Bluff Road Medical reviews
57This is a place where superb professionalism meets impeccable service. The covid vaccinations were organised meticulously. The staff are to be very highly commended for their friendliness and politeness. There wasn't even a hint of frustration in their behaviour despite having to repeat the protocol so many times daily.
A week after leaving hospital due to a heart attack and 3 consecutive days in surgery, I attended this clinic to see a doctor that had been recommended by my brother. The appointment went well - in that both the clinic and doctor were pleasant - however there were a couple of problems.
Firstly he had forgotten to provide me with prescriptions I'd explained to him I needed since I was almost out of some medications the hospital had provided. Secondly he had forwarded my cardiologist referral to the wrong clinic under the 'assumption' she consulted from there as well as the location I told him I'd made an appointment to see her. He explained 'they' preferred to deal with that facility. I discovered she did not consult from there when I attempted to make an appointment at that location. They told me that they had contacted Bluff Road Medical Centre to explain and that they should contact me at some point. This never happened.
My wife called Bluff Road Medical on the following Monday morning (I was sleeping still - in recovery) explaining what had happened and that I would be out of medication by the end of that week and needed the scripts the doctor had forgotten to give me. The receptionist told her they would speak to the doctor the following day when he was in and organise it. This also did not happen. Sounding familiar?
Early Wednesday morning my wife called back again and a different receptionist who was quite abrupt said that because I had not called on the same day of my appointment I may have to pay for another appointment - essentially for the doctor to correct his mistake - but she would speak to the doctor when he was in and call her back. Given their track record at this stage and the fact she was concerned about me running out of medication on Friday my wife called again just before midday the same day. The receptionist said she was not aware of the previous call and would check to see who had taken it. Next thing, the receptionist that had spoken to my wife earlier got on the phone and said to my wife "Why are you calling, I told you I would call you back and that the doctor was not in until the afternoon! " in an abrupt manner. This upset my wife somewhat and she told the receptionist she had not said that at all. The response back started with 'anyway. ' - dismissing the fact she hadn't. Long story not so long, I could hear my wife was upset and I told her to not worry about it and I would make an appointment with a different clinic if this was the way they behaved. So my wife told them that and hung up the phone.
While I was on the phone making an appointment with another clinic my wife got a call back from Bluff Road Medical. This time it was the practice manager and she told my wife that they had a zero tollerance policy towards abuse and accused my wife of swearing at the receptionist. My daughter and I were there at the time and this absolutely did not happen. My wife is not one to swear and certainly not on the phone to a stranger. She was very offended by this and told the manager we had booked elsewhere and no longer required their services (more their lack thereof).
My wife and I found the entire episode quite upsetting, not to mention a huge waste of precious time and that we (and taxpayer) were charged for this. While this may have been a one-off situation triggered from a single annoying/rude receptionist I believe they handled just about every aspect of this terribly. As a medical service they should (a) not be neglectful one time, let alone multiple times and (b) have a little more compassion for people who are already unwell rather than causing them this kind of unnecessary distress. Additionally the Practice Manager should have discussed this with my wife first and not assumed the receptionist was telling the truth 100% and being so accusatory. I would urge you to reconsider before visiting this practice.
Have just moved as a family to Bluff Road Medical from another surgery in Hampton. The kindness compassion and respect shown from the staff here is so lovely. Keep up the great work and thank you
Doctor Joan San was thorough, professional and really knowledgable Re nursing mums & small children. Thanks so much.
Don't send sick or dying dog there you will be made to jump thru a million hoops and be told your better off going to emergency.to have a boil drained.pathetic
The doctors at Bluff Road Medical Centre are extremely caring and the facility is state-of-the-art. If you're looking for a quality family GP, this is the place!
I was seen today by Dr Jason Rajakulendran for travel vaccinations for my second trip to India. He was far more informative about specifics (e.g. Chapter & verse medical response if bitten by a mammal, since rabies vaccine not currently available) than a Frankston travel clinic had been before my first India trip in 2015. He spent 30 minutes with me and explained what each vaccine was for and how long each would protect. This wasn’t a cheap visit but my previous vaccinations were priced similarly and I felt much more informed with Dr R. Recommended.
I highly recommend Bluff Road Medical Centre. I have been going for a very long time and the staff are always so attentive, professional and you are greeted with a smile. Doctor Jason Rajakulendran is a brilliant Doctor who is very caring, compassionate, and knowledgeable and I have total faith in him as my doctor and am very grateful for his assistance. They also have a huge team of Male and Female Doctors that are all excellent.
85 dollars to get a simple referral for my son.
Previously needed a yellow card for travelling overseas and was told to see their travel doctor. Extra charges than a normal visit.
It's all about the money here.
I personally know a number of the Doctors who work here. This is a fantastic clinic with a great culture and philosophy, a loyal patient following and one of only a handful of Doctor owned, non-corporate clinics left in Melbourne's southeast. It may not be a 'bulk billing' clinic but their fees deliver excellent value and quality care.
Great clinic, Dr Mira Klein is the best and makes you feel really comfortable. Front desk are lovely aswell.
Great medical service. The staff made me feel welcome from the moment I walked in. The doctors have always seemed well skilled/informed and that they cared.
All stars go to Katherine. She was great. But we were very specific in what we wanted on the phone and that wasn't delivered. Have had to change it to one star as ringing for results on what I believe to be important, all the nurse said to me was no action required. Which after more questioning, she had nothing else to go on as that is all that was written. So unhelpful, probably the worst service I have ever received in my adult life. Would never recommend them let alone go back.
This place is great. I was referred here by someone as I had been struggling to find a good Doctors clinic with people that actually listen and care about what your their for rather than just getting you in and out as quick as possible. I am more than happy to pay a fee to see someone that makes you feel comfortable about being there. The nurses were great too. This will definitely be my future Clinic.
Thanks
Very pleasing first experience at this clinic, the GP I saw on a Sunday was very attentive and caring. Will be making this my local for myself and baby daughter.
I highly recommend this fantastic medical clinic. The staff are very friendly and the doctors are very professional.
Very bad experience. Avoid unless desperate to see a doctor.
My wife went there with our baby daughter, 2 and a half y/o, and saw a GP for 10 minutes. That GP was nice and polite but could not tell us what was going on.
So basically, we spent $165 for 10 min of a GP time to be told in the end to come back the following day to see how the disease evolved get the analysis results (and pay an extra $165 again?).
The next day we were too busy at the ER to go back b/c our daughter couldn't walk anymore. The GP we saw was able to help us out and relief our daughter a bit from her pain and treated the disease.
That medical center did not even bothered calling us back to tell us about the analysis results, as they said they would. Thank god, their assumption was wrong and came back negative.
Avoid!
