Captain Baxter St Kilda Beach Restaurant & Bar

Such a fun and beautiful place! Celebrated my 22nd on Saturday here and we had the best time, felt like we were overseas

The woman serving us told us aggressively at the end of the brunch that she couldn’t serve us any more alcohol cause we hadn’t eaten enough of the food. Made everyone feel quite uncomfortable. I’d avoid if possible

Lovely restaurant and the staff were so friendly, professional and attentive. Unfortunately the music was so loud it made it social very difficult for our group. Very expensive too.

Came here for the bottomless brunch and it was amazing, the vegan menu was incredible and so delicious! Our waitress Aimee was super lovely and ensured we were all well looked after!

Was able to watch a beautiful sunset prior to my groomsman dinner, announcing the nominated bunch. Had an amazing waitress Tilly who was super open and bubbly who made the dinner experience top shelf. Food was just above average, much like the price! Would recommend. Made to feel welcome on arrival, then spoilt by the service & our selection of food & drink from the menu.

Came for bottomless brunch which was so delicious, food was lovely and high quality, although may not cater to everyone’s personal preferences with a more Asian style menu. Drinks were delicious and staff friendly! Could have a slightly more lively atmosphere

The food at the place was decent for the price and the ambience was amazing. However, some of the bar staff that I met didn't know their basics. For instance, I asked 7 shots of cafe patron for the table and the bottle was behind the bartender but the just didn't know what cafe patron was.
And upon giving it to me, he poured the shots to me at the 20ml mark. I did not say anything as he seemed quite nervous but I personally feel the bar staff could use a little training or someway what extra attention to detail methodology.

Did the $69 boujee brunch. First 3 dishes were amazing then the noodle salad and flank steak were very average. The steaks chilli sauce was gross actually. Nice view, lovely setting and clean. Wait staff ok, could possibly communicate between themselves more prior to interrupting conversations to ask if we’d like another drink as more than once they’d already been ordered.

Had my 40th Birthday here and loved every moment. The food and drinks were delicious, the staff are amazing and the venue is gorgeous. Highly recommend it!

Fabulous food with divine flavours and 1st class service. Michael our waiter was so friendly and helpful.enjoyed a chat and then they brought out a sorbet birthday dessert with a candle.sang happy birthday and really made a special occasion extra special.

Had booked a table at Captain Baxter and what a beautiful experience we had. Food was delicious service was attentive as we were on a time crunch with a show across the way. Would definitely recommend going for a night out

What an incredible experience from start to finish! From initial inquiry, to support all the way through the planning process, helpful advice and organisation of our private room and quick and easy communication! Then the day itself- the bride was overwhelmed with how beautiful everything was. The drinks were flowing, the vegan boujeè brunch was incredible and I loved the touch of allowing us to buy bottles of bubbles for all the tables with glasses for all the guests. We had the most wonderful afternoon and can’t wait to come back!

The food here is so delicious and generous and the cocktails are amazing. The ceiling to floor windows provide spectacular views of the beach and ocean and the service by staff is always top notch. Have been here so many times and will keep coming back. The music and decor of the place - just perfect.

Thought it would be better by looking at the ratings but very disappointing.
The cocktails are not great either.
We waited over 45 minutes for the main to arrive.
The music was so loud felt like a night club with the floors trembling and yelling because couldn’t hear or have a normal conversation.
Waiter where are you? Still waiting on my drink that they had to fix! Shocking!

Great atmosphere, tasty food, paid parking available close by, friendly and switched on staff, food arrived quickly. Staff were understanding when we arrived 10 minutes late. Highly recommend for a special dinner out.

This place is absolutely beautiful. The views are stunning, the food is amazing and the staff are so helpful and friendly. I come here regularly and I am not stopping anytime soon, would recommend highly!

Food was lovely, the service was attentive and it was a no-fuss eating & drinking experience. However, I’d booked well in advance and used the form-provided fields to indicate this was a special occasion and requesting a table by the window.

We were seated next to the bar instead, even though we arrived early enough in the day that most of the tables were empty. The steady stream of outside deck partygoers completely ruined our experience. The music from outside was intrusive and later in the evening, the music was also played inside.

On a weekend, this place is the place to be and be seen for Melbourne’s Eurotrash crowd. If you’re expecting an upmarket experience, this is not the place for you during the day on a weekend.
