BlocHaus Bouldering Port Melbourne reviews
46Pretty good plenty of variety in the climbs and lots available. Seems to be a bit of a difficulty gap between the purple problems and the black problems though. I flashed most of the purples, but couldn't get started on the black problems. Other than that though, it's really good.
Massive bouldering gym with lots of difficulty options. Cafe and equipment, free chalk. My favourite gym in Melbourne - only issue is it’s a bit out of the way. Memberships are a bit more expensive than Northside gyms. Would be great to see some yoga classes!
As someone who used to work at Bounce when it first opened. I've had my fair share of recreation venues hours over the years. But I have to say I significantly enjoyed my time here! I wanted to challenge myself and 'level up' very fun! Would come again in a heartbeat.
Great customer service, very chill, fun and family friendly environment. Awesome bouldering courses will definitely go again!
Very big and open, always plenty of space on the walls so no need to queue up even when it's busy. Great training area. Highly recommended!
Lots of different types of climbing, slab, undercling, high ball and top out. Also has a slack line, nice gym with moon and chaos boards plus plenty of campus training options.
Awesome space, great staff and very welcoming. I recommend taking the Monday evening lesson if your a beginner.
Great crew, great place to climb, great to bring little ones there too.
Coffee was pretty good too.
Great coffee. Great pretzels. Most importantly - Quality climbing walls. The problems are really fun and a good mix of skills and styles. The slack line and side gym are great for a warm up. The staff are super friendly. It's a great place to climb. Prices are a touch steep at non member rates. If you're looking to get into climbing it's a great place to do it. If the parking fills up, there is on street parking right out front.
Beautifully crafted bouldering wall. Safe and friendly environment. Great value. Only gets better each time I visit.
Great staff and smooth induction for your first visit. Some great boulders. We liked that the grading system sign shows the colours overlapping. Might be helpful to position a few more of those signs throughout the gym for ease of reference.
The gym is clean, everybody is really social and friendly, offering tips and making a newbie feel very comfortable to try bouldering.
Extremely tired but keen to try it again after recovering!
Highly recommended, fair warning though, not a cheap sport, but with no time restriction you make your own value.
Will be back.
Great place with friendly staff and a good vibe. Fun for a first time family going (kids 7 & 9), in addition to the bouldering there's table tennis, a kids area & tight rope to walk. Really loved that there is a water station with cups, free tampons etc in the bathroom, adds a nice touch & adds to the feeling that it's a community rather than a place to gouge every last dollar out of you! Will definitely be recommending this to friends & family:)
Visited here for the second time. The place caters for all levels! Came here two weeks ago and noticed that the tasks has been updated! Good for little ones too early to start bouldering as there is climbing cubby house with slides. Price is very reasonable too.
Excellent bouldering gym. It's big enough that you likely wouldn't be able to send everything at your grade in one session, and has enough angles and styles of problem to make me want to come back.
Moon, campus, and peg board at the back, plus free weights.
The people seem chill too.
Kids are restricted to the smaller, less high area. That's a pro or a con depending if you've got kids.
So good! Great space, fun boulders, superb training area, well thought out and designed kids area. On the down side, the mats are really too stiff and the wall profiles could be more overhang.
Really awesome facility. Plenty of variety in the climbs available, heaps of spacr and the gym section had just about everything a climber could need. Staff were also very friendly. Will definitely return next time I'm in Melbourne.
The perfect climbing gym. Great atmosphere, good music, plenty of lounge areas to rest between climbs so you can literally spend the whole day here, cool people around, easy to get good tips from the climbers with more experience who won’t look at you in a pretentious way if you are a beginner, fun routes for everyone, clean and spacious, you can park at the door. As I said, the perfect climbing gym!
Honestly the best bouldering gym I've ever been to and easily the best in Melbourne currently. All routes are fun to climb no matter the difficulty, hard or easy as you can tell the setters have put a great deal of effort into the layout of every climb. The gym is massive, clean and all around has a great vibe, not to mention the fact that the gym has plenty of things to do while you rest in-between climbs like table tennis as well as allowing all ages unlike other gyms. If you enjoy climbing definitely an awesome place to check out and improve your skill.
Great bouldering spot in south Melbourne. It is a little bit of a pain to get to without a car (from the city). But it's closer than the Grampians?
Friendly staff, good setting, they are expanding to have a larger kids area which is cool. Decent training room. It is a really big space with a lot of climbs. Couple of chill-out areas, and very clean bathrooms.
Would climb again.
