Bendigo Backpackers

By far, by faarrrr the cleanest hostel I've seen in my life. No kidding. Just renovated and very well kept. Props to the owners

Nice, clean, affordable, straightforward, bicycle friendly and open during the covid crisis Not for very light sleepers though - the walls seem to be a bit thin.

This hostel was amazing at the beginning, clean, quiet and very comfortable. We were 16 people inside. One day the owner start to be very strange, when she saw two dirty plates in the kitchen, she start to loose patience and she throw all our staff out (computer, shoes, working staff, clothes ALL personnal staff) during the time we were all working.we came back from work we were stuck in front of the hostel.
Some people were dirty it's right but the other were honest and clean. She put all the group of people outside and she never let us come back in the hostel, she lost some of our staff and never bring us back.
She didn't act like a manager but like a psyco person.
She pretend that we lost the key of the room and she never give us the money back of the caution.
We went to the police but when you are backpacker you don't have any right.
Be careful with this kind of people, look nice but they are not honest.

When I staid in this Backpaker, i have been working with some people in a apple farm. We paid for 2 weeks and one day after work all our staff was outside the house.
We didnt have our money back never, im still waitting and the owner was supper disgusting and unpolite with us.
We where supper quiet and hardworker group and I still dont understand this situation.

A great budget option for visiting Bendigo. Comfortable, clean and air conditioned. Remotely managed so you will need to receive a text for access. Is a converted old house - not enormous by any means but plenty of space. I can’t speak for the dorms as I’ve only stayed in the private rooms but can’t be beat for the price.

The only downside is very limited parking in the narrow street outside. Not the business’s fault but it is worth knowing if you are driving.

We were a big group of people staying in this hostel and we paid for two weeks. One day, while we were out of the house the owner decided to throw us from there, so she put all our stuff in the street (even computers, and really personal and important things) and forbide us to come inside again, even to check It there was any other stuff left inside. The reason was that we left the kitchen disorganized. You can imagine how disappointed we were.

Good price. Parking is a problem. Facilities were clean and comfortable. Situated in the heart of town it is an easy walk to shops.

Looks like an awesome hostel to stay at, will look at booking it for a few nights one day soon.
