8 months ago (4-star) : This branch buys much higher for retro video game items, so it's worth checking out multiple Cashies if you can. One branch can buy your item for $3 while another branch can buy the same item for $15. If you find your product is valued higher in another branch, they are happy to match that price.

I think it depends on the expertise of the staff valuing your item and Michael from Elizabeth St is genuinely knowledgeable, specially when it comes to electronics and gaming.

Sep 2023 (1-star) : Michael has since moved on and I will probably not sell anything to them after this last transaction. Doug is nice, but the way the business is done overall is literally highway robbery.

They say they buy at $15 so they can sell for $30, but pricing for the same item in different branches are all over the place. One branch sold the same item for $60, so not sure how their pricing works. Pawnshops should be regulated. They pretty much share the same nasty rep as landlords/real estate agents.

Only sell your item if you just want to get rid of it. Otherwise, they just buy it from you next to nothing.

Okay, just to let everyone know this place is just a cesspool, I'm sorry to say but the staff are just rude, prices are crazy, if try and get a refund good luck. This place is a joke.
Best bet is to buy it new, u get a warranty and piece of mind. RIP

All staff have been friendly and accommodating in the 4 Cashies I've visited within my vicinity. Elizabeth St branch is also the largest with the most selection of items.

Cheers!

A pathetic shop with pathetic people. Every single time I go to sell anything over there, they either offer a ridiculously low price or just say due to low demand we can’t buy them. Their website or policy does not state anything as such
Even after I told them that I cannot see any of the item I wanted to sell in their store the lady at the counter says that they have many at the back.
Just simply state on your website what you can buy and what you can’t

Wonderful customer service. Atrocious pricing for most products. I feel the convenience of location doesn't correlate to the unsuitable pricing.

Pretty bad customer service, the girl on charge is very rude, we bought a product that unfortunately did not work and when we returned 24 hours later they did not want to return the money. I do not recommend the service here.

Absolute waste of time.
I took in two collectable coins from the Royal Australian Mint (the Perth Mint where all Australian coins are made). I was hoping to borrow some money against them.
I believe these coins originally retailed for about $100 and $80 and were still in their original packaging with certificates of authenticity etc.
They didn't even look at them and just said "We don't deal with them because we don't have the space in our storeroom".
(Of course this makes no sense so there must be a different reason and they just bullsh*ed me to get me out of the store. I mean, I was well dressed and well spoken, but probably starting to sound a bit offended.)
He also mentioned they don't deal in sports memorabilia either.
Most of the store is filled with electric/electronic junk, so if you need a loan it seems you are better off bringing in some bulky old out of date electric junk than anything small and valuable. Although, to be fair, they did also have a display of jewelry.

Imagine agreeing for a deal before hand and then upon arrival being greeted by a much different price tag. Whoever runs this place is terribly good at wasting customers time

The reviews written in the past doesn’t do justice to the current staff. Will and his team members were friendly and helpful.

Also on a side note, as it was my first time visiting I didn’t have any ID on me. Not only the team members waited 20 mins for me; I was greeted and assisted twice with the same enthusiasm. Consistency is rare in customer service industry especially when you visit a store twice in an interval of 30mins.

Shop is small in size but it's quite contemporary. I have no complaints. Michael has been really helpful, professional & prompt. I have dealt with other team members in the past and they also were quite knowledgeable, friendly & helpful.

Today I received excellent customer service from one of the staff ‘Nancy’

She really took the time to show me a range of items and helped me find the best item for my budget

Thanks for the excellent customer service at the Elizabeth st store

They are friendly only when it benefits the store but when you are on a dire situation they tend to go back to procedure mode even though you've been a long term customer I think that's unprofessional.

Friendly and knowledgeable staff with a wide variety of products, worth checking out for any camera people, musicians, video game hobbyists & tech enthusiasts. Standard competitive cash converters prices, but you’ll find the odd deal amongst things if you know what you’re looking for.

Absolute ripoffs.fake hope and unfair customer sympathy, prioritizing themselves over cystomers.never EVER go to these guys.hope they all go bankrupt and close down as quality means nothing to them!

Great sevice, but. Lock down has made it hard to pick up my layby. Tried to call the number they have displayed for help during the lock down but it just keeps ringing with no answer! So I've sent an email. Hope I get an answer to my problem.

Like any other cash converters you can find overpriced old items.as well as great deals, you just have to know what exactly you're looking for:)

Just like all cashies, they are reliable and will give you a reasonable price for what you bring in, I have frequently also been the smith street cashies and found that they were a little better there, although I say this so that perhaps you guys at the Elizabeth street store might try to adjust to be closer to how the other store works, but it’s just an idea!

Overall if you need the money it’s a great place for the quick cash, as well as their option for cash loans.

Thanks

I made a purchase online from this store. The item was reasonably priced and posted to me for a good price. Very happy with the service, thank you!

The worst cash converters and staff I have ever encounted. They do not explain there policies correctly and give only partial information. Basically they tell you half truths to get a commission. Not the way to conduct a business. Unethical!
