Capricho Grilled Chicken - Ballarat reviews
35 We are visiting Ballarat and we were looking for a Halal chicken place.
We were happy we found a Capricho in Ballarat!
Unfortunately, we weren't happy with their service! And we asked for the air-conditioning to be turned on. They turned on the one facing the kitchen, not the one we were sitting under. Mind you, today is 33c in Ballarat. Their restaurant seems 42c we couldn't sit and we. We left
Won't be coming again!
We went there for supper. The ambiance was not very appealing. So we decided to take some food and go to a park. Their grilled chicken and chips were good but not the coleslaw. It was just a mixtures of rough cut cabbage and carrot. It lacked the taste of a coleslaw. The service was also super slow.
Chicken was cold. When I rang and told them, they said to put it in the microwave. That’s not how it works.
With the utter devastation felt from another grilled chicken brand closing the majority of its regional locations, a deep abyss of loneliness filled my heart. And my stomach.
Capricho is the red hot shining light that restored my sunshine.
The burgers are amazing, you can taste the peppers in the hot sauce, the chips have the perfect amount of crunch but, most importantly, the peri peri is back!
Delicious waves of chilli heat bathing your taste buds will cure the most desperate of times and hangovers.
Need one in Bendigo.
Never coming back.
Was pretty disappointed when this place changed from Nandos which was better in my opinion.
However we've still grabbed chips and chicken from here time to time. Chips have always been great, did get a cold burger a while ago but today really ticked me off.
I ordered a meal and an additional XL chips. We had just gotten an XL chips from this store within the last 2 weeks only to get home today with what we thought must be an error. After speaking to the staff on the phone, they advised they've changed the portion size due to increased cost. I'd always suggest to increase price as opposed to reducing size but this is insane.
The serving is now less than half of the prior size and is barely larger than the regular. The prior size was enough for 3-4 people and this is like, ok for one. And considering the cost hasn't changed I can't comprehend/justify how they can consider this a reasonable price/serving ratio.
Given the fact it's always dead now when I've come in to pick up our orders I think their days are numbered and when they go out of business it will be totally justified.
Attended restaurant twice recently. They are not using McCain Sure Crisp chips as promised on their menu and product definitely not gluten free. This is also falsely labelled GF on the menu.
Cashier said have changed supplier.
Beware coeliacs and those with anaphylaxis to wheat and gluten.
Not one of the best
But best grilled chicken ever, habanero️
Sauce is so delicious to dip.
Very great ambiance with great service.
Delicious meals, freshly cooked and served. Surpassed an almost identical meal from a Melbournian outer suburban restaurant, which was zero on flavour, not cooked, and quite lengthy being served. We will definitely be returning.
The taste of the food fluctuates, fries are sometimes fresh sometime old and re-fried, chicken is sometimes juicy othertimes really bland and so on and so forth
Staff are friendly
The blandest of food, nothing like the nandos it replaced. The wings I ordered were lightly basted and the sauce on it rubbed of right away while eating making it messy - and could be said as warm. The chips were lukewarm at best, definitely not fresh, likely a few days old.
The kids drink options are grown up sized soft drinks or a 600ml orange juice, so they were on a sugar rush.
The wings I had, I needed to struggle to finish them.
The place was empty, except for one person coming in as we left.
Terrible experience today. Would not recommend these guys anymore although their food usually is nice.
Ordered 1 Hot Chicken (for my self)
Ordered 1 BBQ Chicken (for my kids)
Drove from home back to the store because our order had been incorrectly fulfilled. Went inside the store just to have staff with ego without apologising & acknowledging their mistake. Although thank you for the correct replacement we had received that we had to drive back for.
Furthermore by the time we got back home from store our initial food was already cold because they couldn’t offer delivery caused by their mistake of incorrectly fulfilling the order.
However thanks to the Asian lady who showed somewhat of a remorse & apologised.
In addition to all of this we also had multiple previous mistakes in our previous orders such as ordering regular chips & spicy chips just to come back home to open both spicy chips.
I would recommend basic reading training to the management for staff members who fulfil orders.
Great grilled chicken, when it is available. Cannot believe they run a grilled chicken outlet and run out of chicken, and second time in a couple of months (I order perhaps once or twice a month).
Also, fix your mobile App when there is no chicken available. On two occasions I ordered to collect (via the App), only to be told there no chicken available once I arrive at the outlet. The mobile App should be able to tell me that before I waste my time driving there. Not impressed at all; but then again, the chicken and flavours are good, when available.
The customer service was excellent, and the food was pretty good as well. However, they charge you $1.50 for the smallest size of dips serving I have ever seen in my life!
Chicken was pretty good, even though expensive. Dinner for 1 adult and 2 kids cost me over $60! Plus delivery another $10. Tiniest portion of wings, burrito wrap was $17! Pita bread dip was straight mayo.didn't go together. To think that this replaced Nandos!
First time having Capricho and it had been a few years since I've stopped in Ballarat. Quiet Sunday afternoon, bright clean restaurant, great menu, lovely staff with a welcoming smile and delicious food. Will stop in again thats for sure.
Love their food etc, but please do something about your heating in winter. It’s freezing inside if you want to eat in over the winter period! Literally was breathing out cold mist air as if I was out in the snow!
Just… ehh. Bring back Nandos. They got things right at least.
With the non-existent food traffic, you’ll be out soon enough.
Expensive long wait and rude manager, food was just warm. Give it a miss plenty of other options.
Had a Capricho Superbowl, it was amazing worth to try again, super nice people! Very clean! Definitely coming back again!
Inconsistent, Mostly Fantastic, the sauce on the chicken is so delicious so much better than that similar chain. Staff are lovely too. But sometimes the amount of chicken is very small (neck doesn’t count as a piece) and it could be cooked crispier.
