Brumfield Winery & SLAQ Brewery reviews
39Lovely wines and place for a quiet drink on a summer’s day. Winemakers & Benny the dog eger to share their produce!
Fastastic winery, lovely owners with great products. Had a great day here, would highly recommend!:)
Fantastic family ran winery (there are not that many left these days), we had a great afternoon started with a tasting with the winemaker and then enjoyed a platter in their cosy Cellar Door.
What a find. Excellent beer, jalapeño poppers and rich meat balls. Credit goes to the daughter of the establishment for nailing the attention to craft and care of produce.
Had a great tasting and the best time with the nicest, unpretentious, most authentic husband and wife team that aren't afraid to try things like red bubbles with 100% merlot, chardonney beer and a great cider. Sourdough also something to be remembered that we made as french toast with real flavour the next day.
Lovely wines and food in a relaxing and very laid back atmosphere. A great place for a long lunch nibbling and tasting away. Nothing pretentious here.
I love visiting Brumfield on my days off. Anda’s food are so delicious and David is passionate sharing his knowledge on wines. Both took the time explaining their wine collection and meals. Thank you for having my family:) We can wait to go back again.
Brumfield is such a special little winery and a must visit for people in the Yarra Valley! It is genuinely family owned and operated with David and Anda being the nicest people you will meet. The wine is the star of the show, with superb tastings offered and a great variety including a great sparkling red. There is now beer being brewed which is very well made with hops grown on property. There is a well put together menu for small bites that complement the wine and beer well. These sorts of places are so hard to find so do yourself a favour and get there, we will definitely be back.
Lovely quiet place for a meal and a few drinks on a lazy Sunday. They make their own wine, cider and beer.
Been there a couple of times and can't decide which of the drinks is my favourite.
The owners are terrific hosts and lovely people.
Stopped in on a lovely sunny winter afternoon - enjoyed a pot of pale ale in the sunshine and a chat with the very friendly couple who run the place. Not a large estate, but very charming boutique vineyard. Would definitely stop in again if in the area.
Always a terrific visit at Brumfield. We dropped in for a tasting, and on this occasion, every single wine we tasted was very agreeable. Had to buy three. There’s a pretty garden, and light meals on offer. Oh, and a friendly dog too.
Great small winery, perfect for an intimate group. We enjoyed the al fresco dining with great food and wine, we loved Molly the dog joining us. We had a great time tasting the wines and cider and can't wait to taste the beers in August. Very hospitable and enjoyable way to spend a sunny day.
Winemaker gave us a lovely tasting. Very informative. Small batch winery with amazing flavor. Indoor and outdoor seating. Option for Apple cider and bubbles as well. We got the cheese plate and enjoyed that with their home made sourdough.
Since I can't give 0 stars the 1 star is for the welcoming dog.
Horrible and rude service from the people
Brumfield is a small family run winery tucked away in a quaint old estate in yarra. The wine is incredible. We got a case of the Sangiovese. Even the Rose was really good! Try the cider too! The owners also run bakery and bake their own breads. Try the sourdough (we couldn’t try it but it smelt incredible)
So rude! We arrived as a group of 6 and he turned us away in a very rude fashion despite us being pleasant and friendly. Avoid this place at all costs!
Owners were extremely rude. Had a group of 8 friends and they turned us away purely because there were more than 6 of us. The exterior is extremely dilapidated and run down.
Never come across such disgracefully rude owners! Asked to leave as there were 8 of us who went in for a tasting. Apparently because we were responsible to have a driver, he told us no groups and get out! Absolutely disgusted
Both David and Anda are very friendly and know their stuff! David a great wine maker and Anda a wonderful cook. Together they present a place to go and enjoy a relaxed meal and a glass of excellent wine. Anda prepares all her meals to order -everything is so fresh and tasty. I had the spinach pie with pear and walnut salad - my friends opted for the bangers and mash with roasted vegetables - Anda's cheese platters are to die for! Home made bread, crackers and a great selection of chesses - included on our platter was the Old Telegraph Road goats cheese/chevre - plus Anda's preserved figs - just wonderful. I can seriously recommend this winery to those that enjoy great food, great wine and friendly service. Oh and Brumfield's is DOG FRIENDLY!
