BlocHaus Bouldering Port Melbourne reviews
46Super nice staff, super nice and big boulder, super nice gym, super nice atmosphere, you can even chill out w table tennis in the meantime. Gee I absolutely loved it! 15/10
It's a bit far from the city, but I personally think it was a very nice trip! Urban Climbing Collingwood is close, but the holds are too oily and the difficulty level is spaced out, so it's either easy or difficult, but the layout here is linear, so it's good. I'm a newbie to the blue and navy colors in Kankoku, and I enjoyed it because there were so many things to do here. And I don't know when it came into existence, but as of early 24, the hold status is good. There isn't much oil and it seems to have a new hold. Great for use on walls too. Also, the ventilation seems to be good? There is content to keep one's balance, such as tightrope walking, a ping pong table, and surprisingly, the coffee is quite delicious, so I had a lot of fun.
This bouldering gym is my favourite in Melbourne. While it’s a bit out of the way compared to some, it more than makes up for the commute with ample space, a great variety of climbs, plenty of places to sit and chat with your friends, good coffee, and friendly staff. There’s a kids section, a training area, table tennis, and sometimes even a food truck. On top of all that, there are frequently fun events including competitions and holiday parties.
Great environment and staff with a great variety of climbs from beginner friendly to difficult.
Such an awesome place to boulder. Sensational selection of climbs of all difficulties and enjoyment levels. Routes are changed regularly by experienced climbers. Snacks and coffee available when required. Affordable rates for ongoing members, and quality shoes for newcomers.
Went as a noob, had lots of fun. They have tracks for all skill levels, definitely will be returning.
Only second time bouldering and it was great.
Lots of variables here for beginners and advanced.
This place is an absolute gem! So glad we were recommended here. We came from the other side of Melbourne and it did not disappoint! The 2,4,8 and 10 year old children were immensely happy!
Horrible place I got discriminated against by Te!
Absolutely disgusting.i will never ever climb there again in my life it turned me off climbing.
Plus they had my last review deleted so i don't trust this company.
Reviews are edited to suit them meaning negative reviews disappear.
Company discriminates against people with mental disability is very low and sad.
I don't lie plus i have witnesses.
Great staff. Easy going. Highly recommended for kids also. Just bring your own food. Coffee is great also.
Stoked to be back bouldering! Nice gym pretty clean and great routes! Will be back for sure:)
First time here for a climb. Wasn't the warmest welcome, bit of attitude but other than that, the place was great.
Good amenities, and decent layout. Gets a bit crowded on the right hand side as people just sit on the mats, not much space to walk around in between climbers and those sitting. Great variations in climbs though and decent gym workout equipment.

Great fun, like an indoor playground for adults. Has everything you need, and you feel very safe. Staff are fantastic, always lovely and happy:)
A lot of varieties, had lots of fun! The instructions for newbies could have been done better but all in all, we figured it all out by the end of it:)
I loved the atmosphere here. It was a great set up and lots of great problems to solve. Having a scale based on colour made it really easy to find the beginner climbs, which there were a lot of. The kids area looked awesome and I've recommended this place to some friends with kids after seeing it myself. I had a great time. I would go more often if I lived closer.
Lovely place and cool climbs, there’s even coffee, a slack line, table tennis and weights if you feel like taking a break from climbing? ️
Went here very recently. I've been to a couple other bouldering gyms in Melbourne which I'll use for comparison given their competitors.
The Good: Blochaus is one of the larger bouldering gyms in Melbourne, and I liked the number of climbs available. Free (liquid) chalk provided which is very nice. Has a basic gym area with a squat rack which is a nice plus. Also has a table tennis table & tight rope!
The Bad: I can't give it 5 stars for the following. No WiFi. Only one (still) water station, and it pours incredibly slow. Very hard destination to go to unless you live in Port Melbourne. Their 2 week trial period is very expensive at $49 compared to other gyms.
My 5 year old had a great time, it was an excellent introduction to bouldering. My 2 year old was a pain, I don’t recommend bringing toddlers along!
Friendly staff and great facilities. Interesting and challenging climbs. Perhaps not as beginner friendly as other places though (nothing we beginner friendly as the yellow difficulty at urbanclimb)
Website is very buggy. Booked a beginner course, turned up and was told they are not running the course over the holidays, but nothing was mentioned on the website.
