I had an awful building report done by another company and asked for advice on whether to do a second inspection. Troy was very helpful and empathetic and went through the report in detail over the phone. Despite that fact that I was looking for a second inspection, he assured me that it was not necessary and instead provided advice on what work/maintenance to do on the property based on what was in the existing report and his knowledge on similar types of buildings. Very much appreciate the honesty and care taken during our call.

Troy completed a total of seven building inspections for us during our house search, and he was indispensable in our buying process. As two first home buyers, we had no idea what we were looking for and, just starting out, were not wanting to make a financially poor decision.

Troy's eye for detail and extremely thorough assessment helped us avoid three financially ruinous decisions and saved us an enormous amount of stress. We avoided two termite damaged properties (that looked completely fine from the outside!), a 'maintenance beast' and a 'clandestine' property that looked newly renovated though had every issue under the sun. These houses would have caused us enormous financial stress and undermined our reasons for wanting to purchase initially - to set ourselves up for a financially secure future.

After each inspection, Troy phoned us and ran us through the ins and outs of the property in plain language so that we understood exactly what we were buying, what needed to be repaired, when it needed to be repaired and roughly what it would cost and the likely implications. Equipped with this knowledge, we were able to make informed decisions throughout the buying process and avoided nasty surprises.

Troy was the only neutral party we could discuss purchasing decisions with throughout the buying process as he had no stake in the property. The real estate agents came to dread him as he always identified property flaws and prompted us to walk away from a few.

Having now purchased, we cannot thank Troy enough for everything he has done to help us avoid financially terrible purchases and guide us towards making what was ultimately an informed decision. From taking our calls after hours (even helping us in purchase negotiations on a Saturday!) to dealing with back and forth questions and concerns raised by us and talking through the decision-making process.

It's no wonder his services are in such high demand- ourselves having heard of him from word-of-mouth. We cannot speak highly enough of him and the quality of his work. Whenever someone says they are buying, we are quick to say, 'we have the best building inspector Troy! '. Worth every dollar spent, through the tens of thousands saved.

Troy has inspected two properties for us. The first we bought and are very happy living in.

The second home he inspected, we were about to buy but Troy informed us that the drainage was not appropriate and that there had been work done to cover up moisture. That night it rained so we went to see the property. It was flooded! Thanks Troy for saving us from a lemon! We were able to exit the contract and get our deposit back. The building inspection saved us a huge headache and stress for possibly years to come.
