Box Office Cafe reviews
76 We got a bit confused as to where to get takeaway as there was 2 entrances and a semi awkward spot to stand and wait for your coffees. But having said that I got their cold brew. Was amazing!
Didn't eat there but I will give it a go next time as the food looked really good as they were passing me
This place looked amazing! The menu was very enticing so we decided to go for lunch here.
It wasn't busy and we were seated comfortably and could view the kitchen. We placed our order and waited in mouthwatering anticipation for our meals to arrive.
Well, after 40 minutes, a burnt lunch was served by an unapologetic waitress.
Not impressed!
Ok, we have been here before, and the food was nice but this time It was a let down. We ordered poached egg on toast with bacon and the Bread was dry and very hard, almost 2 hard to cut and eat. We also ordered a chicken dish which came full of lemon and was disgusting, a let down, and waist of our money, also toilet was scruffy and the door sign say ls engaged permanently- so confusing!
LOVE the coffee and fresh juices.
LOVE the staff - always friendly and helpful
LOVE being able to bring my doggo too
Box Office is my go-to! The coffee is some of the best you’ll get, and the food…. The new menu has just dropped, and I can say that the Croquettes are phenomenal! Mark and the staff are always incredibly friendly and welcoming, making you feel right at home. Never fails to disappoint!
Delicious food, coffee, wines and cocktails. Great use of native ingredients. Definitely a fave in Geelong west
Just a pity that the food and the coffee where just warm and got cold very quickly and the food scraps should be away from the eating area and out of sight.
Thank you for hosting my team for a breakfast meeting this morning! Service, coffee and food was great! THank you!
Had the duck two ways with a couple of sides on a rainy Sunday night. Quite possibly one of the best restaurant meals I have had in a couple of years. Great friendly and knowledgeable service.
Toast was beyond burnt, service was average at best- they saw my food was uneaten when taken away and didn’t ask if it was okay. Overpriced for a piece of inedible blackened bread with freezing cold avocado.
No service, waited 25 minutes for no coofee after ordering, Other table seated and received drinks, they were ladies, typical discrimination.
Second and last time ever.
Minus 5 stars
Avoid unless you want your morning ruined
I’ve been going to a Box Office pretty regularly for a while now, because the coffee is great and the food is pretty good. But after today, the little things that have been bugging me are now overwhelming and I don’t think I’ll go back. The place is grimy, it has always had a grungy feel, but no it’s actually just not clean. The staff are so inexperienced that they don’t pick up on things like that the water bottle (a recycled wine bottle) still has its sticky residue from the label to which hair and fluff has stuck, or that the salt and pepper grinders are empty and/or faulty. It doesn’t feel nice to pick up a sticky bottle! The bathroom is grotty (I had to change my baby on the floor in there once, and wanted a full shower afterwards). The menus are ancient and grimy (they’re printed on normal paper, just print fresh copies!). The whole place needs a big scrub and more attention paid to cleanliness and quality control.
Really nice cafe in the heart of Geelong West. Great service and excellent food. Will come back here again soon.
Great venue, great vibe, awesome staff and delicious food. A special memory for me also that night. Definitely worth checking out.
And now it's a second home. The Dogs are welcome and well looked after and catered for. Come from wherever, you'll still feel like a local.
Good food, poor service. In my experience, staff come off as quite rude. Coffee is shocking at times, and a large size is more like a small.
Have visited twice in the past couple of weeks and the food has been simply stunning on both occasions. Really thoughtful flavours and exceptionally interesting menu with something for everyone - beautiful ambience, excellent coffee and really lovely staff as well. Hands down our new fave breakfast place - incredible work guys!
I've been here plenty of times for meals, coffees and work meetings. It's a great place for all.
Tasty food, great coffee, and nice environment. Well worth heading in for a meal or quick coffee.
Very disappointed and honestly confused. We turned up at 2.30pm hoping for coffee and something from the cabinet. The waitress let us know the kitchen was closed but toasties/bagels were available, which was fine as that’s what we wanted. However when we ordered, the waitress refused to toast the toasties or bagels ‘since the kitchen was closed’. Had staff been willing to turn on the sandwich press for no longer than 5 minutes, we would have enjoyed our time and would have easily spent $30-40. Last I checked, a chef isn’t required to operate a sandwich press. And why sell food you’re unwilling to prepare? Don’t waste your time with the customer service here.
Would love to review the food at this place but unfortunately, no one seemed interested in serving us. We arrived after the lunch rush looking for some coffees. We waited to be seated as per the sign for a couple of minutes but no one acknowledged us at all during that time. The place wasn't busy. We left and had coffees at another cafe nearby that was more interested in having us as customers.
Fantastic little cafe hidden away just off pako. Super Dog friendly, we had our do and were able to sit inside! The food was fantastic and coffee delicious. Excited to return.
