Ca De Vin reviews
66Inconsiderate staff who did not accommodate for a simple dietary requirement. Forced to pay for food that I did not eat. Extremely dissatisfied with the service. Would not recommend this place.
Most disappointing - a lot of pasta and not much else other than tomato. Even the Parmesan is average / super market quality They charge high prices $ 32 plus and their offering is clearly not worth even half the price paid. I returned my dish and had to eat plain focaccia instead with salad. Waste of money.
Much better options are there in the city.
We had a lovely Italian meal here on our visit to Melbourne. There were good food and drink choices, good atmosphere and generous portions. The calamari starter was excellent, my barramundi was awesome as was my husbands lamb skewers, nice and pink in the middle.
. Lovely meal celebrating our anniversary. Quality food and service was great and real without being too stuffy
I've visited Ca De Vin 3 times now with colleagues and with my partner. Every time the food has been delicious. Particularly love the Linguine Cartoccio. Its reasonably priced and the food arrives quickly. Will visit many more times.
Very. Disappointing - gorgeous spot, food looked and smelt amazing for the people who had some. After a 20 min wait at our table In the half filled restaurant on a Thursday night we left. The waiter appeared more interested in chatting to passers by than with taking a drink or food order from the patrons who kept trying to get his attention.
We were staying inner city and my husband wanted Italian. This didn't come up in the top rated restaurants but it was exactly what we were looking for. Delicious rustic Italian food set in a gorgeous little alleyway.
The pizza was terrible. It’s not worth 25 dollars actually. The pizza dough is crispy.that’s it. No flavour, no seasonings at all. Toppings are not enough for eating a pizza.
Pasta and other foods are also not worth 20-50 dollars indeed. Some of staffs are nice but some of them are not smiling at all. Wouldn’t come again
Food is good. Service has that $10ph backpacker feel and is slow (which is fair for the staff to guest ratio). Interesting location with plenty of atmosphere. Ok wine by the glass list. Good specials board, ocassionaly updated.
It's a good example of Melbourne's laneway culture. Cosy and warm even in Winter. It has a decent menu and wine list. Although a little bit pricey for what is essentially a casual dining location.
5 stars in every category, polite attentive wait staff, fast service, great quality food and extremely well priced, loved the ambience. All round fantastic experience
First visit to Ca De Vin.the atmosphere and location were amazing. Food was exceptional. The pizza was one of the best we have ordered in quite some time. The food also came in out in a very timely manner, even with a full house. Very impressed, will absolutely be back.
Great atmosphere and location unfortunately food is well below average.
In a cool Melbourne laneway, that's covered and has outdoor heaters. We have eaten a few times, staff are great. Sadly the food does not deliver. Couple of examples, had pizza on more than one occasion and expected quality Italian wood fired pizza with real mozzarella. Base tasted like cardboard, there definitely wasn't real mozzarella cheese on the pizza. Bruschetta, was definitely well below average as well. I received a small cob of bread, that has been sliced and baked and then sprinkled with some chopped tomatoes on top. The two stars are for location, atmosphere and the staff.
Great food, good service and reasonable prices, we had the dips, garlic bread and a pizza more than enough food for 2people recommend for an out of the way, quiet place for dinner.
Food was nice and came quickly. A bit pricey for what it was though. The guy that served us was really good but one of the ladies had a bit of an attitude. Also the card surcharge was a bit unnecessary. I don’t usually Cary $100+ cash in my wallet and wouldn’t expect to pay a card surcharge at a restaurant.
Awesome food and great customer service, the owner personally served us and was super nice and friendly. Give them a try and and you won't be disappointed.
I made a reservation because we were 5 people plus two one year olds in prams. The staff couldn't have been more helpful, everyone enjoyed the delicious food, including our two one year olds
Amazing pizza and interesting cocktails in a very cool location. Overseas friends loved the atmosphere. Don't be scared of coming here in cold Melbourne weather, the heater and beautiful fresh pizza will keep you warm.
We only stopped for coffee and a light snack but the chicken skewers and calamari share plates were certainly worth eating. Oh and the coffee is AMAZING!
Shocked that the margarita and napoli pizzas were so disappointing. Bread very thin, Napoli incredibly salty, both tasteless, margarita came out with cold tomato paste. I would choose fast food pizza takeaway any day over this. Very pricey for what it is.
