Canterbury Girls Secondary College

As a CGSC parent I will say my daughter likes school and she learns something new every day. The principal and teachers seem to be supporting the students well, even and especially through lockdown.

Edit to say: when school returned after lockdown there was constant demands on kids to wear masks, even while already social distancing with precautions.surely the kids don't need masks at ALL times in classroom.how is it affecting young people's development. Hoping for a better 2021 for all staff and students.

I went to this school in year seven and it was easily the worst year of my life.i was bullied to the point of purposefully avoiding school because of how much i hated it.we went to the school and they did nothing except make me meet with the year level coordinator regularly for counselling sessions.the girls where never punished or even spoken to about their actions.i moved schools and ive been much happier since.

Is a good school in some ways but after a while it has been hard to trust teachers there as it feels like a lot of them talk down to u and haven’t been particularly helpful in hard times, some of the teachers there are really nice and so is the vice principal but as for others they don’t make you feel very welcome and it is made to feel Ike they constantly pick on you, they feel very negative and don’t have your best interests at heart

I’ve never gone to the school, but I heard that one girl named Emma Carter went there and is actually now a murderer and was top dog in women’s prison. Not sure what the school is like but if they influenced a murderer I wouldn’t be to keen to go here.

Great school. The girls are nice and welcoming. Majority of the teachers are amazing and try their hardest to help you. However, there are a few dodgy teachers. The facilities are alright but they could be better. The school grounds are very small leaving little space to play sport. The winter uniform is not the best but the summer uniform is beautiful. The school isn't that strict with their uniform. They NEED to put air conditioning in A block because in summer it is horrible. The bus system also needs some work. The assistant principle isn't the nicest or welcoming person to new students and parents and the office ladies can sometimes be rude.

If you do NOT i repeat do NOT want your daughter to be able to express themself and be able to enjoy their learning without being harassed by multiple teachers and even called disgusting by the assistant principal i suggest you send your daughter to another school, canterbury girls is N O T a private school but they sure do act like one x camberwell high might be a great alternative or literally anywhere else i really hope for other students and i that this school improves greatly.
