Amazing food, amazing service. Amazing all round. Great atmosphere, quiet and easy to hear conversation. Perfect for any occasion. Worthy of its hats.

Astonishingly good. Good food was expected but the service was flawless and rooms were way above expectations, the record selection for the turntable was great. Our only minor point of contention was maybe too few Australian wines in the matched set, all good selections but I am sure an extra Aussie or two would fit in.

Dan and the team at Brae have again made our visit exceptional in every way.
The staff were wonderful and met our every request.
Oh the food was so very good and matched wines topped it off.
Our room was quiet and comfortable with lovely views across the paddocks.
The supper delicious supper and breakfast hit the spot.

I visited January 2023. This is one of the most creative, thoughtful and welcoming services I've ever experienced. There's no doubt, you must go.

Good without being great, I could name 5 better restaurants in Melbourne for less cost.

Wine pairings were an extreme let down. Not sure what went so wrong in this department for $200 a person, expected much better from such a respected restaurant.

It would be hard to imagine going to Brae from Melbourne and not staying the night because relaxing in their immaculate cosy rooms afterwards feels like part of the experience. Wonderful food and service in a peaceful and beautifully designed environment. Great work by Six Degrees on the architecture, and beautiful hand made ceramics by Cone 11.

This experience was even better than my previous meal here in 2018. The winelist is shorter but carefully curated. The service was attentive and relaxed and less self-concious and overbearing than before. Overall - faultless.

Brae is the ultimate dining experience. The front of house team are amazing - the attention to detail and genuine service is unrivaled; there is a real care and evident human emotion with everything they are doing. The food is exceptional - it flows nicely and speaks of the local area. Drinks pairing is thoughtful and well articulated.

Exceeded expectations, can’t praise the experience highly enough. The staff’s attention to detail and service was outstanding. Highly recommend having a mid meal walk around the gardens to enjoy everything Brae has to offer.

Thank you again

Underwhelming and severely overpriced.

We wanted to treat ourselves to something special so booked dinner at Brae and a night at the Brae accommodation in November last year.

From start to finish, nothing was amazing, nothing was great, some things were nice, some things were OK, but when you are spending over $1500 on dinner and one night accommodation you expect more than nice and OK.
The meal: Really underwhelming, a couple of nice dishes, but many average ones, including a couple of dishes that we didn't even finish because they just weren't nice to eat (a weird baked beetroot was the standout bad dish that neither my wife nor I ate more than a bite of). The portions were particularly small and we did not feel satisfied by the end of the meal, we were expecting more food to come out before we realised that it was finished!

The wine pairing: this was the worst part of the whole experience, the wine pairing was very expensive $180 per person, which is fine if you have interesting wines which match the cuisine well, and the Brae wine pairing had a couple of nice wines, but again nothing special. The real issue here was the actual wines given, we checked the prices to buy full bottles at a bottle shop, and one wine was $30 a bottle! The pinot noir was $60 a bottle which should have been the standout wine of the night as it was paired with the final main course! What’s more, the wine servings were TINY, less than half a normal glass, and with only 6 wines served throughout the night we felt like the value of the wine pairing was simply terrible. 6 x half glasses of wine = 3 full glasses, = an average of $60 per full glass of wine! This might be OK if you were drinking wines worth $200+ a bottle but for wines worth $30 and $60? If the wine pairing costs $50 I’d still feel like it was bad value for money!

The service: nice but nothing special, we never felt very welcome but can’t complain either.

If you are considering Brae, firstly consider some much better much cheaper options in Melbourne, and if you are still insistent, then just stick to the food and definitely DO NOT waste your money on the wine pairing!

When they meant out of the garden, did taste like it. Menu was nothing special, definitely not worth the drive and for $1,000 between two people. Nice staff but weird rules, no writing on the dessert, bug in my wine and I got less of a refill, food was one word.underwhelming.

We had the most beautiful lunch and stay at Brae. Apart from the food and wine being amazing and the accommodation absolutely gorgeous the service was second to none. A special mention the amazing, attentive, personable Alex, Sarah, Lyndal, Shak, Jess and Nicole - thank you for making our time there exceptional. We will be back!

Don´t tell me that this kind of review doesn't hurt. To avoid this, may I say to you that I can help Brae by allowing you to attend and solve the bad reviews privately while encouraging your happy customers to post excellent reviews.

An incredible experience dining at one of the World’s 50 Best Restaurants 2021 @braerestaurant

The restaurant is set on an organic farm where ingredients are sourced and freshly picked (or from local suppliers).

Every bite was creative and delicious, paired with matching non alcohol beverages.

We also stayed at their guest suite with breakfast the next day that included freshly baked pastries and bread!

Highly recommend this unique experience!

Our favourite restaurant and accomodation in Melbourne.
We have been here a few times now and every time it is even better than we remember. Expensive but worth it. I love their values, ethics and all-around sustainability aspirations and would highly recommend.

Super fresh local produce! Service is fantastic and the flavour is superb, delicious surprising flavours - Dessert: Satsuma plum sorbet with ginger, tomato, seaweed (Yes seaweed!) and cream cheese. Fantastic umami flavour. After many courses left feeling very satisfied and not uncomfortably full

I'm giving this rating for the food only. Service was floor less accommodation was the same. I don't want to sound like a pain but I have eaten all over the world in some fantastic restaurants. This promised to be fantastic on paper well never again even if it was free if you love lots of veg this is for you if you like a drink take lots of cash. Or just forget it.

Our world urgently needs sustainable, energy and FOOD as well? ️The beauty of Brae Restaurant is daily picking up fresh vegetables from their garden and serving us, so some tasty, delicious food and creativity, decoration were there too. This concept is a good and common idea in Europe. We need to start to educate the community and also encourage environmental groups to be planting food trees and plants everywhere.

Brae offers unique dining and accomodation experience fit for a special occasion. A few noteworthy highlights are:
- a summer minestrone soup, where each vegetable speaks for itself in an wonderful ensemble. Never had anything like that before
- a salad with 35 different fruits, vegetables and herbs with a very light dressing. Delicious ingredients that taste exactly as they should: textural, fragrant and tantalise the tastebuds. It sounds almost strange that a salad would be the highlight of this meal, but it was. Hats off to Nina in the garden for doing the heavy lifting on that dish.
- going for a walk through their organic garden mid meal with a drink in hand. This 30 minute stroll was the right break to make a little bit more room for a few wonderful desserts.
- staying at the luxury accomodation enjoying even more food through supper and breakfast the next morning. For those who can be tempted there’s a wine fridge with something for everyone. We enjoyed a half bottle of champagne and watching the sunset while enjoying cheese.
Brae goes to show it’s truly the simple things in life done well that are the greatest.
