Calder Park Thunderdome reviews
40Wish it was brought back to what it used to be, love this place and hope it's always available for public use!
Would be nice if someone fixed this place up, imagine having a world class motorsports venue in Victoria again?
Or are we still just letting Dan Andrews play personal army with vicpol and our tax dollars?
They don't want car enthusiasts to have a place to go, cos then the money dries up.
10/5! Jason from Keep It Reet has an awesome set up! Well run, non-stop action, friendly staff and amazing competitions, prizes and entertainment! Great food choices and clean facilities! Prices are excellent and a wonderful night out for families and friends! Terrific effort by the whole team! Thank you so much, we'll be visiting again soon!
The Riderbros riding school was the best thing that happened to me! Excellent Trainers and amazing track!
This is Northbound BP service centre, most people don't know their direction haha. Great stop to freshen up, have a toilet break and get something to eat before my usual drive out of Melbourne to home in North Vic. Plenty of parking for trucks and passenger vehicles. They have Subway, McDonald's, KFC, a brewed coffee place I can't think of their name now haha as well as the BP section which stocks almost anything you'd need for your journey. All in all most truck drivers i know all make a pitstop here on their way out of Melbourne.
I can not believe such an iconic motorsport complex like this, so run down. Looks terrible. Such a waste.
Thanks again Rider Bros for being one of the best (if not the best) motorcycle instruction businesses around. Hands down your methods and tuition are relaxed, but highly informative. You keep it easy going, no stress. Your the best, keep it up
Quite sad to see the state of the place but makes for some amazing images. (Images not taken by me)
What was once a fun fuelled place, now neglected and abandoned, which is a shame considering it’s rich history. However, it is quite satisfying being able to see nature take its course and overtake majority of the grandstand.
This place brings back fond memories.although I haven't been there in a while, I can still hear the sounds of those engine's roar from my place as I only live a couple of minutes away, great place for rev heads
I remember my dad taking me to the Thunderdome must have been around the late 80s or early 90s.when I got out of our car in the carpark the sound of a screaming V8 was all it took for uncontrollable excitement.i wish they would rebuild this place to new.it currently is in a sad state and it's just a waste.
Great place staff need bit more training and knowledge of how to register to race but the track and fun 5 stars
Y SELL CALDER PARK WHEN IT CAN BE REVIVED INTO A NEW MONEY MAKEING COMPLEX. THEN POLICE COUNCIL AND CALDER PARK DRAGWAY WONDER Y THE ROAD TOLL IS WHAT IT IS BECAUSE YOUNG KIDS HAVE NO WERE 2 TAKE THERE CARS AND DO THINGS LEGAL Y MMMMMMM
If you love cars and Drag racing you should give it a go. You'll enjoy it but get some ear plugs.
I've only driven past here and more recently via the train. And may have been the inspiration for that Mad Max film. I was once able to hear Gun's and Rose's play there from a nearby suburb. Car races no longer occur there, or anything resembling fun.
Love the place for the drags but the food
For the price you pay for entry you would expect a bit better food court and decent food. Allow some food trucks in or something please its very disappointing.
Great day well organized and run. Probably a few too many cars there to be honest but if you stuck it out the whole day got a few runs in.
Wicked place, could use more signage for where to go but apart from that had a great time running the quarter.
What to expect when you go to a Calder Park street meet. 1 hour long plus waits between runs, a line that goes well beyond the gates and $100 entry fee for 2-3 runs if you're lucky. Great day or night out paying to push your car.
