Carlisle Seafood reviews
66Love this place! Always seem to give me one extra potatocake than I ordered which is very nice. There is not much of a wait and the prices are very low, not to mention the amazing quality. This place is a must if you are ever in the area!
Took a long time (25 minutes) for just minimum chips. Also a small portion for the price. Won't be visiting again
It is difficult to get oilier french fries anywere. The grilled fish had a fat crust of flour and egg which tasted similar to the batter and was as oily. Maybe I just got there not on their best moment but it was very poor.
Five stars. Potato cakes are a bit weird but otherwise everything else is always delish! Fresh! Perfectly cooked.
The food here is very good, my only criticism is the styrofoam containers for the salads that can't be recycled. I'm sure that people would pay a bit more, so the shop can buy a biodegradable option.
This shop actually sells fresh fish and does fish n chips capitalising on the fact that sell fresh fish. I was lucky years ago that through work at the time that a friend took me there with the line that I would not be disappointed, and he was right. 30 years later and guess what if I'm in the area I will drop in and grab something to eat. And while the health nazis those who tell you what is bad one week can be good the next in moderation of course will scream unhealthy I say more for me. The people who run run the place now have kept the original owner tradition of serving quality food. I would always go to the fish n chip's store and how lucky are the locals, to get a burger and chips especially if it's open rather than the other store down the road that the pattie looks like they just added water and stirred it to become what it is lol did I say that out loud. Just kidding both stores serve their purpose, but the fish n chips one serves a higher purpose. I can't say that I've seen it not having 3 or 4 customers waiting so that fact alone goes to show you why people still go to the local fish n chip's store. And still it the best take away food as far as money value goes. This is to the lucky residents of the area keep supporting the store and it will be there forever. It's not a easy job it's extremely hot n summer and I'm sure that fish n chips smell would be hard to get off at least winter you only have to put up with the smell of fish on you and hard work. And a big thanks to the staff that work there. And to the people who visit the area for the nightlife nothing tastes better after a few drinks especially if you want to continue drinking than a real burger Keep those stores alive everyone
A TYPICAL OLD FASHION FISH AND CHIP SHOP. Good range of tradational burgers, fish and chips. The range of fresh fish is impressive and fresh. Prices are very reasonable
My only complaint is that during winter the shop is freezing,
I've always enjoyed a burger or some fried fish from this restaurant and it has been satisfying but recently I've been indulging in the oysters and I have to say they are some of the freshest and tastiest oysters I've had local to my area if you live in this area I recommend you get your oysters from here.
Thank you Carlisle seafood
This place is the real deal. Old school fish, chips and burgers. Fish is market fresh and delicious. I can't recommend the scallops highly enough. Battered fresh right in front of you. Yum! Generous portions too. Best I've had in Melbs.
Solid fish chips Flake is great and restored my faith in Fish chips.
Potato cakes great
Did I mention the food is great
Best fish and chip shop ever! Always friendly service. Food always amazing. Highly recommend if you want some good old classic fish and chips!
Best fish and chips! Always super fresh and tasty, great simple salad also and everyone who works there is always lovely.
Classic Aussie fish and chips shop.
I had the burger with the lot, which is exactly the flavours I grew up with.bacon, egg, lettuce, tomato, grilled onions, BBQ sauce and beef patty between toasted buns.
Potato cakes with chicken salt. OMG so so good.
This places brings back the nostalgic feelings of summer nights! Must visit if you’re in the area. Two thumbs up
Would probably ask for grilled fish if I went there again. Not a fan of excessive, greasy, crisp batter. The potato cakes had more batter than potato. Served in box and paper bag, with lemon wedges, which was nice. Nice staff and pretty fast service.
Wooow!
Well it was not only delicious but also cheap! 16 Dollars for LEMON SHARK with salad and fries is absolutely fair.
Everything was well prepared and cooked.
Thany you so much!
Some of the best fish and chips in Melbourne: crispy chips, chunky potato cakes and sweet delicious flake.
The best chippy in town. Great fish, delish chips, potato cakes, seafood sticks etc etc and WONDERFUL service.
Can't rate this place highly enough
Love this place! Great service and amazing fresh seafood, my partner and I come here all the time. Haven’t found a better place in Melbourne.
Fresh fish and salad. Prise is affordable. I really like their fish salad combination. None of the other fish places makes that combine menu.
Worst fish n chips I've ever had in Mel, Syd and Hobart.over cooked chips (not sure how many customers had been served using the same pot of boiling oil?), burnt fish (and battered instead of said grilled), Greek salad which is so salty and with so many green capsicum that could hardly be forced down my throat). I understand u r busy, but I am surprised u only need one-off customers (most anxiously wait for 30-40mins) ? !
