Blue Bamboo Restaurant and Cafe reviews
46 One of the best Vietnamese restaurants on the west side of Melbourne. It is famous for its Roast duck
Fried rice is also good with great wok flavour, not oily. Fried Barramundi fillet with multi color vegetables is really good, the fish fillet is fresh, and the sauce is well balanced.
The atmosphere is really nice with great collections of plants and big pond of carp. It is a really pleasant feeling when we sit next to the pond, breath pure air from the plants, enjoying the dishes.
Definitely come back when they reopen.

Wow. The inside was beautiful. The food was so nice.the staff were super nice. I will tell everyone to try this place
Quaint little restaurant in Braybrook, you would only find out about it from a friend like we did.
Lovely tasty, authentic Vietnamese food. Definitely would recommend the duck. The lunch menu is great value, a little more for evening meals, we've tried them both times.
Love the seating area at the back garden with the pond and fish.
Blue Bamboo Restaurant really BLUE my mind
On the menu:
Prawn crackers
Salted egg chicken ribs
Egg noodle with spicy beef
Vermicelli noodle with grilled pork and spring roll
Egg noodle with roast duck in soup
I had initial reservations about this place It was recommended by a friend, but I had never heard of it before. It further PURPLE-xed me that it's along a small strip in Braybrook that probably wouldn't ordinarily catch your attention The shopfront is pretty basic. But once you step inside, you can say CYAN-ara to Melbourne and hello to a tropical island thanks to its stunning outdoor garden
While the prices may be a little higher than what you would typically spend at a casual Vietnamese restaurant, they are not unreasonable and EVERY. SINGLE. DOLLAR is worth it. The portions are incredibly generous and the flavours punch there's no holding back on the salted egg sauce, the crackers fizzle and pop on your tongue and the broths are richer than you could ever i-MAGENTA Plus, did I mention the atmosphere?
This place is one in VERMILLION, HUE better add it your list right now! I have no doubt that it was surpass your expectations with FLYING COLOURS
Great vibe, great food and a really calm atmosphere in the garden dining at the rear of the restaurant.
I recently had the pleasure of dining at Blue Bamboo, a hidden gem in Melbourne’s western suburbs. I was immediately struck by the traditional tropical decor, including a beautiful fish pond. The atmosphere was warm and inviting and the staff were friendly and hospitable.
I was particularly pleased with the food. The boneless sizzling paddy duck with basil was cooked to perfection and packed with flavor. The tofu and vegetables were excellent, and the crispy pork spring rolls with lettuce and Vietnamese mint were delicious. I was also highly impressed with the robot waiter, who not only delivered the food to the table but also entertained us with its robotic movements.
The prices were also reasonable and the portions generous. I was also impressed with the freshness of the ingredients used in the dishes. The vegetables were crisp and flavorful and the meat was succulent and juicy. The sauces and marinades used were also flavorful and complemented the dishes perfectly.
Overall, I had an excellent experience at Blue Bamboo. From the friendly and hospitable staff, to the delicious food and the traditional tropical decor, I highly recommend this restaurant. Whether you’re looking for a quick lunch or an elaborate dinner, Blue Bamboo is sure to please.
(Please note, in a nod to the robot waiter, I decided to write this review with the help of an AI engine!)
The best authentic Vietnamese restaurant.of their dishes are top- notch. Service is always quick. Highly recommend for couples & small friend groups.
Very expensive restaurant. Even though the back garden seating is different from other restaurants, the price won’t just justify it, in my opinion. $26 for a plate of stir fried noodles with chicken? Get me wrong but I have dined in at so many Vietnamese restaurants from casual to fine dining, the price here is ridiculous. Felt like we were paying for a fine dining meal.
Also paid $30 for a sweet and sour fish, the flour was way too thick and oily, hardly taste any fish inside. The stir fried noodle was ok but wouldn’t pay that much.
There are other reasonably priced Vietnamese restaurants nearby (such as Song Ngu or Miss Ha) with better food and taste. Better give this one a miss if quality and value for money is not your concern: (
Come back after 2 years. Nice decorations with many plants and fish tank. Food is yummy as usual. Kids love delivery robot
Good COVID-19 plan. Attentive service. Lovely garden area out the back. Plentiful and delicious meals. Stir fry scallops and Vermicelli noodles with Chicken were particularly good.
Viet restaurant, in a rundown shopping centre in Braybrook.
You go through the takeaway area, and land up in a garden environment with water canals featuring koi fish
Foods nice. Wine list is short. Beer is the go
The best authentic Vietnamese restaurant nearest to Sunshine Market Area. Feeling like I am anywhere in Hanoi, Saigon, Hoian of Vietnam. Many of their dishes are top- notch. I its mini lush tropical garden. Service is always quick but I am not familiar with new digital menu. Highly recommend for couples & small friend groups. I think no air conditioning at their back garden only ceiling fans so you know this spot suits mild weather or cool days gathering.
Beautiful backyard dining area. I was there for a birthday dinner on a Monday, was surprised the restaurant was full - but after tasting the food, I understand why. Need to park along street as the area has limited 30mins free parking.
Can’t travel to Vietnam? No problem! Blue Bamboo instantly screams authentic Vietnamese atmosphere. We found this place by accident but our return will be intentional. The fairly priced dishes we had were an absolute delight. Usually dishes that come out this fast should warrant concern, but after one fork of my mouth watering duck and my partners fresh and tasty fried rice; it’s as if the chefs can perform miracles.
The outdoor area out back just tops off the experience. Fresh air, plants, fish ponds and perfectly lit lighting make this cafe a MUST visit.
Wonderful Vietnamese food. Great decor.could have been in HCMC or many other places in Vietnam.
Great atmosphere, friendly staff and delicious food. Please make veggie gluten free pho. Can't seem to find this dish in the inner west.
Nice restaurant, short soup was excellent, pepper steak was tasteless no favour at all. Average meal.
Delicious food.
I had the beef in black bean sauce.
So juicy. Im 100% coming back.
FYI I’m pretty picky on food.
I love the foods. It's so fresh and nice representation.
The price is resonable and large portions.
Good customer service and beautifully decoration
