Butchers Diner reviews
32 Solid cheeseburger, great house bacon
^think it's dry aged beef patty with a good bite to it
popular lunch joint
standard CBD price point although, my fellow companion suggested "value wise, a whopper might be better"
It's a simple late night burger joint. The food was not bad but could've been better. We ordered the pastrami, couple of burgers, chicharon, and Poutine. The burgers were good, I personally liked the burgers over the pastrami. Poutine was good. Chicharon was a bit dissapointing as it was very thin. It almost tasted and felt like a deep fried rice paper.
It was ok overall, nothing special.
Great place for good burgers and chips. The blood sausage devilled egg burger was different and delicious.
Went twice a week last week before the lockdown, and great meals, grabbed chicken and bacon on two different occasions
Their Thursday Reuben special is a must-have - our team at the Metro Melbourne Tunnel project loved it
Great little spot in the city for a late night meal. Highly recommend trying out their cheeseburger, it totally melts in your mouth!
I had such high hopes for this place. Got a cheeseburger, the patty tasted like commercial parties you get from Coles (and not the good ones), a chilli dog practically tasteless, fried chicken which was not fresh at all and possibly reheated.
Fries with no seasoning, fried pickles with the worst batter I have seen in my life.
Wish it was better but it was not. Hopefully they change things in future and head for being better.
Sadly, the new workers have tarnished this establishment. Can't cook a steak to save their lives. Didn't want to cook steamed greens but backflipped when challenged.
Delicious! It was late and we were hungry, it's hard to find a spot after 8 mid week in Melbourne but this was perfect. Server was very helpful and food was really tasty, perhaps a little over salted on the chips but so good! 100 worth it.
Food tastes good but prices are excessive! 9 bucks for 2 skewers consisting of 8 pieces of meat; $1 per slice of fried pickle and 2 stalks of broccoli in the charred broccoli dish for 10 bucks
Hidden gem! Tucked away near corner of Bourke and Spring st, this is a fantastic spot. Great food (along with some delicious daily specials) paired with a good range of beverages. Dont be put off by its small size, this is a great place that fails to serve up a bad meal! Strong recommend to all.
This restaurant has the best vibe, especially late at night when you're looking for a great feed. Meat was amazing and everything was so fresh. Definitely coming back!
It is ok and not bad. I expected more with the reviews I've been through for this pace. I don't hate it. The food was good and the beef skewers were great. I couldn't really enjoy my organic chicken wrap though. It's good for a quick grab. Ya on a overall scale.it was good. The service was also good and the serving pace was also not bad. Thank you for the service guys.
Delicious. Did not disappoint.
Lightly toasted burger buns and thick and juicy patty. Hits the spot when U want a great burger.
Snack pack was also amazingly good!
Nice crispy chips with a good amount of sauce!
Really nice little place. I discovered it by accident andi will definitely be coming back. I got the Creole Salmon and it was delicious.
Have to give this place full five stars. My wife and I had heard about this diner and decided to stop in during a weekday whilst out in the CBD. We ordered the Ruben sandwich with fries. We sat inside and enjoyed the no frills atmosphere and hanging meat suspended into the walls giving way to the open kitchen behind them. The Rubens were delicious and the meat was juicy and tender. The pickled cabbage and mustard spread was in perfect proportions, I’m salivating thinking back on it! It’s a treat no doubt, one can’t eat like this everyday. I noticed most people there were opting for the burger and fries that too looked impressive, I’m sure that one day I’ll try out the other food there too.if you’re after an awesome Ruben without the stingy two slice meat for $25 options you my be used to here in Melbourne, go to Butchers Diner and spend half that and get twice the food that tastes amazing!
Butcher’s Diner is a hidden gem in the CBD. The food here is always spot on and the daily specials never fail to satisfy my appetite. I find myself coming back here week after week. They’re open late which is a great bonus. I highly recommend any of their daily butchers cut which varies from day to day, as well as the Japanese fried chicken. You will not be disappointed.
Hidden gem for 24/7 eating. Amazing to see them back after the lockdowns. Always a great place of you are the parliament end of the CBD and with a routing menu, you can always come back and find something new to sink your teeth into
Very nice, the burger I had was very juicy. Would come again to eat the other quality items on the menu.
I love it so much this cheeseburger just sent me to heaven while drunk but I swear it tastes.like the finest dining on earth.deliciouso
You can smell this place before you see it. A lovely intimate diner with inside and outside seating. We had the smoked rump 150 day grain finished MB2+ with hand cut chips and the cheeseburger. Both were really delicious and high quality beef. The hand cut chips were really nice and loved the honey mustard with horse radish.
