Cape Tavern reviews
36 My family and I were in Cape Patterson for a long weekend away, staying just around the corner from the Cape Tavern. We stopped in a handful of times throughout the weekend for drinks and a feed, and loved the place. Staff were super friendly and incredibly welcoming, making extra efforts to make sure our 2yo daughter was comfortable.
Food was standard pub grub, done extremely well. Exactly what you want at a place like this!
Huge marks for having Sailors Grave beer on tap - was such a nice surprise not being confronted with stock standard CUB offerings.
Thanks for having us!
The heart and hub of Cape Paterson. Michael is the perfect host and, with his family, has created a very special place. Food is always great and the service is amazing. Thank you Michael and family and staff.
Good food, and some nice beers on tap. There were a couple (beers) I hadn't had before, and when I asked for a recommendation the bartender simply offered for me to sample - a great indicator of a good pub.
A real gem. We went for lunch. Choice of inside but chose an outdoor table. Great table service for drinks and ordering. Excellent meals. Very reasonable prices. Terrific staff. Wonderful experience. Will go again.
Our "local". Consistently good food, friendly host, the best in Wonthaggi/Inverloch/Cape!
One of the best local food outlets in Bass Coast. Great atmosphere & staff but book so you don't miss out!
Visited the Cape Tavern recently, with our visitors + thoroughly enjoyed all four meals. Unfortunately didn't take photo of meals, but we enjoyed them. Curry dish, Delectable home made gnocchi + slow cooked beef in tomato sauce, Home made Pie of the day with chips +Salad. Pleasant, Excellent service Thank you Michael and Sue
Wonderful atmosphere, service and food. Friendly staff. Would recommend the Cape Tavern for your dining pleasure.
Friendly staff. Enjoyed the live music. We booked early to ensure we got a table for our large group. Mains were average size and expensive but tasty. Our table ordered the seafood linguine, which had a nice variety of seafood; barramundi and steak. Desserts were generous in size and all came with ice cream and cream, we had the pavlova with berries, vanilla panna cotta, sticky date pudding and chocolate pudding.
Had lunch there and wow what an amazing venue. The food was perfect and the staff were amazing. Highly recommend as we will definitely be coming back regularly.
First time at the Tavern and won't be the last. Food was magnificent. I had the Tasmanian salmon, cooked to perfection. Also had the chocolate pudding for dessert - to die for!
The best duck rolls with Thai dipping sauce, garlic and herb prawns perfect with a salad vinaigrette that was unbelievable,
Lovely little taverna with great beer on tap and Dirty Tree wine by the bottle.
The Surf & Turf was delicious and the gnocchi was tasty and homemade.
Food was amazing, we share a bbq parma and chicken salad, staff were polite and helpful. Great Location
It's always a buzz with friends and the staff, whether it's drinks or a meal. Happy times to all.

This Restaurant has 3 doors but one is close, second is exit it means you can't enter and the last one is enter but you have to wait to be sited.
Their food quality is very good for rural area but the positive point is their beer.
Their beer is too fresh.
