Course advisers don't respond to emails and instead of taking time to teach or explain like they are paid to do, they just read off a power point each class and show students where to find the answers to exams. Im 7 months in I still haven't received my project port folio despite several follow ups.
Supervisor tells me we will talk about it in the class, only for him to ignore my messages and proceed the normal waffle of nonsense. This is not what I paid for.
Obviously Simmonds are only doing this for the tax benefits. Many people logged in that don't contribute or disappear after a few lessons. I have no doubt that if this 'company' was audited by the Govt they would find nothing but false student applications, unqualified 'educators' and dead end email addresses. Ill be seeking a full refund.

The Diploma was very comprehensive. Our trainer was very supportive and went through the building process in great detail. The Diploma in Building and Construction also gave me an articulation pathway to the Bachelor in Construction Management. I really enjoyed the Builder Registration Mentoring Program that was included within the course.
This was a great start to my building and construction career!

As an architect student, I found the Certificate IV in Building and Construction invaluable.
It provided me with the knowledge of managing a domestic building project with key insights into Australian building codes and standards that wasn’t covered in my university degree.
A great organisation with dedicated trainers that are builders themselves.
I was eligible for government subsidised training which made the course very accessible.
I would highly recommend Builders Academy to anyone wanting building and construction training!

Accessible training in the construction industry, A positive organisation that is centred around student outcomes. Small training provider in construction in Melbourne, also offer virtual classroom training nationally and connected to a building company, a stand out place to launch your career and future.

If you are old & low income & non-Caucasian student, don’t go there. BAA is extremely rude and racist. Especially the trainer Graham Howes, who’s is ex-supermarket manager and doesn’t have much building knowledge or experience to teach anybody. All he does in class is letting students read the learning materials and teasing on students who’s aged or come from a different background. The BAA manager will never take any complain from students and all they care is just money.
The only tip to make the course easier and treated fairly is buying the trainer a gift (better worth over $500) that’s what exactly happened in box hill class last year. Dirty greedy company, worse than a drug dealer.

Bunch of cowboys how simmonds they run these courses. I started cert 4 building & construction with them, course was in a pub with no wifi when all had to be done thru internet. Then transferred online & the construction plans no one had access to on file, yet we had to highlight things on file & email back. Was told to take photos on my phone print it, draw on it & take photo & email back. Left it after 2 weeks like most people. For $9500 what a scam, they are the worst. No wonder they advertise it lots. Went to a trade tafe college. 10000 times better.

Hi all, I started online building diploma from this academy & find out it is just waste of time & money. They are running free to get money from government. Teacher just read the slides on screen nothing else. Completely making fun of education system.that's why students left the course. Government should stop funding to these education facilities. They are just taking the tax payer money for nothing.
