Castello's Pakenham Hotel

It was our first time dining out for Christmas lunch and it was wonderful, the staff could not be more helpful and we thoroughly enjoyed the food, very well done. I would highly recommend this.

Had a lovely buffet lunch with the family the grand babies stuffed their little faces. The food was really nice. My only dislike was they put rosemary on the potatoes, and I love my potatoes but couldn't eat them because I hate rosemary, lol.
Other than that, it was great.
I'd definitely visit again.

Nice atmosphere. Food nice. The only turn off is the guy standing at the dessert bar looking like a security guard and feel as though we were being watched

The magnificent smorgasbord was extensive and delicious and the soup amazing. My friend went to congrat the chef and came away with the recipe!

Went to the buffet today beef was tough, pork was tender, green lipped mussels were inedible dry and tough praws were yuck salads were unappealing and horrible even the fried rice wasn't cooked properly only desert that was half decent was the trifle, fantastic venue, but badly let down by the poor excuse for cooks I have had better meals in a roadhouse,

This is our fave Friday night hangout! With two toddlers, it is one of the easiest places to have a meal while keeping them occupied. Under three eat free and Friday nights usually boast some children entertainment - although I am not above having my own face painted! Great buffet selection with a good selection of savoury and sweet. My kids are fussy eaters but even they are tempted enough to leave with full bellies! You may want to book in advance- especially during busy seasons but they have an easy online booking system.

A wonderful first time experience few weeks ago. Staff were super friendly and helpful food was fresh and top ups were made on request. Will be visiting over the holidays.

Seafood bar doesn't look pleasant at all the seafood salad does not look like one at all didn't have any of that, then made my way to the salad bar and picked up some coleslaw salad one of the worst I've had and FFS green beans as a salad, toss those tomatoes over the bloody leaf salad you got sitting all lonely there also that great fetta looking cheese thats mixed in with the beans, make some Greek salad out of it. Also dressing options weren't the best. Oh btw the guacamole had super soft tomatoes in it that tasted really bad. Last but not least the fruit platter was not topped up and the sticky date putting is not a sticky date pudding it just didn't taste right.

Overall staff were great but a bad food experience.

Sam in the Drive Through bottleshop is absolutely lovely. Well spoken, professional and friendly. She also recommended a delicious Pinot Gris. 100% recommend her customer service.

Disappointed with a particular bar employee last night. Not only was he rude but he asked on multiple occasions for I. D from my colleagues who were strictly buying non-alcoholic drinks. Either change your RSA Policy or get yourself a more capable bartender. Won't be recommending Costello's to my friends and family in the future.

I got robbed and security kicked me out and would not look at the security video the last place I would go to bad place be careful

You are undoubtedly the best in your field.

Normally I am not in the habit of ever doing 5 stars, cos no one is perfect, but this establishment is the exception to that rule,

From the moment you set foot in the door you are greeted by staff, but it feels more personal, like family, nothing feels like it is too much trouble, it is not just staff "doing there job ", it goes above and beyond that, and has a genuine feel to it, the manager even came over, and genuinely thanked us for choosing to dine here today and he really meant it, and, he went around, and did this with everyone,
there is a large kids playground, Seating is spread out, so you don't have to sit on top of other people, everything is very clean everything is thoroughly wiped and cleaned properly once people leave.
If you are one of those people that worries about buffet restaurants, please just try this one once, it is above common standards that seems to be typical of some other similar restaurants and very well presented.

The food is not only exquisite in appearance, but also in taste, flavour, texture, and temperature, everything is just perfect, and I mean that.the vast quantity of choice and the quality of the food is second to none. I actually could not find
one little fault with anything.if I could afford it, I would eat there at least 3 nights a week and never get bored, there is so much variety, and you really do get what you pay for, it's worth every cent.thank you very much.

definitely worth every cent for the meal, fantastic quality meats and desserts.we got an excellent table, with the staff being very helpful and accommodating with our odd request for the location of said table, with excellent service the entire night.the staff also gave some fantastic drink reccomendations, just a perfect night all round.

First time we have eaten here since the renovations & I couldn’t recommend it more highly.
We only had simple dishes (Calamari, Burgers and Fish & Chips) but each dish was delicious. Cheesy Garlic Bread was awesome, the burgers & chips were cooked to perfection & the Calamari was spot on.
We loved the Big Kids menu concept as we have two 12 year olds & the kids meals are too small but the adult meals are usually too big.
A couple more tap beer options would be nice but that’s not really a complaint.
We will definitely be back

The service was fine, however the food itself was atrocious.
Most of it was cold, stale and not edible and to top it off, I spent an hour over the toilet vomiting up my guts only 5-6 hours later with food poisoning.

Never going back again!

WHY! The new renovations to Costello's 2021 What a huge disappointment the cosy Gas fire place gone now feels cold.
Convenient bistro bar gone now have to walk to the other side of the venue menu gone all fancy nothing much normal meal choices well menu for kids thier is none.

We had a great night in the international buffet, food was delicious and big variety, very reasonable price, warm and professional service, we have been there 2 years ago was good but this time we felt a big improvement in everything, thanks for everyone made our night a great experience.

Great food, was all fresh and super tasty.
All the staff were friendly. I had a great mothers day there and will definitely be back again.

No need for a chef mostly frozen food, I guess those who can't cook, they'd love it give it a wide berth
