desserts. Waitress dropped cutlery onto the table in a pile. Wont recommend or be returning.

Not a bad little pub.
The buffet was a bit bland.
The pokies are small and understaffed but the staff they do have have on are great!
The sports bar is very nice, although they are lacking a pool table

No substantial vegetarian or vegan mains. I ended up eating chips, wedges, roast potatoes, spring rolls and curry puffs. Half the salad bar isn't vegan, but you can get leaves, sliced capsicum and cherry tomatoes. Dessert options was a bowl of fruit. Staff also wouldn't let me not pay/not eat, and were unable to advise what options were available before paying. Kitchen staff seemed sceptical at whether or not options were vegan - did not confirm oil.

Good parma, good chips. Nothing particularly noteworthy apart from the food. It's good pub grub

All you can eat buffet was absolutly repulsive food was not hot at all no flavour won't be back in a hurry
