Tasty food but not too impressive. Good service but the restaurant is a bit too loud so if you prefer a quiet atmosphere, maybe check with the restaurant if they can arrange a spot somewhere less noisy in their space.

My favourite dishes are the chicken pie and the dessert Crème au miel. This dessert dish is delicious and well balanced in flavours!

The Chicken Pie and Chat Potatoes were divine. The Giant BBQ Prawns for entree were mouth watering! Always consistent.

Out standing food and wine list. A little on the expensive side, but worth it.

The team knew their stuff, and we’re really helpful with some food intolerances.

Over priced, cheese scuffle didn't really taste of cheese, the chicken pie was delicious but for $40 no side dish made it a very expensive pie. 1st time ever that we went home to have a cheese platter as we weren't satisfied Staff were ok did their job, but a bit of personal grooming, make-up would be suggested, they are we the face of the restaurant.will we be back no!

A Sorrento and MP 5-star Gem.
Fantasic French food, and several superb Coravin elite wine options by the glass. Whole wine list leans towards sustainable growers, especially their champagnes. Do you like duck fat roast potatoes? Take that love to another level with their sublime horseradish and mustard butter chats.

Had a wonderful spanish wine dinner. The food and wine were sumptuous and the company and service were excellent.

Happy lunch! Relaxing environment n friendly staff. Reasonably good dishes. Enjoyable experience in a sunny winter day in Mornington area.

I HAVE NEVER in my whole life been spoken to so rudely by a restaurant manager!
Just called to add an extra person for my girlfriends birthday and the way I was spoken too was outrageous! Being a local lady I am devastated because I’ve always spoken so highly of this restaurant but will not continue to do so, As I would hate anyone else to be treated so horribly.
IM OUTRAGED!

It was quite enjoyable and memorable dining experience. Credits to all staff, chef of course included, for creating an atmosphere and food that would stick to your heart with its perfection.
Everything I tried was quite tasty, but the confit duck leg stood out for me.
It may be unfair to the other dishes, so I should list them all:

-Freshly shucked Sydney rock oysters with mignonette dressing
-Ratatouille with almond rice pilaf
-Confit duck leg with puy lentils, bitter leaves, mustard dressing
-Vanilla creme brulee with almond rochers.

I will definitely highly recommend this cute restaurant, but make sure you book your table - it gets rather busy for dinner!

Let’s start with the looks.

It was a cold day and the family and I need to do a quick shop for winter day. The looks we received because we were “under dressed” was rude and very unprofessional.

Waiter coming to our table and saying, before you read more of our menu left me tell you our specials. He had our full attention. One special was the zucchini flowers with goat’s cheese, yum. Let’s try that.

We ordered a hand full entrees and asked if there was a kids menu for our boy?
He advised there was only the baramandi that it’s a kid’s favourite from the mains, no other kids menu!

We recived our “rosemary roasted bread with olive oil” to only get Turkish bread with bitter plain oil.
(Chef, import olive oil is best and maybe add some balsamic, it works)

When the fish came out,
The waiter new this was for our five year old boy.
The fish came caverd in parcly, pomegranate and swimming in lemon oil sauce. Completely not what a young kid wants.

As we were waiting for our entrees and had two glasses of red, it was an absolute disaster of a cook on the plate. Honestly this was disgusting!

Green bitter grassy mussels with zero flavour, looking like green vomit on a plate, to only taste worse then it looked.
The amazing zucchini flowers with goats cheese, was only one flower. I looked at the plate with disbelief. I asked the waiter. Sorry is this a mistake, does this only come with one flower?

He said and I quote. “ yes only one, don’t worry it’s not expensive” at this point I realised this restaurant is acting to be something it’s not!

The rest of the food was just…. I won’t comment on the over cooked microwave broccoli and missing items, We left and paid $50 at the local fish and chips up the road, this had better service and food!

Don’t eat here, it’s not restaurant quality. It’s a fake restaurant trying to be a high end, but lacking the knowledge of flavours, communication and services.

I’ve been a chef for over a decade and this place is a joke!

Well I have said that Sorrento is overpriced many times, but for once it pays off.

Service is fantastic, friendly and polite. They understand the quality and the origins of their food, providing a sense of authenticity and a “homely” atmosphere.

Oysters were top notch, and a great price - fantastic value for money!

Mocktails were delicious, and other drinks were prepared with effort and tasted fantastic.
A friendly and great place to visit, definitely a must do to get the full Sorrento experience.

Yes I know it’s French, but does it have to come with arrogant staff? Food is great, but the staff are so stiff and snooty. No one, absolutely no one is good enough for them and trust me they will make you aware of this.

Last night was the latest of our many visits that we have paid to Bistro Elba and, as usual, it was a superb evening.

Sparkling (in both meanings!) French champagne to start with and after entrees our lovely mains, the fish special for my wife and chicken pie for myself, as always delicious.

Around us a collection of tables with smiling, happy faces and, refreshingly, nobody on the mobile! Such a delightful change!

The waiter (French I believe) was professionalism personified: never distracting but always there to top up water or to make a suggestion when asked.

If you wish to emerge from your dinner stuffed to the gills with mass produced muck then there are plenty of venues that will no doubt cater to your sad needs but should you favor quality, locally produced fare cooked and served by people that know and respect both their food and their clientele then this is the place for you.

We look forward to many more wonderful evenings at Bistro Elba!

We had a nice post-hike dinner here back in April. Especially loved the freshly shucked oysters (half price from 4-6pm!), beef tartare and heirloom tomato salad special. The rest of the food was a bit hit and miss however, with the mains being generally unimpressive for the price point. The service was great though, and overall our experience was enjoyable.

Fantastic food and service with staff being prompt and anticipating our needs. It was meant to be a celebration for us and it was one we won't soon forget. Highly recommended.

An impeccable lunch. We were accommodated even without a booking and were greeted and served exceptionally well. The oysters were fresh, the fish was succulent, the poultry and sausage was moist and dessert was just enough to leave happy full without compromising the lunch experience. The drinks were amazing. A must location for lunch.

We had a nice meal. Very flavoursome but small have to add sides and quite $$$. The letdown was the wine menu. Minimum $96 a bottle! Or $22 for a glass of Chardonnay! That’s ridiculous

We enjoyed the lunch that we had at Bistro Elba. The menu looked good, however, a little on the pricy side. The slow cooked lamb shoulder was delicious! Jason looked after our table, he was attentive and an overall superstar!
