Brenta Meats Suppliers reviews
25Best butcher north of the Yarra. Friendly, helpful staff. Excellent meat and service. Happy customer for over 10 years.
I have honestly never found better, more tender meat anywhere in Aus. Will always remember the huge, melt-in-the-mouth T-Bones!
Great quality meat with really good service. Cesare has been delivering classic butchery to us for over 35 years with great Italian sausage, especially the pork & fennel, as well as cured meats until the new Australian meat standards put a stop to what European butchers and salumi/charcuterie makers have been doing for centuries (and still do in Europe). Son Andrew now provides us with great hanger steak, brisket, beef cheeks, frenched veal shanks, rolled pork and veal roasts, boned and butterflied and marinated lamb legs, aged sirloin, salt bush lamb, and good old fashioned corned beef. If you need something different, just ask Andrew. Greatest butcher north of the Yarra!
Great service, great advice. Came in looking for rib eye which didn't happen to be ready yet. Was recommended porterhouse. Cooked up beautifully. One of the best steaks I've ever had. Thanks guys. Trust your butcher.
Meat is at least equal best to anything I have had in Melbourne - consistently. I've only found one better butcher in Australia so far, and that was not in Melbourne. I only rated quality here as VG because that other butcher proved to me that 'excellent' was a whole level of Nirvana higher than I had thought!
Service from most staff is usually excellent (very friendly and very helpful, but again that other butcher went further than anyone else). Occasionally one of the older guys seems a bit sullen, but he's never been rude. Make an effort to be nice to them and they'll never forget you. The big younger guy (Andy?) recognised me and asked me about something even when I had only been there once in the last year!
I'm sure at least 50% of the older female customers mainly go there for the chivalrous flirting! My wife and friends go there more regularly and they ALWAYS get very friendly service because they are known as regulars, female and/or can speak Italian.
Usually busy, so be prepared to wait around for up to ten minutes - especially on Saturday.
I like old style the tiled decor, and the 'homemade' smallgoods and sausages.
