Cafe La Hoot reviews
63The place to go for quality coffee in Winchelsea. Seating out the back on a nice day is also great!
Great lentil burger, delicious vanilla & honey chai latte, and solid iced latte - definitely worth a visit
This is a great little "hidden wonder". Always stop for a coffee and treat. Great in all aspects.
Pleasurable stopover in Winchelsea enroute Deans Marsh / Lorne. Very nice coffee, delectable pastries, comfy outdoor seating and lovely staff!
Good coffee and parking ok.
Staff friendly and helpful.
Shop needs to be bigger and more covered area for customers, have to stand out in the wind and rain to wait for your order.
Great spot for a coffee and a cake and more. We weren’t expecting to see a cafe here! A very pleasant surprise and a lovely dog friendly experience.
Always a great coffee. I rarely go past without stopping on my way out/from Western Vic. Cam also highly recommend the florentines.
Great coffee and friendly service, dining area was a bit loud for a quiet cuppa. But location was great
Highly recommend La Hoot cafe. We were passing Winchelsea on our way from Melbourne to Warrnambool and decided to have a coffee break at this place - the coffee was very good and the cakes we tried were quite healthy and delicious; the chicken panini was also great. Well done La Hoot!
Just YUM!
Sublime, crispy, fresh toasties. The seed bread on the chicken panini was so good. The breakie toastie with bacon egg lettuce tomato avocado and red onion is an instant family institution. We'll be stopping here every time on our way to the beach coast.
Coffee: Excellent.
Great stop off the Hwy.delicious toasties and a playground for the kids. Public toilets close by too. Perfect
All the employees are absolutely wonderful, fantastic service and food! Coffee was perfect temperature, food was full of flavour and good value!
Will definitely be back again, shout out to Clare she was so welcoming to me and my family!
Breakfast burrito was amazing. Great friendly efficient service. My family from Adelaide and Warrnambool always stop in on our way through! Highly recommend.
A must do stop should you be travelling through, amazing staff, authentic unicorn milk for kids, and a true iced coffee experience that shows impeccable talent for the draw down over beans, food absolutely exceptional really shows talent and complete understanding of flavours that sing together.
Thank you La Hoot for your hospitality and perfect service in everyway.
I’ve been here twice and the coffee is wonderful. I always ask for extra hot and that’s exactly how they do it. It is a small, unique cafe but well worth stopping by and you can visit the public toilets at the same time. Tables are only outside under umbrellas giving a comfortable, friendly atmosphere.
Best stop for coffee and sandwich. The hoots breakfast toastie is the best I had in years. Dog friendly too.
If your in Winchelsea make sure you call into this Great little cafe next to playground and the Barwon River
Such a wonderfull owner and friendly Staff

Easy to park and consistently good coffee. Great break on a trip to Melbourne. Scarlette loves a break as well and with Vegan (& gluten free) options even better. Updated 2021 July.more options of the vegan and GF options. Happy days
This afternoon on my way home I dropped in for a Chai Latte to which I am very fussy about. I like my chai brewed strong on almond milk and it was 100% perfect for me. All the food looks delicious but I settled on a snack of an apricot and cashew ball and passionfruit and lemon square also 100% delicious. The ladies serving and making the chai were lovely, I met the owner when I went for squiz inside the house where there is a super cosy dining room for guests to enjoy. I loved the charm of the house and the original doors and windows sills from the 40's. All the food is made on site. Loved it and next time I will make room breakfast or lunch instead of snack and enjoy my surrounds. Well done to the owner and staff. By the way my employment is in hospitality so I know how hard it can be and sometimes thankless. Keep doing what you are doing. Warm regards, Gabrielle
