Buffalo Boy reviews
45Probably my favourite restaurant in or around Melbourne. I've been coming here for like 4 years and the satay skewers and five spice pork belly are still so damn good.
Lovely flavours but smallish serves and a little pricey for what you get and the service is ridiculously rush. 5 minutes after ordering our entrees arrive, 10 minutes later out mains. Felt like we were pushed out the door in 40 minutes.
Food tastes ok and friendly service, but serving size is very underwhelming. Not even a whole fish fillet for a main. Someone replaced the buffalo with a hamster.
A friend and I dropped in to Buffalo Boy at 8.45 pm looking for a quick dinner after a movie. This place was perfect - speedy, attentive service, and delicious food at a reasonable price. We shared the pork belly dish (so good!), an incredible pumpkin and tofu curry, and a bowl of rice. Generous serving size meant that we couldn’t quite finish, but next time we’ll take another friend to help!
Horrible and rude. Ordered from this restaurant tonight via UberEats for the first time. Ordered at 8pm saying 45 minute delivery time. Got a rude call from restaurant at 10pm saying they gave the order to the wrong delivery driver and therefore no food will be delivered. We waited two hours and no food at 10pm. No apology from the restaurant. The guy on phone was rude saying to contact Uber about a refund. They checked with manager and he also didn’t offer any sort of apology or kind good will gesture to make us feel better about the situation. Sitting here starving and upset. Take your money elsewhere.
The best Vietnamese food we have had in ages! Loved the pork belly and Pad Thai and this only complimented the friendly and relaxed atmosphere.
Hidden around the corner off Bay St, was a good suggestion. They took a relatively late booking, meals were quick and delicious.
We had a delicious Vietnamese dinner last night at Buffalo Boy. The menu is small but covers a lot of ground. It has rice paper rolls, spring rolls, satay chicken, pho plus a few other smaller dishes and masaman curry lamb, steamed barramundi and alike for mains. The standout dishes for me were the calamari (the sauce was dripping with umami) and the lamb curry paired with 333 beer. I only knocked a tiny bit off the score because most things had sugar added and tasted too sweet for me but that’s a very personal taste. Definitely a great night worth repeating.
Good but expensive. We have been twice, twice problems with our order. They fixed it but it took time. They need more staff. We will try one more time.
Best Vietnamese in the area and one of my favourite restaurants. Every single thing on the menu here is amazing in taste and not too heavy in your stomach afterwards. BB is nice to visit and sit in for dinner or lunch, providing an upscale-ish but ever-relaxed vibe, but also nice to order home and chow in front of the TV. Love Buffalo Boy.
Tried Buffalo Boy for the first time last night as we were craving Vietnamese for dinner. And this definitely didn't disappoint!
The vermicelli was perfect. It was authentic, fresh, the chicken not too fatty, and it was a good portion size. I'd definitely order this again.
My partner ordered the curry which was very flavourful and he really enjoyed.
Highly recommend!
We loved our visit there. The staff were lovely and managed the situation with the covid restrictions very well. Inspite of the 90 minute sitting, we did not feel rushed at all.
The food was beautiful - esp the spring rolls, never had any before that were so crispy and flavoursome. The Pho Soup, skewered Prawns, crispy chicken wingettes and coconut dessert were all beautifully presented and full of flavour. Definitely recommended
$18 for pho off uber eats. Stock was OK, heavy on the star anise. Even accounting for Brighton, its a small serve for this price. Pho traditionally comes with beef, i dont understand the extra charge.
The colour on the crispy net spring rolls a little inconsistent. Should all come out the same colour after deep frying it.
Great tasting pho, the soup is superb and the price is very reasonable. At times can be very crowded so booking for large party is recommended.
Well, this place is pretty amazing, the food the staff the wine. I suppose one of the best Vietnamese Restaurants you could hope for. The fish was perfectly cooked. It’s surprisingly well priced for the quality of food. It’s surely recommended.
Great food although a bit pricey and parking was difficult. Nice atmosphere. Not many vegetarian options but what they had was great quality. Will go back again.
A go-to favourite of mine for years! Delicious, good value food (and drink - the cocktails are great!). I find this restaurant has a nice setup and ambience to both enjoy a quick bite or a longer meal to catch up with family or friends.
OMG! Those chicken winglets are amazing. And the lamb shank curry is off the hook. I'm coming back soon for more
Delicious food. Quick service. Small but funky set up. Bit pricey but worth it. Best pho in Brighton atm
Great food and service at reasonable prices. Amazing atmosphere. I highly recommend trying out Buffalo Boy
