Absolutely disgraceful! The government should be governing this place. Do not leave your loved one here! Look at all reviews and be warned!

People pay good money to have Gold Health cover, and a major part of your rehabilitation after surgery is the food. From day one I either got served foods i didn't select or no main meal at all! What hospital dosnt offer toast for breakfast? The poached eggs i ordered was one hard boiled egg on a plate! Watery main meals and after giving up and just ordering assorted Sandwiches for lunch and dinner the last 2 days, got one stale Sandwich cut in half! Absolutely inexcusable.its a shame because the Nursing staff and Pysiotherapy staff were very good.

RUDE staff who take pleasure in talking down to others. Rude receptionist talking down visitors. No care for patients. Only interested in the $$$$. Very Dirty rooms.

My Mum had her rehab here after surgery. Reading the reviews I was apprehensive about her admission. Our 3 week experience with the hospital has been great! The doctors, nurses, therapists all treated mum with genuine care and nurture. I felt comfortable leaving her there each night, knowing she was well looked after. Her room was always clean, sheets changed daily, food was of high standard, facilities were clean and the sessions were consistent and specific to her needs. Thank you to all the medical staff at BPH for your professional and caring support of my Mum.

I strongly advise you to please think twice before admitting your elderly loved ones into this hospital. My (late) mother's hospital admission last year resulted in a MET call only 3 days post admission due to the drugs that she was prescribed whilst under the 'care' of a Geriatrician (Dr Anne Marie Cassano), despite my concerns. I don't normally write negative reviews, but I felt compelled to write this one because I don't want anyone else's loved ones, especially the elderly, to enter a 'Rehabilitation Hospital' only to be prescribed strong pain medication that reduces them to such a state where they are left incoherent, with slurred speech and in a drug induced sleep state to the point where they are unresponsive, resulting in a MET call. The only positive in all this was the nursing staff.

My mother was discharged from this hospital on the 6th July and on the 8th of July I heard on the news they had Covid in the hospital. My mother was NOT contacted by the hospital. I spoke to the CEO of the hospital straight away and was told I had nothing to worry about as trace contacts had been completed. While in the hospital there was no self distancing in group physio sessions patients sat chair to chair with no masks. My mother fell ill on the 12th July and was taken to another hospital and passed away on the 17th. A slow agonising death with no loved ones around her. One phone call from this hospital might have saved life as they would not have had that many discharges on that day. Also getting information out of this hospital about her health was like pulling teeth only after you complain do you get any information and that was still limited. Patients hospital records are kept in a locked white box in the room and whilst my niece was visiting an unmasked person came into the room 5 times within the hour of visiting to check the box. Also charged an extra $100 per day but after my mother passing they offered to refund that money. Keep your elderly well away from this hospital

Was once counselled by Dr. Wijesinghe and overall diagnosed me as having mild depression also advised that I have been resilient enough and responsible enough to deal with it myself. With the right choice of support for me. Which I agreed with him on. Then he completely ran out of any other options or alternatives & turned worse than a stale potato because he was of middle age and of 100 years old of expired medical background knowledge. Then soon enough retired after my last appointment with him over 4+ years ago.

Very good hospital. The staff try their best and are very accomodating with their patients. My father required 24 hour care and the family observed the nurses and doctors and were confident he was in good hands. Thank you to the nurses, Dr's, OT, Physios, discharge planners and all staff at BPH.

Disorganised, dirty and I was totally disgusted with my whole stay there, shower not working, no soap or towels in toilet. Carpet smelt of urine
Nursing staff were wonderful but as far as cleanliness food etc. One star is too high

Despite the attractive surroundings the quality of service was very patchy. The nurses and doctors were excellent but the physio and OT were both poor. After another hospital admission a week after discharge (Influenza B) I discovered I should have been only doing gentle walking for first half of my stay. Instead I was doing both group and individual exercise sessions daily when I desperately needed to sleep after a major back op.

The hospital has poor design components which also breach a patient's entitlement to access their records. Patient records are locked in a box located INSIDE a patient's private room. This means not only lack of access but more importantly - frequent interruptions. When will hospitals understand the importance of sleep in the healing process? (This was a problem in all three hospitals in which I was a patient last year.)

When I was discharged after 3 weeks I could only sit or stand for less than 5 mins. However I discovered that I was ineligible for any government funded home support until I turned 65 because Brunswick is a private hospital.

A special friend managed to be my OT. She purchased a 'grabber' (used daily as I cannot bend), a SMALL stool to sit on (used all over the house in a myriad of ways) and put my shower chair inside my shower.

On discharge, when I asked whether or not I needed to contact Outpatients to organise follow-up I was told they would contact me. After 3 weeks hearing nothing I contacted them. The service I received was all over the place. Initially I was given less than a week's notice for sessions despite needing to find folk who could provide transport. I also had to be there for 90 mins but sometimes this did not include any contact with a physio. I eventually found alternative treatment.

Absolute disgrace of a hospital. Yesterday I suffered a serious anaphylactic attack to peanuts, my friends brought me straight to the hospital as it was around the corner. Whilst I was struggling to breathe and my face was swelling up, the hospital simply told us they had no doctors and made us sit outside whilst we call an ambulance in which that time i could have potentially lost my life.

An absolute disgrace. Could have at least offered some oxygen. The worst is they told us there are no doctors and 10 mins later a doctor walked out.

After a week in public hospital it was a joy to arrive in Brunswick for my rehab. The staff were wonderful, the place was clean and spacious and the facilities were amazing. My mum is in Epworth Brighton Rehab, and after seeing their run down facility and overworked staff (7-1 nurse to patient ratio.much higher than Brunswick), I felt compelled to write up how great Brunswick was in comparison. If you get the choice, go to Brunswick! First class facility
