They even came out and laid it on New Year's Eve, to look after me because they knew I wanted the whole house finished before my wife returns from overseas. I was recommended to use Carpet World Hallam by the agent managing my rental property. Initially the experience was good until after the carpet was laid. Upon inspecting it I noticed dark lines in every room. Thinking it was the joining seams I contacted the company to be told it was pressure marks from the way the carpet had been stored and they would go eventually. While I wasn't happy with this I vacuumed the carpet several times and the marks did start to go. However, I also noticed that my newly sanded and coated timber floors had scratches and drag marks all over them. No one else had been in the property after the carpet layers until myself inspecting the carpet. It was very obvious that the carpet had been placed on the floorboards and then dragged into the rooms where the carpet was to be laid. Despite there being carpet fluff and fibres all over the timber floors, when I told the company that they had caused damage to the floors the owner of the business completely dismissed my claims denying that the carpet had been placed on the timber floors (despite the fact that he never attended the property) and even sent me a very rude email saying I had no right to accuse his company of causing any damage. The agent who had referred Carpet World Hallam even sent an email to them with photos of the damage and reiterated that no one else had been in the property as she had the keys and knew who they had been handed out to. Despite this the owner has refused any responsibility for the damage leaving me with the cost of repairing the floors. I found the attitude of the owner to be appalling. He didn't bother to come to the property to look at the damage, in fact he never went to the property at all, leaving everything up to his contractors. Last year I had carpet laid by
Carpet World in Mornington at another property. They were very professional and did a great job. I wish I had gone back to them.

Very experienced family owned business with a brilliant team, great quality results. The Owner John is brilliant and friendly, and only utilises the most experienced, diligent and professional installers who will make you very happy at the end result.
I cannot recommend John and the team at Carpet World any higher.

Great value for money and carpet feels great with the upgraded underlay, friendly service and quick communication turn-around from John. Would have been nice if the installer cleaned-up/vacuumed after the job was complete and re-hung the drape that he dropped when moving it out of his way prior to the tenants moving into the home, there was no offer to get these 2 issues rectified and left to me to do. Would have been 5 star rating other wise.

Big thank you to John, Dave and the team. We are very happy with our carpet and the time and advice given to choose it. We will be back next time we need flooring.
