Thankyou for the best meals we have had in along time. Service awesome thankyou to the lovely lady who arranged for us to take our Pavlova as take away. If you are staying at Cape Patterson the Cape Tavern is a must visit place. Thankyou will differently be back.

Oh my! We have eaten here quite a few times as we settle into living here and we are so lucky to swap out some seriously great food in the city (of Melbourne) for even better food here! We have had tonight the homemade gnocchi (my husband) and the pork cutlet with blue cheese and chilli jam - both specials - and the lovely wait person needed to wrestle the pork cutlet plate from me as I chomped through the porcelain having licked the plate!

We had two lovely glasses of heathcote cab sauv and now my husband refuses to go without the home made meringue! Lucky cape dwellers indeed! Thank you CT staff and chefs:)

Absolutely delicious Great staff, food and atmosphere. We had quite a large group for lunch, about 35 on us. The organisation of taking our orders and the short time it took to get it out to us was brilliant. All meals were hot, delicious, no meals were wrong, and served with a smile. Do yourself a favour, go there and enjoy yourselves. Plenty of parking available.

The staff were amazing, friendly and accommodating especially knowing that we had four children ranging from ages 6months to 7yrs.

We ate chicken parma, kids chicken nuggets, fish & chips, salt & pepper calamari, oysters kilpatrick, chicken scallopini, sticky date, & vanilla panna cotta. There is only one word needed to describe the food "Wow"

You know this place is phenomenal when your three young children eat their food without complaint, you eat dinner at the same place three out of eight nights and your 7 yr old can't wait to come back on holiday just so we can come back for dinner.

My only complaint is this place is a little too far from home for us otherwise it would be our go to place for dinner every week.

Oysters kilpatrick, amazing! Fried flat head and chips, amazing! Home made lasagne, amazing! Chicken parma, amazing! Gravy on the side, amazing! Kids meals, amazing! Sticky date pudding, amazing! Atmosphere, amazing! Service, amazing! We'll be talking about the food here for a very long time. Literally worth driving here from Melbourne just for a day trip to eat at this place! I could not recommend this place high enough!

Delicious food. Good service. Bit noisy due to big gathering, don't that would always be the case. Loved it, will definitely come back

Food was good and the kitchen made something especially for my mum who is dairy free. We were very appreciative. Staff were attentive and the wine list was good with quite a few local wineries and breweries represented.

Really nice food selection with yummy meals, good options for beer & wines. Polite staff. You need to book at busy times. I'm glad this is our local pub.

Very friendly staff and absolutely delicious food. I had the lamb shank with veggies. Shank was falling apart and very tasty.

Hard to get a booking, a great community pub, had a raffle going, many many choices, sitting outside was great, the boss wheeled the heater closer for us. Not to noisy so was easy to talk. Food was great, I ordered the Salmon but the Iamb shank was Flintstones size. Tip: Look at your table number, Order up the front and order your drinks at bar, was easy though. I will be back, but I want to win a raffle prize please

Good food and service at a reasonable price. The salmon and pork chop with chili sauce and blue cheese can be recommended.

Always an excellent meal and good service. Great ambience: not too many people; excellent indoor and outdoor choices; friendly natives.

This is one of those places you just go into and you feel welcome. The service was excellent and despite being a busy, sunny, summer Sunday afternoon we got our meals in a fairly short amount of time and the chicken was cooked perfectly. Can't ask much more from a place than that.

Lovely food and drinks. We especially liked the prawn spring rolls, fish and chips, pot pie and the prawn linguine.
We were disappointed that we were not advised of the kitchen closing and were unable to order dessert. Especially as we were seated about 10mins after arriving for our reserved time, and no menus provided until 15mins after arriving.

Best pub food in years. I had a veggie gnocchi. Sooooo much flavour, great texture of al dente veggies, hint of chilli, what a winner. I'm not a vegetarian now, but for almost 30 years struggled to find anywhere who could make flavoursome food. This was such a treat. My dining companions enjoyed generous serves of fish and fries and tender scrumptious lamb backstrap. The vibe was buzzing, with loads of friendly locals, families and tourists enjoying the excellent hospitality, service and food. Highly recommend

The Cape Tavern exceeds expectations with attentive customer service and quality food and drink. The chicken parmas were fantastic and reasonably priced. The curly wedges on the side were a standout! Great atmosphere and the place was bustling with people. Keep up the good work

Got to place around 1.30. Had booked but due to other customers had to wait 10mins or so to get our table due to being small pub. Overal great food, great service and good atmosphere. Highly recommend.

We had the most delicious lunch today. Lamb back straps and Greek salad. So amazing. And the chocolate pudding and Christmas pudding for dessert- YUM! Thank you Michael and his fabulous staff at The Tavern for another fabulous lunch experience. ️

This was the perfect place to go with our kids. Great, generous plates of food at reasonable prices. Service was great too.
Definitely worth visiting this place when you’re in the area

Delicious food, friendly staff. I had the homemade linguini with seafood and a Napoli sauce, amazing. They are able to assist with dietary needs. My friend had the vegetarian lasagne and also loved it. Bookings advised to avoid disappointment.
