Captain Melville reviews
51Ordered the angus steak and chicken schnitzel, both were perfectly cooked, steak in my all time top 5! Service was excellent, and staff were very warm and friendly. If coming to Melbourne, this is the pub to visit!
If youve never been to captain melville and you love melbourne its a must go to be in the iconic always busy restaurant in the best city in the world.great menu great people exceptionaly clean place.thanks guys see you for the next function
I just want to thank all the staff at captain Melville. We had my sons 21st party here and all I can say it was awesome venue staff food drinks perfect.easy to work with and staff made the run so well. 10 out 10. Highly recommend awesome.
Drinks were forgotten for 40 minutes
When inquired, wasn't happy to have to make them. Did not taste very nice
I had a warm cider which was unique and nice, also the bartender was pleasant to talk to. Not to mention it seems to be open till the asscrack of dawn which is cool.
Clean tidy place great service.cashless no person to person contact not even payment all done by phone.
Awesome old pub, stacked with a great range of craft beers, affordable modern menu and friendly service! An inner city gem! Love the place!
This a good place for a large crowd. I have been here for a couple of work lunches and with more than 20 colleagues. The burgers in this place are good.
Amazing bar food and the most satisfying selection of beers on tap. It's gets pretty crowded at times but love coming there off peak times because it's fun to chat with the staff and they give great advice on the beers.
Nice atmosphere, good food and good price. I had the mascarpone Semifreddo as dessert and it was delicious!
Excellent service and atmosphere, the staff go out of their way to please, the amenities could use a little bit of improvement but otherwise a very enjoyable place.
Outstanding parma, good beer selection, plenty of space for the CBD, attached to a great cocktail bar.
Friendly staff, delicious food and a lovely private space out the back for functions.
A great selection of ciders and beers on tap as well.
Big fan of this place. Well, I at least really enjoyed their trivia night! The host was super entertaining but the questions were better suited to a 'mature-aged audience'. Regardless, a really fun night out with colleagues.
In terms of food, I've only ever ordered the vegetarian dahl which is SUPER DELISH! No complaints from me! It's not how most places do it (just spiced lentils with rice- OH NO!) - They have all these yummy pickles in little bowls, a good serving of roti and of course the dahl. It's SO nice but really filling!
I've only been here for work functions, but it's good to know that they do a fab job catering for the masses! Would recommend to anyone wanting a chill place for a catch up that's not too busy and consistently does a good meal!
I'm here every month or so for a meetup. The staff is always nice and, while the food is mostly your standard pub grub, it is good. I also appreciate that Capt Melville give us a private room for a meetup every month.
Was quiet but just the way I like it. Good undercover environment that provided an outdoor like atmosphere. I had the fish and chips which was tasty with crunchy chips.
Always wonderful staff with a great knowledge of the beverages they serve, and the food is wonderful too.
Had a steak which came with chips and veggies. Your stock standard pub meal. Friendly service and reasonably priced. But the back room which is a fairly large space smelt like old vomit.
Great place in the city that's open late, has a good selection of beers and multiple areas inside and out to eat, smoke, drink. Whatever speed you want you can find it there, music inside, quiet courtyard restaurant and balcony to look out at the city
Great little pub next door to our apartments. It's craft beer only here folks, so don't go looking for a Carlton Draught here. I fell in love with the dark ale, and I'm not usually into this kind of thing. We went here firstly out of convenience, and there aren't many pubs in the Melbourne CBD. I ended up back the next night though, as the blokes behind the jump were friendly and could have a laugh.
