Billy's Bistro and Bar / Azzuri reviews
52 Unfortunately, there is no good reason to go here. Everything is what you would expect on a hotel menu, at hotel expensive prices, and while the flavour was ok it was missing any sort of bang or passion. The staff were nice enough, but when you're paying above par for average food, I feel like there needs to be some magic. There was no magic. It was all just ok at a price point that cannot achieve more than 2 stars overall.
I'm sorry guys, whatever you've been doing, it's been going on too long, Ballarat is changing, customers can just go up the road to a restaurant with outstanding food that is cheaper. The decor is neat but pretty boring.
No excitement here. Too bad when the hotel is in quite a beautiful setting. Feels dated and forgotten about. Room for improvement.
The wine selection (all local) was great and the 2 x Mains (beef cheeks and Wagu Beef) were simply delicious. The service was warm and friendly. Thankyou for a great dinner. The name Bistro might make you thinks it's a family restaurant that serves chips and parmas.
Well I’ve just had a very tasty and rich glass of beer oh ya and it went perfectly with my beef cheeks red wine jus creamy mash and parsnip chips xo
Apon arrival Resturant was clean and tidy.was all down hill from there.
Amy the girl serving us had no idea about wine AT ALL! Couldn’t remember the specials. Took our drink order and returned 20 min later with them, seemed to be too busy flirting and having long talks with other tables to care about any unattractive patrons like us!
Clearly out of her depths, the food arrived with a thud on the table and a “ here u go “
Food was amazing!
Had to constantly “hunt” Amy for drinks, deserts seemed to difficult to be bothered with.
I overheard loud conversations where Amy was complaining about other staff and seemed to be blaming everyone for her mistakes.it’s a shame one person can ruin a Resturant but it happened we won’t return and could see other tables felt the same. Just a all round shambles!
If your in Ballarat, and your wondering where to go for a great meal, go to Billy's Bistro. The wine selection (all local) was great and the 2 x Mains (beef cheeks and Wagu Beef) were simply delicious. The service was warm and friendly. Thankyou for a great dinner.
The Dinner menu is very average not a lot of choice on the menu for main
meals are quite expensive my desert was horrific, breakfast is great though

It's a first class high end place to dine. The restaurant manager ensures you have a first class experience and to ensure that he is involved to the point. He will take your order and ensure everyone in the dining area is getting looked after. Always feel welcome. It is a beautiful location.
Great food and good coffee. But most of all, the staff are really friendly and make you feelnsuper welcome.
Went there for dinner on a Thursday night around 8: 30pm. Pretty quiet. Nice atmosphere. Tasty food. Friendly staff. A little pricey.
Absolutely fabulous meal. Had the pan roasted duck. Service was of a top class restaurant, could not fault anything. Highly recommend.
Excellent lunch, Bloody Mary oyster shots, grilled barramundi. Excellent service. Menu is small but the beauty of this is they get it right. Fully recommended.
Absolutely great restaurant.we used Accor Plus Dining app to find you coming into Ballarat on way to Melbourne. Awesome food and service especially stuffed olives and Atlantic Scallops. We woukd travel back from Melbourne to come back! Unbelievable
